If I knew the officer's name, zabasearch.com would give me his home address. Then it would be kudzu planting time. Kudzu, the gift that keeps on growing & growing & growing. Just what that jack-boot deserves.
But on the other hand, I have to wonder what the outcome would have been if A) he'd pulled over immediately instead of driving a half mile further than needed and B) if he'd just rolled down the freakin window. Not saying the cop was justified, just askin.
Here is your answer. Then he'd demand you exit the car. Them he'd demand to know where you been and where you are going. Then he'd demand to know if there's anything in the car he needs to know about.
Bro, bowing gets you no end. Bowing ONLY serves to embolden the bastards. We have the right to go about our business unmolested by the agents sent out to eat out our substance.
It's time law enforcement officers return to their rightful place by getting off the high fucking horse they THINK they ride in on. Their badge is NOT some title of nobility that exempts them from the highest law of the land. Sure they can ASK people to do things but they have to ACCEPT that they have NO authority to exact their orders when people aren't doing anything wrong to start with.
So Panda and Eddy think that your right to go about your business unmolested is just a luxury?
YOU'RE the reason the state has been allowed to abuse the citizenry in this country. Look no further.
Did this young man get any charge for what he was allegedly pulled over for? No? Then they pulled him over for NOTHING.
Let that sink in for a minute before you advocate your apparently default position when approached by authorities which is to drop your pants, bend over and ask the officer for more....
@THEBigFatPanda It was not half a mile, it was half a block. Not only that; it is almost universal police policy to let people drive on to a place they feel is safe to stop. Sometimes women being pulled over are even advised to drive all the way to the police station.
He had the window down enough to converse and to hand over papers. All that is necessary and no decent cop would ask for more.
Go ahead and lick boots, Panda. I hope you find them tasty. It's clear you won't be with the 3% when SHTF.
Yes, there may be good cops BUT when they turn a blind eye on their fellow police abusing the public, police crime, theft and bad behavior (like giving a pass to off duty officers that that are drunk driving, fighting, domestics or otherwise breaking the law because they flash the badge).
The "thin blue line" seems to be morphing into the "them vs us line" and if you think you're a "good cop" but you put up with this type of attitude toward the public by your co-workers - you're just as bad or worse than the perp(s).
To me - the police look like the militarized version of the Crips -
I do know some police and FBI agents socially through my kids and they are very nice individuals and generally pretty sharp but based on various banter and daily headlines I would not want to be a target of their bullying.
Just like officer safety, police practice has become "lowest common denominator" police work meaning if you report a crime to a police agent the first thing they do is run you to see if they can bust YOU because you're already there and it's easier to harass you than respond to your complaint.
I would be unlikely to ever call the police, I don't trust them and in any interaction with them my objective is NOT TO BE MURDERED
Paul X; Perhaps my attitude is such because apparently I've been fortunate enough not to have had an interaction with cops that has descended to the level described by the young man. Do I naively believe all cops are saints? No. I merely point out that regardless of whether you think they pulled him over for nothing(which I agree with seeing as how they used the "driving erratically" excuse), the FACT remains: a cop CAN pull you over any time he chooses whether you like it or not. So why escalate the situation when it is within your power not to do so?
So: my question remains the same. Unless you are advocating we adopt a policy whereby all of us who own firearms immediately jump out and open fire on cops who pull us over while screaming, "You're pulling me over for NOTHING!!!!", I'm afraid I'm a little mystified as to your solution to this very real problem. I agree bending over is not the optimum solution either. Calling me a bootlicker doesn't seem to me to be a useful solution but I guess if you don't any ideas either, calling names is your default position?
Now if it was up to me, I'd love to find some way to change how cops are educated. I've seen videos of sheriffs deputies in training and OMG, it looks like they're in USMC boot camp. WHY? Why are cops taught that they need to ratchet up the aggressiveness at the first sign of a question? This grieves me because I'm old enough to remember Officer Friendly and in the few interactions I've had with my local sheriffs deputies, it's never gone confrontational.
I don't have the answers, Paul X, except one. "Vengeance is Mine, says The Lord. I WILL repay." We have at average 75-80 years on this planet, then we're into Eternity. I truly believe that these cops who behave this way will reap what they have sown on the Day of Judgement. And know this also, sir. If you're not right with GOD, you'll be right in there with them. For the rest of us, I believe after one minute in His presence, we will have forgotten EVERYTHING that bothered us on this Earth.
When they start demanding you hand over your guns it's shooting time.
I live / work on a ranch and I carry. Every time the police roll through the first thing they want to do is "see / hold the gun" (for their safety) to which my response is "get off my property"
If officer safety is really that important officers need to be more respectful, get right with the constitution and be more polite. The majority badged bullies that are "just following orders" need to be identified and shot - I aint giving you my gun
Maybe they should carry that statement on their Miranda card
I am a law abiding property owning, excessive tax paying citizen and if you are on my property wanting my gun I'd just as soon kill you - learn some manners or let the war begin.
"if there is to be war, let it be now that my children will live in peace" Patrick Henry?
Further, all this isis and ebola crap is NOT about terrorism it's about MARSHALL LAW - and those that believe in freedom will shortly be fighting on two fronts (the dicktators and their flunkies and islam) so it's time to get your priorities straight.
I am to the point now where it does not seem so far fetched that the grand plan to destroy the US will come to a head with terrorism here prompting marshal law and the "postponing' of the 2016 election - who would stop it?

Enough is enough.
After reading and thinking, I have to agree with panda.
