The ORIGINAL gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)

All right, I've just collected the last statement that I was looking for from an independent witness at the Bundy Ranch.
It will take me some time to put this all together, probably won't have it out until the morning.
Another alternate universe heard from.
Wayne LaPierre and Sarah Palin at the National Rifle Association is what an American Nazi Party rally would sound like if Germany had won the war. The flag, the cross, the obsession over the danger posed to the ruling class by violent minorities and the warning that arming yourself to the teeth in order to prevent the demise of the very nation at the hands of those violent minorities, the petty mocking of the rule of law and mocking of the quaint sensibilities of those who would not commit crimes against the nation's enemies. There's nothing Godwin about it, this is what it would look like. Does look like, in certain meeting halls and convention centers.

First decent sleep I've had in a while. Will be back in the saddle later today with my magnum opus on the Bundy Siege,
Until then, here's the latest Oat Keepers statement. I'm waiting to hear from a couple of independent eyewitnesses to crucial turning point events before I post mine.

Sorry, guys. Been sick as a dog all day.
Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight and have more in the morning.
Never fear, I'm still alive.
But I have to tell you that I'm still beat. Will have more in a little bit.

Just got off a briefing from Oath Keepers on the subject of the Bundy Ranch -- and a tornado's bearing down on me.
Wow. Don't believe what you're hearing from the "Payne Provocateur Party" at Bundy's. OK has their own story and they've got witnesses, receipts and more. They did a video conference of their own tonight and as soon as the links are up I will put it up and let you judge for yourself. Until then, I've got to shut down until the tornado passes.
No rest for the weary.
Folks, I've got to run. I'll have more later, including products I spotted at the NRA convention, some interesting presentations and a report on the Appleseed Project there.
The Virgin River Volunteers Hat.
Somebody asked about the hat I wore at the NRA Convention. Three Percenters who I met out at Bundy's evinced an interest in having their own identifier specific to the Bundy siege. Here it is. I had it made at Hessler's, 1089 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion Ohio. I told him to save the design in case anybody wanted another, so you can call James at 740-386-6131 or email him at james@hesslersllc.com. I have no idea what your shipping may be.
The cluster coital stuation at the Bundy Ranch. Hold up on the donations of gear, goods and green until the situation becomes clearer.
I'll hopefully have an intelligent analysis later today of what has been happening with provocateurism, disinformation and infighting at the Bundy Ranch since the moment I got on the plane to come back east, but I am awaiting some further communication from Oath Keepers. Hold up on the donations of gear, goods and green until the situation becomes clearer.
The video links to my speech at the Bundy Ranch, 19 April 2014.
The sound is jumpy in the first seconds and barely adequate thereafter (generator noise, poor sound pickup) and it needs to be put together in one link, not three (something that is beyond my capability). The behind-the-scenes tragic-comic drama that attended getting to this point would both frighten and, ultimately, bore you. Like everything else at the Bundy's it was full of great promise, best wishes and good intentions followed by multiple snakebite. I think I may recreate the speech and put up my own video with decent audio. I think it deserves better. Others may have a different opinion.
Part One.
Part Two.
Part Three.

I'm on the way home.
The twin gifts of a faithful reader, Vanderboegh plays with the Don't Tread on Me chase car and the weeniewagon in the NRA Press Room. You should have seen the looks I got.
Be there late this evening. The NRA convention was full of pleasant surprises, especially all the the Threepers and supporters who sought me out. Will have a complete report -- probably tomorrow.

Having trouble getting my new computer to interface with the net.
Will try to post from the NRA convention today. More later.
Discernment, or lack thereof. I've been asked to explain the post below.
The Bundys have embraced to their bosom an asp who has been, and continues to be, a provocateur who has done everything he can to disupt the Oath Keeper's support operation. He came into camp early on, I was told, without ID, without a DD-214, claiming to have been a Ranger. However, no one I can find in the current Ranger veteran establishment knows who this guy is, recognizes his name, etc. I observed him up close for several days and I concluded that he is, at least, a sociopath, saying different things to different folks based upon whether they can assist him, not the mission.
He has, consistently, tried to undermine, with the Bundys and others, the Oath Keepers' leadership including a failed coup attempt to replace Jerry as ground force commander. I told Ryan Bundy that this piece of work did not have the Bundys' welfare at heart, only his own. I urged them to vett this moke in the interest of their own safety. The Bundys have kept him hanging around. I am not an Oath Keeper, but I am no patsy either. I put my own reputation on the line when I urged folks to ssend supplies. I was told in a phone call last night that the Oath Keepers continue to refine and improve their logistical support, despite continued attempts by this snake to hijack supplies and have them delivered straight into his control, not Oath Keepers.
At the time of the attempted coup, I suggested to the Oath Keepers that if this POS was successful in displacing Jerry, that they secure and remove their supplies to somewhere off site and deliver them only on an as-needed basis when they could guarantee that they would go to the security force. I told them at the time, "Let this (POS) supply himself and his faction out of his zipper because he ain't got dick." I told Ryan Bundy the same thing in the phione conversation.
The Oath Keepers have been trying, in this almost impossible situation, to continue to protect the Bundys and support the operation without being disrupted and victimized by this sociopath. Part of the problem is that the OK's are trying something new for them and they have been entirely too trusting about creatures such as this who have wormed their way into the Bundys' affections. They are now learning the hard way to be less trusting and more demanding -- something that simple fiduciary responsibility to their volunteers and supporters demands. It IS their reputation on the line as well and it would be a win-win for the Feds to diminish the Bundy defense force while at the same time discrediting the Oath Keepers. I would suggest to my readers who wish to volunteer and support the Bundy defense that they contact me first and I will give them the contact information for those folks who can be trusted not to abuse their good intentions. Do NOT take for granted what you are told by just anyone working a checkpoint at the Bundy Ranch. A pretty sorry situation, but that's the truth. And I will always tell you the truth as I understand it.
This POS could not have disrupted the Bundy defense operation more effectively if he had been paid by the Feds to do it -- which wouldn't surprise me if he was. But then how can we know when he doesn't present proof of who he really is?

A personal message to the agent provocateur calling himself "Ranger" "Ryan Payne" (or whatever your real name is).
Psalms Chapter 52
(1.) Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. (2.) Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. (3.) Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. (4.) Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. (5.) God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away , and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah. (6.) The righteous also shall see , and fear , and shall laugh at him: (7.) Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
So, Cliven Bundy's a racist? I still stand between the Bundy family and the armed federal bureaucrats who would kill them if they could.
From Will Grigg: "Alleged racist Cliven Bundy, seen here dropping everything to play with a little brown child."
While I was at the Bundy Ranch on the 19th, I heard that a New York Times reporter who turned out to be Adam Nagourney was in camp seeking an interview with Cliven Bundy. I sought him out and found him and his photographer at the stage area that had been used the day before down by the river for the barbeque. The regular 1:00 PM press conference was in session, and the NYT was the only "press" there, although these sessions have lately been the vehicle by which folks who come to visit get to ask questions of Mr. Bundy.
I knew instantly that Nagourney's presence meant trouble because the NYT only sends regulars like him when the Mandarin class wants to craft a narrative. I was standing to the rear of the crowd while this was going on, so I didn't hear much. After it was over I approached Nagourney about the speeches that would be given at five o'clock, including my own regarding the Jenny Award. I gave him my card. He demurred, saying that he had a deadline and wouldn't be able come to back for the Oath Keeper presentation. He did seem quite rushed. I was perplexed when the article didn't appear the next day, or the next. I should have realized that he already had his story and that the editors were merely reworking it to seek the maximum political damage that it could do to the "enemies of the people" such as Rand Paul.
Finally, the Grey Lady grunted, strained, and produced this misshapen meme-progeny: "A Defiant Rancher Savors the Audience That Rallied to His Side."
Then began the howling, and the running in all directions away from Cliven Bundy as if his hair was on fire. The corrupt Senator Palpatine immediately jumped on it with both feet: Harry Reid Issues Statement On "Hateful Racist" Cliven Bundy
April 24, 2014 | Press Release“This is not a game.”Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today on racist comments by Cliven Bundy reported by the New York Times.“I used to live in North Las Vegas and it is home to some of the hardest-working people I have ever met – men and women who embody the American dream by working hard every day to build a better life for themselves and their families. By contrast, Cliven Bundy has spent decades profiting off government land while refusing to pay the same fair use fees as his fellow ranchers. Today, Bundy revealed himself to be a hateful racist. But by denigrating people who work hard and play by the rules while he mooches off public land he also revealed himself to be a hypocrite.“To advance his extreme, hateful views, Bundy has endangered the lives of innocent women and children. This is not a game. It is the height of irresponsibility for any individual or entity in a position of power or influence to glorify or romanticize such a dangerous individual, and anyone who has done so should come to their senses and immediately condemn Bundy. For their part, national Republican leaders could help show a united front against this kind of hateful, dangerous extremism by publicly condemning Bundy.“The bottom line is that elected officials and those in positions of power or influence have a responsibility to unite behind the basic principle that we are a country of laws, and that whatever our differences, it is unacceptable for individuals to use violence or the threat of violence to advance their radical views.”
My initial reaction was not very charitable. I told a friend, "It takes an awful long knife to slit your own throat and those of the people standing next to you in one slash." Some of my best friends were equally pissed off, with one saying, "I don't despise him because he's a racist, I despise him because he's stupid." But another long-time friend provided more wisdom: "Cliven Bundy may be a racist but that's beside the point." Which is exactly true.
With my problems of being on the road, changing computers, etc., others beat me to this observation, notably William Grigg: For Progressives, “Thoughtcrime” is Worse than Mass Murder.
And Pat Dollard discovered that the Nagourney story was not entirely honest in the full context of Mr. Bundy's remarks: "HOAX EXPOSED: Full Clip Of Cliven Bundy’s Non-Racist, Pro-Black, Pro-Mexican, Anti-Government Remarks Vs. NYTimes’ Deceptively Edited Version."
Perhaps the best reaction came from Kira Davis: “Who cares? He could believe Bette Midler is the 12th Imam, it doesn’t change the fact that the government has sent SWAT teams to collect a tax bill from a free citizen." Here is the video link and here is the YouTube video:
Now as I have written before, my anti-racist credentials are second to none, having fought the Aryans, the Klan and other FBI-controlled creatures for decades at street level, where it costs. I also am painfully aware of the demonization that is always used to justify the federal murder of innocents like Sammy & Vicki Weaver ("white separatists") and the Davidians ("child molesting religious fanatics").
So when they say that Cliven Bundy's a racist, I have to respond that I still must stand between the Bundy family and the armed federal bureaucrats who would kill them if they could. That is my job as a member of the armed citizenry and I will be there until Cliven Bundy demonstrates that he doesn't want me there or the threat is past. This is not in the end about public relations (although such incidents make that more difficult), but about principle and principle is a hard task master.
Here's a couple of ideas about Ukraine.
Now we all know that the United States guaranteed the sovereignty of the Ukraine at the time we talked them into giving up their nukes. We also know that Obama is going to let Putin do what he wants despite the fact that he is in the same position as Hitler was in the Rhineland -- if anybody calls his bluff with credible military force he'll have to pull back because the modern portion of his so-called "revitalized" army is so few and thinly equipped that he can't afford to lose any state-of-the-art armored vehicles or aviation assets. We also know that if he were to get Russia involved in another Afghanistan he would be overthrown. So, what the Ukrainians need more than anything is credible deterrence in the form of Javelin anti-tank missiles and comparable MANPAD surface to air missles that are manufactured by us -- and the Israelis. Now Obama is not going to do that because it actually might work, and the Europeans are too scared of disrupting the supply of their natural gas, but there is no reason why the Israelis couldn't.
Think about it. The Israelis could strike back at the biggest supporter of Hezbollah and the Syrians using the hand of the Ukrainians. A post-Putin Russia would not be in a position or a mood to back the hand that threatens the Golan. Israeli backing of the Ukrainians would discredit the anti-Semite faction within Ukraine and Ukraine's Jews would become instantly popular overnight. Like Israel's quiet assistance to the Kurds, they become the friend of all the little countries fighting neighborhood bullies, strengthening their hand in the UN. The benefits would be so great that the Ukrainians wouldn't even have to pay the Israelis in anything other than energy credits redeemable at a later date.
One final thought that the Ukrainians might use to motivate the Europeans. As Frank Herbert noted in Dune, the power to destroy a thing is the power to control a thing. If they are sold out by the Euros, it would be the simplest of things to blow up those Russian pipelines that pass through their territory -- a place famous for using guerrilla warfare in causes good and bad over the centuries. Pipelines are, by their very nature, absolutely indefensible from such attacks. Sell us out, the Ukrainians can say, and we'll make sure you freeze your asses off next winter regardless. Power to the Fremen.
I ran these ideas past a graduate of the United States Military Academy at dinner the other night and he pronounced them sound, if risky. What have the Ukrainians, or the Israelis for that matter, got to lose?
Old Yellowstain Boehner "mocks GOP colleagues on immigration reform." The Taliban reluctantly turns down the chance to kill an infidel dog.
"Boehner's appearance in Butler County Thursday was part of a barnstorming effort in his home district leading up to the primary. . . He was in Afghanistan last week." You'll LOVE his comments on the tea party. Pretty ironic coming from the traitorous dog who short-circuited the Fast & Furious investigation when he allowed the FBI to blackmail him.
No doubt in Afghanistan he swapped tips with Karzai on how to be a more corrupt politician and left the Taliban sighing with barely suppressed frustration -- "Yes, we WANT to kill the infidel dog, Atash, but he is doing the Americans more harm than good right where he's at. Don't pull the trigger."

Production delays & "The Virgins."
I was persuaded by readers that I trust that I needed to ditch the old Dell laptop after the TSA played with it. Hard drive was ground up to prevent being set up on whatever BS charge they thought they could manufacture. Had to spend $400 on a cheap replacement at local store chosen randomly. It will get me through the next little bit until I get home and can do better, hopefully, in the near future. Thanks for your patience in dealing with the delays on my emails, etc. Hopefully I can get the new one up and running tomorrow after I make it to Indiana. Will be at the NRA convention, coming in Friday morning, staying a ways out on Friday night, then leaving Saturday night to return to Ohio and thence on Sunday back to Alabama. Can't guarantee I'll be able to post in the morning but I will try. You'll like the replacement ball cap I procured for the convention. The prags won't. ;-)
It is desert tan, with a III in the center. Above that is: "Bundy Ranch Siege." Below is "It ain't about cows." On the back is: "Virgin River Volunteers." Since it will be immediately in commerce, no one else can steal the trademark. after I post the pictures (hopefully tomorrow) I'll tell you where you can get them. I am told that some Three Percenters out in NV on the line are already calling themselves "the Virgins," with one telling me they ought to adopt the name, "Vanderboegh's Virgins." Anybody with the stones to wear a hat or a patch like that deserves kudos for his bravery. or lack of sense.

The Siege of Bundy Ranch goes on, and so does the need for volunteers, money and supplies, especially -- at the moment -- camo netting.
As I wrote here, The Siege of Bundy Ranch goes on. So does the need for volunteers, money and supplies. I have dubbed the Three Percenters in the desert the "Virgin River Volunteers." "The Virgins" and the Oath Keepers have a particular need at the moment for camouflage netting to provide shade for the troop and operations areas as well as fighting positions. I have a feeling that there's a lot of that sort of thing out there in barns and garages left over from the 90s that is surplus to us aging old fart's needs. You might have netting but no poles and spreaders or poles and spreaders but ne netting. That's all right. If you will drop me an email if you have anything you wish to donate, I will see that it gets matched up with needs on the ground, transportation assets to move it there, etc. The Oath Keepers intends to use such assets and equipment after the Bundy operation is concluded for other such needs as they arise. No one is going to profit from your generosity except the prospective victims of federal violence and the volunteers who desperately need the shade.
In addition, we need experienced logistical veterans -- personnel, food service, communications, S-4 planners, heck, even clerks and drivers. If you will drop me an email, I will hook you up with the right Oath Keeper contacts at the Bundy Ranch Siege so you can schedule your next vacation in sunny south Nevada, a short hop from the R&R mecca of Lost Wages. (Did I make it sound artificially cheery enough? -- The important operative word in the above is "scheduled". There have been appeals to rush out with all assets, without much thought to the mundane necessities of working out vacation time from your job, permission of wives and sweethearts, and the needs of the operation for a consistent, flowing turnover of volunteers.)
There is history being made out in the Nevada desert, folks. You may recall these lines from the Bard:
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
The Lord works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform.
Photo of the crowd I would have addressed if the Buckeyes hadn't thrown me out of the meeting. I think the Bundy Ranch worked out more than a little bit better.

On the ground, back in Ohio (of course the airline "lost" my luggage for a time courtesy of the TSA).
Back in central Ohio. Got into Port Columbus around midnight Eastern, only to be informed that the airline "lost" my luggage. Not to worry, they said, because they knew where it was, they would just have to deliver it to where I was staying today. Right. Of all the passengers, mine were the only two bags (both of them, including the computer) "misplaced." Got them back early this afternoon with a nice "TSA inspected" ticket inside them. Searched them for dope, kiddie porn and explosives -- nothing obvious, not even the doughnut crumbs from the TSA inspector's lips. (However I haven't had time to look at the computer files.) I'll have to get me a new laptop when I can, I think, and I've already thrown away the medicines. Same with the tea bags. If they ever do decide they've had enough of me they'll try to make it look like natural causes.
I'll take the rest of the day to decompress and try to internalize and evaluate the incredible experiences of the past days. I've met some wonderful folks, not the least of whom were the Bundys. It will take me a while to go through my emails and release comments to the blog and I've only got an hour on the library computer. More later, if possible.

Gunfire at Easter in the desert. It ain't over until it's over. The tripwire in the Virgin River Valley.
From Ephesians Chapter Six:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Yesterday, I spent a blessed Easter in the desert of Nevada on the banks of the Virgin River. At ten in the morning, Ryan Bundy led a service of prayer, reflection and testimony at the gooseneck trailer/stage that had served as my speaker's platform the day before. It was a simple service, exquisitely beautiful in its simplicity and sincerity. Folks got up and shared what was on their hearts as God chose to move them, and I did so as well. It is my firm belief that it is impossible not to see the hand of God in the events of the past weeks. As I was speaking, semi-automatic rifle fire echoed from the hills above the river. The volunteers were going through a morning training exercise. It seemed to profane the day and the moment, yet it was a poignant reminder of the situation that the Bundys find themselves thrust into in the name of principle, a reminder of the evil that prowls right outside their door, and of the necessity of good men and women from all over the country to stand between them. God, I observed to the small gathering, might forgive us for the seemingly disrespectful interruption, knowing of that necessity.
Jerry DeLemus
After the service, I hitched a ride up the road to the volunteer base camp, where Jerry, the tactical commander of the Oath Keeper-supported security force led another service for the troops from Chapter Six of Ephesians. Somehow, hearing Paul's words about pulling on the full armor of God there, in that setting, as I looked from one face to the other of these volunteers -- who have come so far and risked so much already and who still risk all in a confrontation of right and wrong with the militarized police forces of the most powerful government on the planet -- I shuddered with the power of the image, the emotion of that moment, unchanging since the Founding, immortal in its moral force.
There is a feeling among those who merely pay attention to the news cycle that this is somehow over, that the potential for disaster has been averted. It has not. The men and women dug in on the banks of the Virgin River understand that and are in it for the long haul. It ain't over until it's over. The defensive operation, almost despairingly comic in its early days of confusion, is coming together now. Volunteers come in, others leave, but will be back. The logistics, fueled by the generous donations of money and material from all over the country, are coming together, as are the various "shops" of planning, operations, communications and support. The inevitable snitches, most of them painfully obvious, have nothing to report to their masters for no laws are being broken. The paid provocateurs are gradually tipping their hands as well. Jerry, his hardy band of mission-focused veterans, and the Oath Keepers and Three Percenters who form the teeth of the teams in overwatch and the muscle of the logistics tail are doing pretty well, thank you very much, despite all the psy-war games played by the Feds, including a regular but invisible bombardment of all of the various forms of our communications by the Feds. (Notice that we still haven't been able to get the videos of Saturday's speeches on YouTube? Your tax dollars at work.)
Today I must fly out of here, having helped, I hope, in my own small way. Left behind will be that determined minority of increasingly confident and competent volunteers. I wish I didn't have to leave. My instincts cry out to stay. But I have other duties that must be seen to. Yet, I know I will be back. These men and women are where God placed them at this precise moment and place in history, carrying out the function of that "well-regulated militia" that the Founders intended to defend the people in times such as these. They represent the shield, the armor, of a free people. They are also a tripwire. The Feds must go through them -- they must kill them -- to get to the Bundys. The Feds know this, and they are hesitant about what will happen if they try. That is called strategic uncertainty. And in the present context, that is a very good thing. They need to be cautious.
So I fly out today. But the volunteers are digging in along the Virgin River for the long haul. I have a feeling that they will still be there when I get back, keeping the Bundys safe from the evil intentions of armed bureaucrats. And as the sun rose over the desert on Easter Sunday, it was brought home to me by those twin services that here is a cause worth living for and returning to -- it is a cause worth fighting and dying for as well. Jerry and his volunteers of indomitable spirit know this. They have taken the measure of the situation, the weight of their duty, and they have acted.
They are digging in along the Virgin River -- a fragile human tripwire arrayed against an out-of-control imperial federal government that ought to know better. They are digging in, and they need your support, in whatever way you can give it.

Need some help finding an article in the NYT. Also, still need a copy of one of the many photos of Harry's Jenny award.
New York Times reporter Adam Nagourney and a photographer were covering the Bundy press conference yesterday at 1:00 PM. I'm certain that they were on a deadline so there should be an article in Sunday's NYT. As the NYT is a pay site only now, if a reader has a copy of the article would you please forward it to my email? GeorgeMason1776@aol.com. Also, I still need a copy of one of the many photos of Harry's Jenny award and links to any YouTube videos of yesterday's event.
He is risen.
If I can get a ride from the hotel, I'll be spending Easter in the desert. The Bundys are having a service at 10:00. I'd like to be there and then go cast my lot once more with the hardy band of defenders at the river. I think God will be understanding about necessary breaches of the Sabbath in the service of liberty.
"They know we're coming." With piss-poor operational security, Feds flood the zone at Las Vegas hotels in massive display of gambling prowess.
"They know, Chuck, they know. They know we're coming." -- ATF undercover agent Robert Rodriguez to raid commander Chuck Sarabyn, 28 February 1993, one hour before the raid on the Branch Davidians.
"It is of no concern. Soon the Rebellion will be crushed."
Looking like nothing so much as the evil-eaten Emperor Palpatine from the Star Wars saga, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has promised local media that "this isn't over." And, in truth, reports on the Internet of Fed cops of various agencies' jack-booted thug teams flooding into Las Vegas hotels are certainly correct. They are there by the hundreds, taking over entire floors, playing the slot machines and trying to look inconspicuous, which is working out about as well as you might expect. This is known to just about everybody who's paying attention to the situation in Bunkerville, including the local media who are not reporting it, for now. Just who this demonstration of stark naked so-called "operational security" and impotent puffery is supposed to impress is another matter. Harry Reid, perhaps. Bob Wright has observed that Harry seems to believe he's in a "biggest dick" contest with Cliven Bundy. Like the juvenile high school hall monitor who can't get the other kids to stop running, Harry is throwing a hissy fit. Personally, I'm happy for him. Every time Harry opens his mouth, we get another hundred thousand converts to our cause nationwide. Indeed, if the mumbling, bumbling Harry did not exist, we might have to invent him. Of course, your average high school hall monitor doesn't have the power and might of the militarized federal police establishment at his beck and call. Still, what this is supposed to accomplish, beyond a ratcheting up of the attempted psy-war campaign against the Bundys and the volunteers who guard them, is a mystery to the analysts I talk to.
I know that the Bundys are not going away, and neither are the volunteers. Unless the federal government has decided to kill them all and initiate the next American civil war, this is all just your tax dollars at work in a massive display of gambling prowess.
That potential conflict, as I have explained many times would be suicidal, both personally for Harry Reid and and for his mandarin class. And as long as even one closet Oath Keeper or Three Percenter in the federal ranks remains -- and there are many -- the feds know that there is no military option that cannot be compromised. So Emperor Harry can go on muttering about how "soon the rebellion will be crushed," and the storm troopers can continue to dip their wicks in the soft envelopments of Vegas hookers, but it is all hat and no cattle, as they say out here. They may be fooling themselves, but they do not fool the hardy band of determined patriots dug in along the banks of the Virgin River.
Photos and video from the Patriot's Day event.
Other then the image below I have as yet received none of the photos and video from folks at yesterday's event. I was counting on at least one photo of the Jenny Award but so far haven't received any. When I get them, or the links to the speech video, I will pass them along. Folks who were there say that I did a good job with the speech, but I am always my own worst critic. I will prepare you for one shock, though. I'm wearing a cowboy hat. I misplaced my "Arms Smuggler" ballcap in a friend's car, it drove off to Utah without me, and it wasn't an event that my boonie hat seemed appropriate for, so I borrowed a cowboy hat to keep the setting sun out of my eyes.
The troublemaker, the sheriff and the oath keeper.
Mike Vanderboegh, Elkhart County Indiana Sheriff Bradley Rodgers and Stewart Rhodes at the Patriot's Day celebration, Bunkerville, NV, 19 April 2014.
Saturday, April 19, 2014
"You mess with such people at your own deadly peril." My Patriot's Day Speech in Bunkerville Nevada Upon the Occasion of Harry Reid Winning the 2014 "Incitement to Civil War Trophy."
My name is Mike Vanderboegh and I'm here representing the estimated 3 million Three Percenters around the country. I don't represent the Bundys nor the Oath Keepers but we are here to stand with them. I first would like to say what an honor it is for me to be here in Nevada on this Patriots' Day. Although I hale these days from the great free state of Alabama, I was born in Michigan and have always considered myself a Wolverine.
You know when I was ten or so, I visited my Grandpa and Grandma Vanderboegh's farm near Lake Michigan one summer for several weeks as we did every summer when I was growing up. That particular
summer, I witnessed a short but acrimonious argument between my grandparents that ended with my grandpa's ignominious retreat out of the house into the safety of the barnyard. I can't remember what the argument was about, but I followed along, convinced in my ten-year-old sense of justice that he was right and grandma was wrong. I tried to persuade him to go back in and restate his case. He turned on me, leaned down into my face and said these words of wisdom that I never forgot: "Son, you don't poke a wolverine with a sharp stick unless you want your balls ripped off."
Now I was just ten but I knew that Grandpa was somewhat of an expert about wolverines and testicles because when he was young, he'd run into a momma wolverine in her den when he was out hunting and she had darn near got his. His shotgun was knocked out of his hands and he had to kill that wolverine with his hunting knife but almost bled to death from the wound on his inner thigh before he could stagger home. My father used to delight in telling the story about how he almost got prevented from existence by the inch or so that that momma wolverine had missed the family jewels. I also knew that Grandpa wasn't talking about vicious animals but that people could act just as bad if you provoked them. People can be wolverines when they need to. I think y'all know a little about that. I'm sure that the BLM rangers were grateful they got out of Clark County with their testicles intact -- even if their manhood was somewhat shamed in the process.
"History is written not by the historians but by the people who lived it."
So says William Hallahan, in his book The Day the American Revolution Began about the 19th of April, 1775. And as I stand here today in the Nevada desert, I see a whole host of historians who lived it --and wrote it.
Now what Hallahan says is true, but I would refine it further. History is written not by the historians BUT BY THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED IT AND WHO MADE IT HAPPEN.
This is nothing new. Throughout our own history, these self-made historians are most often just simple, ordinary people, people who are nothing special - not rich, not powerful in and of themselves, not influential, not even respected by those who claim to be their betters -- but people who know who they are; people who know who God is; people who know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, tyranny and liberty and cannot be persuaded otherwise by all the seductive lies that others tell to hide their evil intentions behind.
In ordinary times it takes very bad behavior on the part of a government to provoke such people into action for they are first and foremost pragmatic realists.Knowing who they are, and how the world works, and of the chronic follies and corruptions of man, they don't expect much from governments, content to live their lives, raise their families, enjoy life and love and friendship, to worship God, to work hard and make a living around and despite those follies and corruptions, because they understand that THAT is what makes life important and worth living.
When a father sees his kids at play, learning with breathless excitement the everyday miracles that make up God's world -- when he sees his wife's love and care for them in a million ways despite all the aggravations and distractions of daily life -- when at the end of a long day he sees her exhausted and distracted -- no longer the young girl he married but with this inner core of steel wrapped in boundless love -- when the light hits her mussed-up hair and her careworn face just right -- well, a man will do anything to protect those moments, to shield those people he loves from the evil that he knows always lurks right outside the door. He will do anything -- ANYTHING -- to protect their future and the time-tested principles that secure that future.
And I tell you now -- and I proclaim to the world -- to all the would-be tyrants in this country who would victimize such honest, simple people with their evil corruptions, their follies, their schemes of power and their insatiable appetites for other people's liberty, property and lives --
YOU MESS WITH SUCH PEOPLE AT YOUR OWN DEADLY PERIL.
Yes, history is written by the people who lived it and made it happen, but it is also true that such people , at any time in our history, never have been more than a determined minority. In the war of independence that we celebrate here today, there were never more than three percent of the American colonists who actively
took the field against the forces of the King. Although this was long before opinion polls, they probably represented no more than a third of the total population. Another third supported the King of England and a further third blew with the wind and took what came. When I founded the modern Three Percent movement it was this determined minority that I had in mind.
Today's Three Percent have drawn a line, just as you here drew a line, that we will not cross. We Three Percenters state very plainly to would-be tyrants that we will not disarm. They cannot convince us. They cannot intimidate us. They can kill us, if they think they can, but they should remember that we'll shoot back. That is the calculation that you presented the federal government the other day. They came to force you with state-sponsored violence. They came to bend you to their will. But they discovered that you would not be bent. On that day, they didn't like the odds. But the odds would have meant nothing without your determination. And you WERE determined.
As I said, in ordinary times it takes very bad behavior on the part of a government to provoke such people into action -- BUT THESE ARE NO ORDINARY TIMES. You know that -- in your head and in your gut -- or you would not be here today. You would not have accomplished what many thought was flatly impossible a few days and weeks ago. You know why you came here and stood in the gap, interposing with your own bodies, at the risk of your lives, that dangerous ground between liberty and tyranny.
You know in your inner hearts why each of you came here, I need not explain it to you. Nor am I going to waste your time running down the particulars of the general indictment of the very bad behavior of the federal government and their lackeys at the state and local level over the past two decades by the corrupt leaders of both political parties. Others have done so, as I have done myself in other places and times. It is not necessary here, today, to bore you with the litany of evil actions and malign intent of the self-appointed Mandarin class of collectivists who have been quietly and slowly overthrowing the rule of law and the Founders' Republic for generations now.
What IS necessary is to state the obvious conclusion of that indictment very plainly -- that our present-day so-called leaders have demonstrated themselves to be the domestic enemies of the same Constitution that they swore an oath to uphold -- they are, in fact, the same domestic enemies that the Founders warned us about, that they knew in their wisdom -- from their study of history and their knowledge of fallible men -- who would one day come to try to wreck the enterprise of liberty that the Founders fought and bled and died to secure. And one further point -- being domestic enemies of the Constitution and the rule of law these evil men and women have declared thereby that they are the enemies of ALL the futures, of ALL the lives, and of ALL the families of those simple, decent people -- of you and me and all who have until now tolerated their increasingly bad behavior.
Indeed, it is because we never effectively pushed them back when we could do so without violence that we find ourselves here, today, with the Founders' original choice on that 19th of April so long ago: are we going to submit and be slaves or shall we fight? And you, you self-made historians, answered that question here, in the desert, in direct confrontation with the paid lackeys of the most powerful government on the planet. You were ready to fight, and to die, in answer to that question. For you are free Americans, all of you. And as you stood, the other side blinked, and hesitated, and then ran.
You know, we ourselves are as responsible for the present sorry state of affairs as the collectivist revolutionaries who now hold the reins of power and who sent the BLM thugs against the Bundys. For decades we never punched them in the nose when we had the chance so they kept pushing us back from the traditional exercise of our God-given, natural and inalienable rights to liberty and property that the Constitution doesn't create but merely codifies. We never punched them in the nose, politically or otherwise, we just backed up, grumbling.
Now our backs are to the wall, and it is going to take more than a punch in the nose to recover our lost rights and to dispel this clear and present danger to ourselves, our children and all of our futures. The collectivists -- who respect and obey NO law that they disagree with --have skillfully used our "law-abidingness" against us. But now they have mistaken our previous inaction for a license to further oppress us. Now, it will take more than a punch in the nose to discourage them.
From Nevada to Colorado to New York and various places in between, they have decided to declare us "law breakers" thinking that once again we will knuckle under. They discovered here in the Nevada desert -- and they will contiue to discover it elsewhere -- that the law protects them from us far more than it protects us from them. The only question is, what will be the cost of their education now compared to what it would have been had we come together and acted earlier?
They blinked and retreated here, for now. They will try again, if not here then in some other place for some other flimsy tyrannical excuse, some other evil wrapped in an allegedly benevolent lie. Rest assured, they will try again. And we must be ready. We must remain vigilant.
But however we arrived at this place, we ARE here, now, and there is no changing it. When you stood beneath the bridges we -- all of us, all across the country -- in those long moments we were staring civil war in the face. All over this country at this moment WE ARE STILL STARING CIVIL WAR IN IT'S BLOODY FACE. To believe otherwise is to whistle past the graveyard of our own history. We have, to use the blunt words of my Michigan farmer Grandpa Vanderboegh, arrived at "nut cuttin' time."
John Locke said it first and best in his Second Treatise on Government:
“Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience and are left to the common refuge, which God hath provided for all men, against force and violence.”
Now Locke wrote that in the 18th Century, but is there a better description of what the federal government is trying to do here in the west in the 21st Century than that? Is there a more accurate description of what the states of Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland and New York are attempting to do to their own people with firearm registration and confiscation? They have "put themselves into a state of war with the people" and we, the people, are absolved by their tyrannical actions from any further obedience.
This is not about tortoises and cattle. It is not about who controls the vast lands claimed by the federal government. It is not about "the children" or "common-sense gun safety" or any of the many lies that are spun to conceal the iron fist of arbitrary power.
It is about control. It is about who serves whom. We are divided now, as they were in 1775, by the answer to the most fundamental of questions: Does the government serve the people or do the people serve the government? Who serves whom? What do you think?
Right. Now we believe, as did the Founders, that government should serve the people. It is evident that many others believe differently. But this is not a question whose differing answers can be compromised, or negotiated or finessed. It is one or the other -- that of individual liberty codified by the Constitution and the rule of law under the Founders' republic, or the rule of man as represented by the law of the jungle backed up by the iron fist of tyrannical government.
Harry Reid understands this. You all saw what he said the other day: "This isn't over," he threatened. And you know what? He's right. It can never be over until one side or the other wins. And don't think he's just talking about the Bundys. He is promising us all civil war on a vast scale because state-sponsored violence is the only way they can win the argument with free people, especially free people who are armed and willing to use those arms in defense of liberty. Ole Dirty Harry understands that. But he mistakes the character of the people he wishes to victimize and subjugate. He mistakes you. He mistakes the true nature of all free Americans who intend to remain free. And history has shown that mistake to be a terminal one for many tyrants. For there are laws higher and older than any of Harry Reid's unconstitutional "laws," one of which is the Law of Unintended Consequences.
You know back in Alabama we understand a thing or two about civil wars. We not only fought IN the War Between the States, but we fought a war WITHIN our state, between former friends and neighbors, and there is no conflict more ghastly. When the perfumed princes of the Mandarin Class that seeks to rule you propose to make to you knuckle under to their unconstitutional will, they forget these things. They forget that wars once started, especially civil wars, have a way of spinning out of control of the war makers, a way of eating up the guilty and the innocent alike and they engender hatreds that never go away.
Were Harry Reid right here in front of me -- assuming I could keep y'all from tar and feathering him for a moment -- I'd tell him a story from Alabama's civil war, a story of Jenny Brooks' soap dish, a story that has particular relevance for him today. Like all the best stories it has the advantage of being true.
When the United States government determined to remove the Indian tribes from our state in what became the Trail of Tears, the woman who became known as Jenny Brooks, and later after her remarriage as Aunt Jenny Johnson, was a just slip of a girl, a full-blooded Cherokee whose family declined the honor of obeying the "lawful orders" of the the federal government and hid themselves up in the mountains of north Alabama. In this, they were assisted by a family friend, a white man named Henry Brooks. As might be expected, the young girl fell in love with her family's saviour, and later, at the age of 14, she married Henry, a man 20 years her senior. But the marriage "took", as they say in the hills, and by the time this story really begins in 1863, Jenny was herself in her thirties and she had given Henry eight children, four of whom were boys.
Now Henry Brooks was a unionist like most of his neighbors and they had sent an anti-secession delegate to the convention down in Montgomery in 1861, a young school teacher named Chris Sheats. When Sheats refused to vote for the Confederacy, he was beaten and jailed by his fellow delegates, and was released after the so-called "unanimous vote" to go back to the hills with the planters' warning that there was plenty more where that came from. Sheats and the mountain folk of north Alabama tried to be left alone, just as today we want to be left alone, but the government, with its draft laws and tax-in-kind laws that stole food out of the mouths of their children, wouldn't let them alone.
Those of you who have seen the movie Cold Mountain will recognize a fragment of this story which was borrowed from the Brooks' saga, but that was fiction shoe-horned into a love story. This is a love story, all right, but of a different sort.
One day in 1863, a Confederate Home Guard party of eight men, duly sworn and heavily armed "law officers" of the Confederate state and national governments came riding down the Byler Road to the Brooks' home place. They surprised Henry Brooks, disarmed him, and began to torture the old man for the whereabouts of his 17 year old son so they could carry the boy off to the war as an unwilling conscript. Brooks refused to tell them, so they threw a rope around his neck and alternately raised and lowered him from a tree in his front yard, torturing him to tell. The boy, who was hiding in the barn, couldn't stand it and ran out only to be shot to death by the Home Guard. They then turned their weapons on Henry Brooks still hanging in the tree and "shot him all to pieces." Jenny and the other seven children were forced to stand and watch as her husband and son, their father and brother, were murdered. When the Home Guard left, they were laughing.
They were laughing because they mistook the character of the people they victimized. They mistook the character of Jenny Brooks.
After Jenny had lowered her husband's body out of the tree and laid it out beside that of her oldest son, she gathered her three remaining sons (the youngest one was still suckling at her breast), and had them swear a Cherokee blood oath -- or swore it for them -- that they would not rest until all eight of those murderers -- those duly-appointed law enforcement officers carrying out the will of their government -- were dead. This began a forty year feud, the last shots of which were fired in McCurtain County Oklahoma in 1904. In the end, Jenny Brooks had her reckoning -- she kept track of it on a hickory stick.
On that stick were 7 big notches (the eighth man disappeared, abandoned his family and property, changed his name, and was never seen in north Alabama again). Interspersed between the big notches were 24 little notches, men, friends, family and neighbors of the Home Guardsmen, who had the misfortune to get in the way of the Brooks' clan and their prey. So that stick represented 31 dead men. Along the way, Jenny lost all her sons but one and several sons-in-law, to the feud, but she counted herself as satisfied.
Jenny got the first one herself, the leader of the bunch, when she ambushed him a few months later as he rode out from his house, shooting him from his horse. She dragged him off into the woods, took out her kitchen knife, cut the man's head off and put in a tote sack. She carried that grisly trophy home, threw it in the lye boiling pot that she used to make soap, cooked it all away until she had nothing left but the man's brain pan, minus even the jawbone. She then turned it upside down and used it as a soap dish for the rest of her life.
True story.
Jenny lived on into her nineties, outliving all her sons, and in later years converted to Christianity and became known by the honorific of Aunt Jenny. She did many good works for the poor in Winston County, and when she was dying hundreds of her church friends and extended family gathered around her cabin to pay homage to the woman who had become the patron saint of the mountain Unionists. When the moment of her passing was near, her pastor asked Jenny if there was anything else they could do for her, anything else she wanted, fishing, probably, for a confession of her sins.
"Yes," she said weakly, "I'd like to wash my hands." And so they brought Jenny a pan of water and her soap dish and she washed her hands one last time in that murderer's brain pan before she crossed over to meet God.
That's Winston County Alabama, where Aunt Jenny's descendants still live in considerable numbers and still tell that story today with awe and with pride. That's what happens in a civil war, I would counsel Harry Reid. And I would caution him that civil wars haven't gotten any more civilized in the centuries since Jenny made her soap dish. So Harry and his federal friends -- the war makers and decision takers who think that the rest of us serve them and their power -- those who in Locke's words would put themselves into a state of war against their own people, should be careful what they wish for. For like the Home Guard who rode away laughing from the Brooks cabin in 1863, they might just unexpectedly get what they deserve.
And like the bully boys of the BLM, whose violent conduct earned themselves an armed response from an aroused people, they will be astonished when it happens. But that is only because they forgot the words of that most under-appreciated American poet and philosopher, Frank Zappa, who said in 1965:
Do you love it?
Do you hate it?
There it is,
The way you made it.
Hell, it is said, is the truth perceived too late to do anything about it.
Harry Reid calls us "domestic terrorists" and promises us "This isn't over." Based on the warning y'all gave him and his bully boys last week, he should fervently pray that it is. As for me, I will send him this soap dish, the "Jenny Brooks Trophy for Incitement to Civil War," as a reminder with this message:
Don't poke the wolverine with a sharp stick, Harry, unless you want your balls ripped off.
Thank you.
"Wolverines!"
Bundy supporters party, welcome ‘domestic terrorist’ label
“Are you guys domestic terrorists?” he asked the crowd gathered around a stage near the north bank of the Virgin River. The supporters, many wearing name tags that said “domestic terrorist,” erupted with cheers and applause.
Mike Vanderboegh said he will unveil the “2014 incitement to civil war trophy” to Reid on Saturday at the protest area.“Harry Reid said this ain’t over. You better believe this ain’t over,” said Vanderboegh, a self-described “Second Amendment activist” from Alabama.
Great day (lousy evening for me)
The press conference went well (video and photos when I get them). The Bundy BBQ was a great success. Unfortunately I had difficulty eating, puked and continued puking until I was able to get to a reader's car and lay down. I stayed there for four hours so I missed most of the festivities. Looking forward to the speech tomorrow. I intend to grab old Dirty Harry by the teat and twist. Every time he opens his mouth it is good for another 100,000 converts to our side. More tomorrow.

Don't do us any favors, you treasonous anal sphincter. "McKinney would give ‘deference’ to repeal of gun-control law."
Sen. John P. McKinney, a Republican who helped pass a bipartisan gun-control law after the Newtown school massacre in his district, tells a conservative audience in a video Democrats posted Wednesday that he would not block the law’s hypothetical repeal if elected governor.
McKinney told The Mirror Wednesday that his answer to a hypothetical question about a GOP takeover of the legislature and passage of a repeal bill was not a retreat from his support for the gun-control law.He said he made clear to the group he would not change his vote, nor would he seek repeal of the law as governor, positions he has staked out at other forums, including a televised debate.
Attention Indiana Threepers
Assuming Harry Ried's dirty minions allow me to leave the state of Nevada in one piece after tomorrow, ;-), I will be headed to Indianapolis next Thursday to cover the NRA convention. I would be interested to hear from Threepers in the Indianoplis area regarding some planning for that visit. Please drop me an email at GeorgeMason1776@aol.com.
Sheriff Mack's assertion about pre-planning of the cynical use of women and kids at the Bundy confrontation is flat wrong.
There are those who say that, like Ronald Reagan's dictum about members of the GOP, "thou shalt speak no evil about leaders in the patriot movement." I am not one of them, especially when what they do or say is in direct contravention of the truth and the principles that we are supposed to be fighting for.
I first heard about this video on the way out to Nevada.
“We were actually strategizing to put all the women up at the front,” he said. “If they are going to start shooting, it’s going to be women that are going to be televised all across the world getting shot by these rogue federal officers.”
Our enemies immediately jumped on this.
Even the Washington Times reported it, "Former sheriff willing to let wife, daughters die on front lines of Bundy ranch," as did The Blaze. The collectivist ThinkProgress reported gleefully: "Allies Of Lawless Rancher Planned To Put Women ‘Up At The Front’ If Showdown With Feds Turned Violent."
As did the Huffington Post: Ex-Sheriff Wanted 'Women In Front' In Case Of Shootout With Feds."
And of course Dirty Harry Reid was all over this "evidence" of our side's "terrorism": "Reid calls Bundy supporters ‘domestic terrorists’
U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on Thursday called supporters of Bunkerville rancher Cliven Bundy “domestic terrorists” because they defended him against a Bureau of Land Management cattle roundup with guns and put their children in harm’s way. . . According to Reid, some protesters said they had “children and women lined up because if anyone got hurt we wanted to make sure they got hurt first, because we want the federal government hurting women and children. … What if others tried the same thing?”
There's only one problem with Mack's statement. IT WASN'T TRUE. Later Mack tried to walk it back, a bit, in this interview with Ben Swann: Did Bundy Ranch Protesters Put Women Between Themselves and Armed Federal Agents?
“It was a tactical ploy that I was trying to get them to use.” says Mack. Mack goes on to clarify that the ploy was not adopted and that he was not on the scene during the standoff. He continued by saying that he would risk his own life as well in taking a stand.“I would have been next. I would have been the next one to be killed. I’m not afraid to die here, I’m willing to die here. But the best ploy would have been to have had women in front because one, I don’t think they would have shot them. Two, if they had it would have been the best thing to show the rest of the world that these ruthless cowards will do anything they are told. If they are told to shoot they will shoot. Just like when they shot Vicki Weaver when they blew her head off in front of her little girl while she was holding a baby.” says Mack.
Even this "modified, limited hangout" wasn't true. I have spoken with folks who were in that meeting and they flatly deny that anything of the kind happened. One said "we were all blindsided by that when we saw the video later." Another said, "It didn't happen that I heard." Another speculated that the "strategizing" about using women and children as human shields must have occurred inside Mack's own head, saying, "I can tell you that I never heard Mack make such a proposal . . . and if he had it would have been shot down."
The cynical use of women and kids as shields is collectivist's tool of long-standing. For Mack to attribute it to people who were trying to plan for the preservation of innocent life if the BLM thugs used deadly violence is an insult. Why he did what he did and said what he said is mystifying to other participants, although they hesitate to publicly criticize him. The one thing that can be concluded is that he gave the enemies of liberty a big propaganda stick with which to beat the rest of us with. He ought to come clean about what and why he did what did and said what he said. My own conclusion is that he owes the people in that room a big apology.
Look what an FBI file full of blackmail buys you: Old Yellowstain Boehner Tells Attendees at Fundraiser He's 'Hellbent on Getting This Done'
House Immigration Bills Are Still in the Mix
Speaker John Boehner and other senior House Republicans are telling donors and industry groups that they aim to pass immigration legislation this year, despite the reluctance of many Republicans to tackle the divisive issue before the November elections. Many lawmakers and activists have assumed the issue was off the table in an election year. But Mr. Boehner said at a Las Vegas fundraiser last month he was "hellbent on getting this done this year," according to two people in the room.

Press Release: Harry Reid to be awarded 2014 Incitement to Civil War Trophy by citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh
PRESS RELEASE
17 April 2014Harry Reid to be awarded 2014 Incitement to Civil War Trophy by citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh
Senator Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, will be awarded the 2014 "Incitement to Civil War" Trophy by Alabama citizen journalist and Second Amendment activist Mike Vanderboegh at a ceremony at the Cliven Bundy Ranch on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Vanderboegh, who with fellow writer David Codrea first broke the Fast and Furious scandal story in a series on the Internet in December 2010 and January 2011, is in Nevada to show support for the Bundy family and their struggle with the federal government.
Said Vanderboegh, "When Dirty Harry Reid tells us that 'This isn't over' and calls the Bundys and their supporters "'domestic terrorists' he is using -- literally -- the 'bully pulpit' to solicit the next American civil war. Reid is a corrupt bully and he understands that this struggle is not about tortoises or cows or even the vast spaces of the American west claimed by the federal government, it is about power, federal power to use naked state-sponsored terrorism to compel the American people to do what the perfumed princes of Harry Reid's Mandarin class insist is for their own good, even if it kills them."
"It was the misbehavior and jack-booted thuggery of the Bureau of Land Management run by Reid's toady that motivated people to come to the Bundys' defense. This is about two fundamentally different answers to this question: 'Does the government serve the people as the Founders intended, or will the people be servants of the government?' Harry Reid believes that the people should serve the government -- or else. For inciting the federal government into planning for another Waco, Reid more than deserves this award."
Vanderboegh will have a further statement and will take questions tomorrow at the press venue down the road from the Bundy Ranch at 1:00 in the afternoon.
Mike Vanderboegh may be contacted at email: GeorgeMason1776@aol.com

Reid calls Bundy supporters ‘domestic terrorists’
Note well: "Reid, the Senate majority leader who is in Las Vegas during Congress’ Easter recess, said he understands there’s a federal task force being set up in order to deal with Bundy, and Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie is involved as well."
U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on Thursday called supporters of Bunkerville rancher Cliven Bundy “domestic terrorists” because they defended him against a Bureau of Land Management cattle roundup with guns and put their children in harm’s way.
“They’re nothing more than domestic terrorists,” Reid said during an appearance at a Las Vegas Review-Journal “Hashtags & Headlines” event at the Paris. “I repeat: what happened there was domestic terrorism.”The BLM shut down its weeklong roundup of Bundy’s cattle Saturday after an armed confrontation with militia members who had traveled to Southern Nevada.Bundy has not paid federal grazing fees for 20 years and owes about $1 million to the government.Reid, the Senate majority leader who is in Las Vegas during Congress’ Easter recess, said he understands there’s a federal task force being set up in order to deal with Bundy, and Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie is involved as well.“Clive Bundy does not recognize the United States,” Reid said. “The United States, he says, is a foreign government. He doesn’t pay his taxes. He doesn’t pay his fees. And he doesn’t follow the law. He continues to thumb his nose at authority.”Reid noted there are two court orders allowing BLM to conduct the roundup of Bundy’s 500 to 900 “trespass cattle.”“It is an issue we cannot let go, just walk away from,” Reid said.“There were hundreds, hundreds of people from around the country that came there,” Reid said. “They had sniper rifles in the freeway. They had weapons, automatic weapons. They had children lined up. They wanted to make sure they got hurt first … What if others tried the same thing?”
Pardon the delay, but I am now on the ground at the Bundy Ranch operation.
Didn't get in until I had been up for about 27 hours straight (no sleep on the planes because of screaming babies, sitting in an aisle seat and being mugged by lurching passengers and kamikaze beverage carts driven by insane stewardesses -- Delta, what can I tell you). My first few hours on scene were very instructive. Oath Keepers is doing a great job supporting the security operation with logistics and other support. Plenty of Oath Keepers and Three Percenters in the group. There is also an outer encampment that seems to be inhabited largely by fruits and nuts. The EBGs (evil bad guys) are certainly testing the perimeter and playing all sorts of psywar games -- which is being handled by competent folks in the security detail. The problem is that there are now too few to rotate out for rest -- and it is important that folks be fresh when faced with the various threats, especially those generated by the fruits and nuts. (Stewart Rhodes, who brought me from the airport around 0200HRS, immediately took over a post from a fatigued trooper for the rest of the night.) There is no margin for error, so fresh bodies are needed. Folks who have been holding back because of the uncertainty generated by some of the disinformation and press antics by the fruits and nuts need not worry. There are competent people in charge of the inner ring. My laptop's ability to mesh with wifi has gone by the wayside as I wasn't able to get on the Net at the Columbus and Atlanta airports. Now, having reported in, I'm going to get something to eat and then crash.

Sorry, no posts today. PS: Believe none of the damn disinformation that's been circulating about the "Feds strike back."
Outta time. Barely could get the comments released and I answered no emails either. Have to get to the airport in PS: Believe none of the damn disinformation that's been circulating about the "Feds strike back." time for TSA to fondle me, the perverts. Will take my computer and if they'll let me carry it on, I'll update as I can between flights. It looks like half my email is such crap and as far as I know there's not a bit of truth to it.

Up To One Million New Yorkers Seize Opportunity To Not Register Their Firearms Ahead of NY SAFE ACT Deadline
With the deadline set to take effect, the head of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence — one of the SAFE Act’s biggest proponents — said gun owners should be expected to follow the law. “They can make all the noise they want, but the law is the law,” said Leah Gunn Barrett, the group’s executive director.Yeah, after the conversations I had with some VERY militant New Yorkers at Knob Creek, all I can say is "good luck with that."
Let me rephrase that. Looks like I'll be spending Easter in the Nevada desert.
Which, if you think about, is as good a place as any. There'll be a get-together of some sort on Saturday the 19th where I will speak along with others. I'll give you more info when I have it. Looking forward to meeting some western Threepers.
Now that I have a nice hole in my schedule. .
.I've been invited to go out to Nevada to speak on 19 April. If I can swing the arrangements, I'll do it.

Regarding the rumors swirling about a second attempt on the Bundys.
Just talked with Stewart Rhodes and the Oath Keepers and the western politicians are interposing themselves between any threat and the Bundy's ranch, so if this is not some sort of disinformation deliberately planted to elicit a response, the feds will have to kill patriot leaders if they want the Bundys.
Well, that was interesting. I was just thrown out of an Ohio Carry (Central Chapter) meeting. My speech in Columbus on the 19th now apparently up in the air.
It's been a long day, folks. It was made longer by the following saga. You may recall that I was invited to speak at the Patriot's Day celebration at the Ohio Statehouse on the 19th. Since I am now up in Ohio and had yet to hear of any details or recent confirmation, I went to the library this afternoon to see if I could get ahold of the event organizers. You will note that the announcement indicates that Central Ohio Carry and Ohioans for Concealed Carry are both listed as being represented at the event. Since I could not find the email address of the fellow I originally talked to, and noting from the Ohio Carry website that the Central Ohio chapter was having a meeting tonight on the southeast side of Columbus, I determined that the easiest way to make contact was to show up at the meeting, find the fellow who had invited me and confirm some arrangements. It was an hour's drive away from where I am staying (which doesn't have Internet access, so I'm using the local library and Panera Bread's wifi) I figured, what the heck.
So down I drove, located the meeting site at a local buffet, and then came back at the appointed time. As the group filtered in there was no sign of the fellow who invited me, but the members indicated that he should be coming so I stuck around. None of them was familiar wuth my name, but that's okay, I get that all the time these days and accept it as a sign of the success of the idea (you may recall my reaction at the same thing happening in CT at last year's rally). There was some side conversation about whether or not this was to be a business meeting and it was decided by the half-dozen or so folks there that, no, "thank God," they would just have some conversation over the meal, so it was all very informal. I introduced myself and handed out some cards and listened as they talked about their plans for open carry events. I was especially interested in one that they were planning after the rally on Saturday, when they intended to march onto the campus of Ohio State and I indicated that I would be happy to come along. Like many such groups I've met across the country, they seemed sincere, intelligent and determined. It was when I went to get a refill on my hot tea (I declined to go the thirteen dollar tab for a meal, although the tea was three bucks) when everything went south.
Coming back to the table, an otherwise intelligent and sincere young man in a wheelchair was explaining to the group that "the Davidians had it coming" because "they were converting hand grenades and automatic weapons." Given that he seemed not to be old enough to even have been born in 1993 and sick of twenty years of that kind of crap from firearm-confiscating collectivists, I instantly saw red and blurted out (with what I admit was an absolute lack of tact), "That's bullshit!" He then went on to claim that the Davidians had also fired first. I said, "No they didn't. The ATF fired first. They shot the dogs as they always do." I also told the young man not to be blaming the victims. Now, I perfectly understand the reaction, but the crowd turned on me with a vengeance and indicated that I could take my objections walking and they threw me out of the meeting, such as it was. One of them (also probably in diapers when the FBI was immolating those innocents that he figured had it coming) said that I was a "crazy old douchebag," or words to that effect. I indicated that when they got ahold of the guy who had invited me to come up from Alabama to speak that he should get in touch with me and let me know if it had been a waste of time. Then I left.
So, having learned nothing that I needed to know and as ignorant as before I drove back to where I am staying. My speech, it would seem, is entirely up in the air. In truth, they had not invited me to their meeting and it was well within their rights to ask me to leave, so I really bear them no rancor. But some of them sure don't know shit from shinola about Waco.
