Doug Rink: "Armor of Light" just another stab at anti-gun indoctrination.

"The anti-gun lobby is trying to make the most of Abigail Disney's (Walt's grandniece) anti-gun documentary that tries to make the most of the premise that there's a contradiction between being an evangelical Christian who is anti-abortion and being pro-gun."
Disney's effort is not unlike propaganda of the late 1930s that sought to indoctrinate a viewpoint that it was immoral for Christians and Christian nations to arm in opposition to the rising Nazi or Japanese war machines. For those unfamiliar with the isolationist, anti-war propaganda of the 1930s, I recommend viewing Peace on Earth, an MGM cartoon from 1939 (As of this writing, Peace on Earth is available for viewing on YouTube). Would the world be a better place had Americans never "gunned up" and opposed conquests by Germany and Japan? For that matter, what would America be like today had America's Christian colonists followed the decrees of the king, been acquiescent to tyranny, and allowed British soldiers to disarm them before a revolution could take shape?
For a better understanding of the Biblical basis of Christian self defense, read Greg Hopkins' A Time To Kill. And for those of you in the Birmingham area, I am informed that Greg will be delivering a talk at Hoover Tactical Firearms on Thursday, 12 November at 6 PM. I'm sure he will have extra copies of his book to autograph and sell at that time.

Interesting theory, but not one I'd bet my life on.

Obama and Ryan: Covert collaborators

The Media’s Potemkin Village Starts to Topple

Bashing the media may not be a policy platform, but it’s nourishment and sustenance to a long-suffering conservative constituency which doesn’t much care whom or what is being bashed so long as somebody or something is being bashed. They’re tired of being punching bags, and especially tired of getting smacked around by folks like Reince Priebus (who approved the CNBC debacle), who are ostensibly on their side. And which is also why the cracks around the foundations of MSM hegemony are a bigger story than most realize.

Obama's IRS: "Where Criminals Go Free and Americans Fear Their Government"

It was no surprise DOJ announced it wasn't pressing charges, because after all, considering DOJ attorneys colluded with Lerner on efforts to throw at least one conservative leader in jail to send a message, they'd also have to bring charges against themselves.

O’Malley then segued into a pro-gun control bit, noting that Democrats have had a long discussion about gun safety. He hopes that some questions of that sort will be asked of the Republicans in their debates, especially why can’t we find a backbone to expand background checks and stand up to the National Rifle Association.

McKeithen blasts vote on open carry
Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen has come out against what he called a “secret ballot” vote taken by the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA) in which a majority of members opposed legislative action to allow open carry of firearms. The controversial proposal (Senate Bill 300) would allow anyone with a Florida concealed-weapons permit to carry that weapon openly wherever they’re allowed to carry concealed weapons. As the bill proceeded through part of the Legislature last week, the FSA released results from a “blind vote” taken the weekend of Oct. 16. About 70 percent of Florida sheriffs were in opposition to the proposal, while only about 15 percent supported the legislation as written and the remaining members either abstained or were unavailable to cast a vote.

It is easier for a lot of young people in this city and in some of your communities to buy a gun than buy a book. It is easier in some communities to find a gun than it is to find some fresh vegetables at a supermarket. (Applause.) That's just a fact. And that’s why the IACP and the overwhelming majority of the American people -- Democrat and Republican -- believe we should require national criminal background checks for anybody who wants to purchase a gun. (Applause.) That’s why the IACP believes we shouldn’t sell military-style assault weapons to civilians. They don't need them. (Applause.) They don't need them to hunt a deer. It's just a simple proposition -- cops should not be out-armed by the criminals that they’re pursuing. (Applause.)

From three years ago, but still quite relevant: "'Manchurian Candidate' Was No Mere Fiction."

The prisoners had not been drugged and brainwashed with secret, irresistible techniques. They were never under absolute psychological control of their captors. No secret triggers put them into a trance, such as the famous Queen of Diamonds in The Manchurian Candidate. In short, these troops had not been “brainwashed.” Instead they had been subjected to the type of comprehensive indoctrination routinely employed by Soviet and Chinese officials against their own dissidents, along with German and Japanese POWs from World War II. The methods included isolation; sleep deprivation; compulsory ideological classes; threats; public- and self-criticism; endless “confessions;” exploitation of anger over U.S. racial discrimination; destruction of the chain of command; sophisticated psychological pressure; bribery and blackmail.

Investigators offer reward after mysterious airborne object causes $3M business fire
Investigators are seeking the public's help solving a baffling fire that destroyed a telecommunications testing business Sunday, causing millions of dollars in damage. . .
Nemko, at 1940 W. Alexander St. (2420 South), burned to the ground several hours after a brightly burning object slowly descended onto its roof around 9:37 p.m. Saturday, fire officials said. The ATF believes the fire caused about $3 million in damage to expensive equipment, down from an estimate of $11 million earlier this week.
The object was on the roof for about five hours before it ignited a fire that was reported around 2:30 a.m., said ATF spokeswoman Lisa Meiman. The object was spherical in shape, but it's difficult to determine from surveillance exactly how big it was, Meiman said.
The object, which couldn't be found in the fire's wreckage, reportedly showed signs of hitting wind resistance on the way down. Meiman said there aren't any positive indications it was a drone. "It was definitely an idea that was tossed around, (but) the wind resistance didn’t make us think and didn’t make us conclude (it was a) drone," she said. "We’re not ruling it out, but we really can’t conclusively say right now. It’s just an odd movement for a drone to be making."

Why The Military Is Moving On From The M16 & Army misfires on pistol upgrade effort, confuses gun makers with complex requirements

The M16A4 is not completely gone; it will remain in the armories of some training and non-combat units in the Army and Marine Corps. It’s also possible that surplus rifles may be modified for other roles, such as designated marksmen rifles. But the ubiquitous name of the M16 in modern culture will likely be replaced by ‘M4’ when referring to America’s premier infantry weapon.
The Army is botching the procurement of what should be one of the simplest weapons to buy: the pistol. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain will soon issue a report called “America’s Most Wasted: Army’s Costly Misfire.” It says the Army has spent 10 years preparing a competition for a gun that will cost about $500. During all that time, he says, the Army has little to show but a thick, complex requirements package that perplexes gun makers and may produce a rigged result.

The real story is not whether Kit Lange is mad at Anthony Bosworth, or whether the III% is somehow involved in a “schism” over certain ideas or acts held by certain of its members. There are many groups, and many points on the spectrum where those groups differ. But the one thing that every last member of the III% can agree on is this: The government is out of control. It is tyrannical, it is evil, and it is hell-bent on ensuring that every last shred of freedom, of liberty, of human dignity is destroyed along with the principles that this nation was founded on. Their goal is slavery and control; they want a subservient, disarmed population that can do nothing but produce taxes for the government machine. There is no threat too awful for them to make, no act too horrifying for them to commit.

ATF Acting Director Tom Brandon to the Troops: ‘My Title is Changing, My Duties Are Not’

You can be certain that he's still in charge of the Fast and Furious cover-up.

Circular onanism on display. Well, there are fantasies and then there are drug-induced collectivist euphorias unsupported by reality.

I will leave it to the armed reader to judge which is happening here: "The Concealed-Carry Fantasy."
Anti-firearm New York Times quotes even more virulently anti-firearm Violence Policy Center "study" and expects us to take it seriously. If you will forgive me a blunt observation, this looks like a rather embarrassing case of public circular onanism to me.

David Codrea: "Lott’s Response to Demographic Impact on 2nd Amendment Silent on Immigration.'

"(W)hile Winkler’s conclusion (that NRA needs to get even squishier) reflects academic wishful thinking insulated from 'We Will Not Comply' enforcement realities, the demographic threat he identifies that will enable legislative and judicial evisceration of government-recognized gun rights has been completely ignored in Lott’s rebuttal. Lott does not address growing anti-gun populations, particularly as reflected by Hispanics and Asians, who poll overwhelmingly (up to 80%) anti-gun and Democrat. Completely unmentioned are the effects tens of millions of legal immigrants and illegal immigrants given amnesty will have in conjunction with the 'pathway to citizenship' being mapped out by vote-seeking Democrats and cheap labor Republicans. In truth, by stating a reality the establishment would rather we not notice, Winkler has given us an unintended gift. Rather than rejecting his thesis outright, we ought to seize on it and use it to defend against the biggest threat facing gun owners: Politically-motivated policies encouraging massive immigration leading to citizenship."

There’s a lesson in that for us all, but one has to wonder whether what the feds are thinking is a little darker. We can’t let them have machine guns because then we would be scared of them, whereas now we can eat them up as we wish. Hence, GCA and NFA. But the analogy breaks down in who is the bird and who is the worm. In our case, the worms do have the machine guns, no?

Off to early church.

More later.

Praxis Question: Does anyone have experience reloading shotshells with a MEC 8567 Grabber?

Picked up a good used one when Rosey and I stopped at an estate sale yesterday along with a a mess of other reloading stuff, ammunition, brass and firearm parts jammed higgledy-piggledy into cardboard boxes and cat litter buckets (one of those deals where I couldn't really afford to buy it but couldn't afford to pass it up). It was dirty, so I had to clean it up when I got home to be certain what it was. The 8567 is still current production with MEC and parts are available.
Anyway, I've never reloaded shotshells before and I was wondering if anyone out there can give me some pointers. In the past, I've given some thought to reloading 12 Gauge slugs (the only thing I'm really short on after years of buying factory birdshot and buckshot on sale in small amounts as I could afford it), but this machine looks to me to be strictly for reloading shot of various sizes not slugs. Is that correct? In one of the cardboard boxes of miscellaneous stuff were 2000 12 Gauge plastic wads, and I've probably accumulated that many high brass shotshell hulls from my range harvests over the years (waste not, want not). Someone else scarfed up the bags of shot, but then, as I said, I have neither the inclination nor the time to get into reloading birdshot, although for what I paid for the whole deal it is worth keeping the machine should Matt or the girls ever get seriously into skeet or trap.
Guidance? Any parts that are high wear that ought to be procured in advance if I choose to store it for if, as and when?

Don't worry, all you Christians, you're not REALLY being persecuted until they start to kill you. . . Oh, wait, what about Charleston and Roseburg? I guess that doesn't count.

"Mormons are ready for ‘Lights Out,’ Ted Koppel writes; everyone else not so much."

In his new book, "Lights Out," the man who has spent 50 years or so on television uses a far older medium to discuss a 21st-century concern: the U.S. power grid and what would happen if it shut off for weeks or months for a large swath of the country.

I get your point, Ted, but let's not hyperventilate. NO ONE can take away your God-given, inalienable rights. You must either surrender them and submit to your own slavery, or kill the tyrants who try to put you in bondage.

One of the things that happens when you surrender your national sovereignty: You play hell getting it back. "Eurozone crosses Rubicon as Portugal's anti-euro Left banned from power."

Readers know that I have neither sympathy nor ideological agreement with collectivism and collectivists, but I almost feel sorry for these folks. They won an election and it doesn't mean a thing: "Constitutional crisis looms after anti-austerity Left is denied parliamentary prerogative to form a majority government."
"Portugal has entered dangerous political waters. For the first time since the creation of Europe’s monetary union, a member state has taken the explicit step of forbidding eurosceptic parties from taking office on the grounds of national interest. Anibal Cavaco Silva, Portugal’s constitutional president, has refused to appoint a Left-wing coalition government even though it secured an absolute majority in the Portuguese parliament and won a mandate to smash the austerity regime bequeathed by the EU-IMF Troika. . . Democracy must take second place to the higher imperative of euro rules and membership."
". . . Mr Cavaco Silva is effectively using his office to impose a reactionary ideological agenda, in the interests of creditors and the EMU establishment, and dressing it up with remarkable Chutzpah as a defence of democracy. . . This is a dangerous demarche. The Portuguese conservatives and their media allies behave as if the Left has no legitimate right to take power, and must be held in check by any means. These reflexes are familiar – and chilling – to anybody familiar with 20th century Iberian history, or indeed Latin America. That it is being done in the name of the euro is entirely to be expected. Greece’s Syriza movement, Europe’s first radical-Left government in Europe since the Second World War, was crushed into submission for daring to confront eurozone ideology. Now the Portuguese Left is running into a variant of the same meat-grinder."
Europe’s socialists face a dilemma. They are at last waking up to the unpleasant truth that monetary union is an authoritarian Right-wing enterprise that has slipped its democratic leash, yet if they act on this insight in any way they risk being prevented from taking power. Brussels really has created a monster.

Yeah, right. Call me when you find some politicians willing to risk it all to actually ENFORCE just ONE of the tyrannical laws you're bragging about.

Babin Introduces Bill to Hold ATF Accountable and Strengthen Ammo Manufacturing

“Gun Owners of America is very grateful for Rep. Babin’s leadership and his willingness to address this issue head on.” said Chris Stone, Director of Federal Affairs for Gun Owners of America. “Ammunition manufacturers should have the freedom and legal reassurance to produce new forms of ammunition without constant stonewalling from the ATF. H.R. 3802 holds the government accountable and prevents them from ignoring law-abiding manufactures.”

Trying to make up for yesterday, I've put up a lot of posts so far this morning.

Thirteen by my latest count. Perhaps more later but I've got to get going on some other projects.

Remember. "Pfc. Pililaau . . . with ammunition exhausted, closed with the foe in hand-to-hand combat . . . with his trench knife and bare fists."

Drafted into the Army, he attended basic training at Fort Shafter. He briefly considered declaring himself a conscientious objector, as his Christian faith made him unsure of killing others, but decided against this idea. He was sent to Korea in March 1951 and served as a private first class with Company C, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. Volunteering to be his squad's automatic rifleman, Pililaʻau carried a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). In August he participated in the Battle of Bloody Ridge, in which the 2nd Infantry Division attacked and captured a ridge in east central Korea. Their next objective was a hill mass just to the north, near Pia-ri, which would come to be known as Heartbreak Ridge. -- Wikipedia.
Herbert K. Pililaau.
"Pfc. Pililaau, a member of Company C, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and outstanding courage above and beyond the call of duty in action against the enemy. The enemy sent wave after wave of fanatical troops against his platoon which held a key terrain feature on 'Heartbreak Ridge.' Valiantly defending its position, the unit repulsed each attack until ammunition became practically exhausted and it was ordered to withdraw to a new position. Voluntarily remaining behind to cover the withdrawal, Pfc. Pililaau fired his automatic weapon into the ranks of the assailants, threw all his grenades and, with ammunition exhausted, closed with the foe in hand-to-hand combat, courageously fighting with his trench knife and bare fists until finally overcome and mortally wounded. When the position was subsequently retaken, more than 40 enemy dead were counted in the area he had so valiantly defended. His heroic devotion to duty, indomitable fighting spirit, and gallant self-sacrifice reflect the highest credit upon himself, the infantry, and the U.S. Army."

Ambassadors of that other country we share borders with. The smiling mask slips to reveal the evil underneath. "Gott mit uns?" Which god is that?

"There is abroad in our land the growing thought that America is now in fact two countries sharing a common border and (mostly) a common language but divided along the answer to this question: DOES THE GOVERNMENT SERVE THE PEOPLE OR DO THE PEOPLE SERVE THE GOVERNMENT? . . . This is not a question whose answer can be finessed, compromised or negotiated. It is either one or the other. It is either the answer of individual liberty or that of the collectivist Borg. It cannot be both or part of either. For our part we would be happy just to be left alone. But the collectivist impulse – the tyrannical appetite – cannot be readily denied by its practitioners. It is an addiction for which there is no easy 12-Step Program. And those who possess this insatiable appetite for other people's liberty, property and lives can only be deterred by the compelling and credible counter-argument that such appetites come with personal consequences for them – consisting at the least of a bad case of indigestion and, if necessary, broken teeth. -- Mike Vanderboegh, speech at the Alamo, 19 October 2013.
"Democrats are More Bothered by the Second Amendment than Socialism." It should be noted that socialism in its various collectivist permutations is the prime killer ideology of all time, by more than one reckoning stacking up more bodies in the 20th Century alone than all of the religious wars ever fought. The columnist notes:
So, to recap, opposing capitalism doesn’t bother modern Democrat primary voters one whit. On the other hand, having even the smallest amount of respect for the Second Amendment is a political death sentence. I bring this up because for all that people talk about the way that Washington has changed and for all that people moan about how Obama has overstepped his executive authority (and he has), it’s equally important to understand that Washington is merely reflecting the fact that America has changed.
Not merely "changed," but developed into two distinct countries, one of which will continue and the other assigned to the dustbin of history according to the will of God and the actions (or inactions) of those who claim to be on His side. In any case, given the fundamental differences of world view, the argument will not be settled without the violence of bloody civil war. If history teaches us anything, it is clear on that. Readers will also recall Vanderboegh's Dictum of Collectivism:
"A socialist is a communist who has not yet found his AK-47 or the will to use it, whereas a communist is a socialist who has found his AK-47 and the determination to kill you with it to get what he wants. The difference is merely one of timing and opportunity." -- Mike Vanderboegh.
"Gott mit uns" (God is with us) was a phrase commonly used on arms, armor and field equipment such as belt buckles in the German military from the German Empire to the end of the Third Reich. The Russian Empire used it as well, in World War I, and combatants on both sides slaughtered each other in the millions, each ironically invoking the same deity, each convinced that God was on THEIR side and not their enemy's. The real question was and is not whether God is on our side but rather are we on His?
The domestic enemies of liberty in this country in this century have made it plain that beyond the same kind of meaningless lip service that the Nazis gave the phrase (witness Nancy Pelosi's claimed Catholicism), their gods are not the God of Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David and Christ but rather (and variously) Gaia, or Satan, or the child-destroying Moloch, or Baal of the "sacred orgies" or Man himself alone as in Humanism and Collectivism.
Yet this should not, by simple process of elimination, be accepted as proof that we are on God's side. I refer you to my recent post, regarding the Oregon massacre and the evil in the mirror. Let us make sure in whose service we fight, lest we all become Matthew Arnold's "ignorant armies clashing by night."

Why I was AWOL yesterday.

My daughter and her new husband had to fly out of Atlanta on their honeymoon and it fell to Dad to get them there early. From their house the trip is over two hours one way, but I dutifully dropped them off in time to make the flight. They scrimped and saved to make it happen and I was happy to help them out. (Their house sitter was busy so I volunteered.) Anyway, I came back to get some other running around done while I still had the strength and then ended the day helping a friend move a large shelving unit to another friend's shop, finishing with a rather unique prayer meeting get-together at a local indoor gun range. By the time I got back to the computer, the day was shot, I was shot and Rosey was once again perturbed that I had been burning the candle at both ends. Like I said, no rest for the weary. My apologies.

RISEN Official Trailer - In Theaters Jan 2016
As I watched this trailer, two thoughts occurred to me. First, I can't wait to see it. Second, the showing of this movie in officially designated "gun free" death zones ought to bring out the next wave of anti-Christian, demon possessed assassins. My advice? Go packing and maintain situational awareness.

Confiscation is in the air. So, California is where the next civil war starts. And the face of its sponsor is alcoholic, womanizing Gavin Newsom.

A pretty face with an empty head and corrupt soul to go with it.
Meet Gavin Newsom. Newson is the alcoholic, womanizing Lieutenant Governor of California and he has a bright idea:
"Gavin Newsom proposes sweeping gun-control ballot measure."
Newsom sez: ""If you're going to do something, go big." Well, I guess a bloody civil war is big enough. Here's some of what he proposes to achieve with a ballot initiative paid for by Mike Bloomberg's money:
"Newsom's measure would require owners to turn the outlawed magazines into police for destruction, sell them to a licensed firearms dealer or move them out of the state."
Also:
"Newsom's measure also would require licensing of ammunition sellers and instantaneous point-of-sale background checks for all ammunition purchases to weed out those convicted of a felony or a violent misdemeanor, those with restraining orders against them or those declared dangerously mentally ill. No other state requires background checks for ammunition purchases."
There is little doubt that Newsom, with Bloomberg's money, can get a win out of the Kommunist Kleptocracy of Kalifornia. Newsom apparently believes that this tyranny is immune from the unintended consequences of armed civil disobedience. There they go, extrapolating other folks' behavior from their own moral cowardice again.

The evolution of US military camouflage: From basic green and khaki to digital patterns and beyond

Last summer, the U.S. Army confirmed that soldiers will begin wearing the new Army Combat Uniform (ACU) that bears the Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) – also known as Scorpion W2. They are now being issued, and soldiers are expected to retire their prior uniforms by summer 2018. This means it’s the end of the line for the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), which was known for its digital-like appearance. Camouflage has undergone numerous changes in the past decade, and the new OCP is just the latest effort by the U.S. military to develop the "perfect camouflage."

David Codrea on the NRA and Open Secrets.

"That's some secret. Some of us have been screaming as loud as we can about this for years, doing everything we can to get the gun groups to acknowledge the danger to the "single issue" and to take proactive steps to educate their members and pressure politicians with grade adjustments. Anniversary of Trafalgar.

This was forwarded to me along with the comment:
"Trafalgar - 210 years ago, today (21 October, 1805) - When ships were of wood and sail, and men were iron. Trafalgar, one of the singularly most decisive naval battles in Western history, eliminated Napoleon Bonaparte's planned invasion of England."

The Greatest Threat to the U.S. Army (And It's Not Russia, China or Iran)

We might call that the Euro-American take on the Chinese anti-access strategy: enough anti-ship (anti-tank) missiles are probably cheaper than ships (tanks).

Oh, well, now that an aging basketball star has reinterpreted centuries of American and English history and jurisprudence, I guess we'll just have to believe him, right? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: "Stop Talking About Gun Control—Enforce It."

"The recent massacre of nine people at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College has prompted President Obama to make new calls for stricter gun control laws. His plan is a reasonable beginning. His modest proposal calls for background checks, investing in school safety, improving mental health awareness, providing gun training, increasing police on the street, and banning military-style assault weapons. This is where the 'well regulated' part of the Second Amendment comes in. Let’s try it, see if it works or not, then reassess our options after a reasonable amount of time."

"The Servant in Battle"

I ran across this title yesterday in a bookstore, The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotions by Arthur Bennett. I bought it on the strength of just this one prayer entitled "The Servant in Battle" on page 179:
I bless thee that the issue of the battle between thyself and Satan has never been uncertain, and will end in victory.
Calvary broke the dragon’s head, and I contend with a vanquished foe, who with all his subtlety and strength has already been overcome.
When I feel the serpent at my heel may I remember him whose heel was bruised, but who, when bruised, broke the devil’s head.
My soul with inward joy extols the mighty conqueror.
Heal me of any wounds received in the great conflict; if I have gathered defilement, if my faith has suffered damage, if my hope is less than bright, if my love is not fervent, if some creature-comfort occupies my heart, if my soul sinks under the pressure of the fight.
O thou whose every promise is balm, every touch life, draw near to thy weary warrior, refresh me, that I may rise again to wage the strife, and never tire until my enemy is trodden down.
Give me such fellowship with thee that I may defy Satan, unbelief, the flesh, the world, with delight that comes not from a creature, and which a creature cannot mar.
Give me a draught of the eternal fountain that lieth in thy immutable, everlasting love and decree.
Then shall my hand never weaken, my feet never stumble, my sword never rest, my shield never rust, my helmet never shatter, my breastplate never fall, As my strength rests in the power of thy might. Amen.
Unfortunately, the original writer of this prayer is not attributed, nor are any of the other selections. Still, whoever wrote it, the words echo through the centuries and it came to me just at the right time.

Immigration, Dark Confessions and NRA Single-Issue Focus

"Sadly, the NRA is today good for nothing more than a fairly good magazine once a month. As for Winkler, he has made a fatal error in judgment. Like other leftists, he thinks that gun owners are monolithic and controlled by the NRA. To them, we are reactionary and able to be turned by the winds of wording, able to be controlled like the hive controls its own. They think this way because it’s impossible to imagine a world view without central command issuing orders. This is good news. It’s always better when the enemy underestimates your power and resolve, and misjudges your character."

Collectivist's inadvertent confession confirms their evil intentions AND condemns the NRA's "single-issue" avoidance of the illegal invasion threat.

And Gomer Pyle sez: "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
It is unusual for me to do two posts from the same link, but my first reaction to this Adam Winkler piece merely pointed out that we don't need the NRA to defend our liberties. That is certainly true. But what I didn't notice until after a discussion with a long-time friend is what a gift Winkler has made us with this confession in the same article:
The fastest-growing minority group in America is Latinos. Between 2000 and 2010, the nation’s Latino population grew by 43 percent. Hispanics, which make up 17 percent of the population today, are expected to grow to 30 percent of the population in the coming decades. Gun control is extremely popular among Hispanics, with 75 percent favoring gun safety over gun rights.
It is impossible to overstate the favor that Winkler has done us by this triumphalist bragging about the "demographics gonna get yo momma" message to the NRA. This collectivist's inadvertent confession not only confirms their evil, confiscationist intentions but it absolutely condemns the NRA's "single-issue" avoidance of the illegal invasion threat. My partner in thought crime David Codrea has been banging this drum for some time now, only to be ignored or ridiculed by the NRA partisans on the Internet. The NRA, says these "pragmatists" (dubbed "prags" by the rest of us "radicals"), is a single issue organization and cannot get involved in the fight against illegal immigration. Now one of their worst enemies is unintentionally proving David's critique of the deliberately clueless NRA. I doubt we will hear anything about this from the likes of Say Uncle or Sebastian Snowflake, but Winkler has proven our case against the "single issue" canard, which is just a figleaf for the NRA's own cowardly caution.
Like Gomer Pyle said, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"God, guns and keeping Christians safe."

"Pistols in the pews make some feel more secure, but others are leery."

NRA? What makes you think we need them to preserve our rights? You're going to have kill the rest of us to get what you want and we shoot back.

"The NRA will fall. It’s inevitable."

Obama and Hillary Both Show Cards with Praise for Australian ‘Gun Control.'

Never one to disregard his political ally Rahm Emanuel’s advice and let a crisis go to waste, Barack Obama exploited the Umpqua murders to laud citizen disarmament efforts via gun bans in Great Britain and Australia. Hillary Clinton, in response to a question at a New Hampshire town hall meeting, declared an Australian-style national gun “buyback” would be “worth considering doing … on a national level.”

And we've negated the enforcement of your tyrannical laws with armed civil disobedience in every state you mention. I guess the next move is up to you, collectivist puke.

"We have begun winning at the state level — most recently in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, New York and Oregon, where background check laws have been strengthened without banning guns."
Right. None of which they dare enforce without fear of being shot.

"Want a gun? Take a bullet: Take this, gutless NRA cowards — you can have a gun, once you understand the pain of being shot."

How about instead we just shoot the tyrannical SOBs who want to take ours?

Anniversary of the M-1 Garand.

On this day in 1926, John C. Garand patented a semi-automatic rifle. Civil Service employee John Garand was in a class all by himself, much like the weapons he created. Garand was Chief Civilian Engineer at the Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. Garand invented a semiautomatic .30 caliber rifle, known as the M-1 or “the Garand,” which was adopted in 1936 after grueling tests by the Army.

"Who are you going to believe? Us, or your lying eyes?" Assurances that they're not out to seize our firearms comes with a promise to seize our firearms.

How these collectivist idiots can write this with a straight face is a wonder: "There is no plot to seize the guns of law-abiding citizens."
There's no shortage of politicians willing to fan the flames of fear and paranoia when it comes to gun control. What we need are public servants who are willing to discuss serious proposals that limit access to guns without infringing on citizens’ Second Amendment rights. That discussion should begin today, and it should include the proposed renewal of the assault-weapons ban that expired in 2004 and the long overdue closing of private-sale loopholes in the background-check law.
And this just in: "A federal appeals court on Monday upheld the core provisions of two gun control laws passed in New York and Connecticut after the 2012 mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School that banned possession of semiautomatic assault weapons. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld the bans on semiautomatic weapons and large-capacity magazines."
No matter. The armed civil disobedience campaign goes on.

So now there's an AK shortage?

"Paul Ryan’s Open Borders Push With Luis Gutierrez Exposed in 2013 Video."
Rep. Luis Gutierrez's endorsement of Rep. Paul Ryan for Speaker of the House has drawn new attention to Ryan’s two-decade history of pushing for open borders immigration policies. A previously little noticed 2013 video of Ryan and Gutierrez stumping for Sen. Marco Rubio’s amnesty bill—in which the two make a candid pitch for unlimited immigration—shows just how far Ryan is willing to go to push for open borders policies.
In the wide-ranging 53 minute video, which took place in Chicago, both Gutierrez and Ryan outline their shared plan for adopting open borders: that is, a national policy of allowing companies to bring in and hire as many foreign workers as they would like. This “free movement” of people across national boundaries is the centerpiece of the open borders ideology to which Ryan has devoted much of his career.
The video is entitled: “Rep. Paul Ryan and Rep. Luis Gutierrez Push For Immigration Reform.” The two Congressional partners lay out an immigration plan that is far more radical in scope than many would have imagined, and absent from virtually all major media coverage of the Ryan speakership push. The video gives fresh insight into what legislation Paul Ryan would advance— and what legislation he would block—if given the Speaker’s gavel.

Positing the hypothetical with tongue in cheek. Don't count your war criminals before they're tried.

A reader sends this comment upon "Soliciting civil war with a cheery 'Sieg Heil!' Collectivist 'intellectual' harridan chants: Obama is fuhrer. Obama is benevolent. Obama will fix things with a decree. Just you wait." --
You say "only target the warfighters" ? Well, there's one for ya....considering people like this to be "noncombatants" would be a huge mistake. This one's gonna be for all the marbles. Let's not start off planning to only half do it. We leave a bunch of "Tories" walking around after the fact, then it will all have been a waste.
Actually, I have written, hypothetically of course, that in a successful 4GW struggle in a future American civil war, the only target which matters is the enemy's will to fight (which is located on the battleground that is found in the few inches between the ears of the war planners, decision takers, economic tyranny enablers, enemy political cadre, active Julius Streicher-type propagandists and major intellectual apologists -- and only those guilty parties). Thus these are the only legitimate AND worthwhile targets. I wrote:
I have asked this question before. They will fight to the last ATF agent or to the last oath-breaking soldier. Will they fight to the first senior bureaucrat, the second Congressman, the third newspaper editor, the fourth Senator, the fifth White House aide? Can they stand Bill Clinton's rules of engagement?
Now, let's examine whether or not said collectivist harridan rises to that level. Were I the post-war crimes-against-humanity prosecutor in the case of the Restored Republic of the United States versus Dr. Barbara LeSavoy, I would be forced to consider this pseudo-intellectual gibberish as part of the record as well as whether or not her advocacy of tyranny before and during the conflict rose to the level of a Julius Streicher.
Bless her heart, as they say in Winston County, but were I her defense attorney, I'd play that video and any other such gibberish I could find and plead diminished mental capacity at the least. As a prosecutor, absent any other tyranny-enabling of consequence, I would offer the woman an unceremonious free ticket out of the country, much as the Founders did to the prominent and unrepentant Tories after the Revolution. It usually didn't take much to convince them that it would be healthier if they took their royalism somewhere more understanding, like Canada or Britain.
Frankly, in cold military calculation and given the available evidence at the moment, the woman (if that is indeed what she is) isn't worth the trouble of 4GW targeting. Her screed, such as it is, is so self-discrediting that most of us had to read it more than once to determine if it was a spoof. If she is indeed merely an isolated loon capable of functioning only in the hothouse lily cocoon of collectivist academia, she probably deserves, if not forgiveness, then a little Christian pity.
In the hypothetical civil war, save your rounds for the truly guilty, and don't count your war criminals before they're tried.

Firearms Manufacturers Compete to Supply Army With New Handgun

A 2006 survey found that 58 percent of soldiers who returned from combat reported being satisfied with the M9 pistol, a low score compared with the 75 percent satisfaction rating for the M16 rifle and 89 percent for the M4 carbine. Roughly a quarter of soldiers said they wanted a weapon that used a bigger bullet that could more easily stop an enemy. The Army is letting manufacturers decide the optimal type of ammunition. Until recently, the Army usually limited soldiers to use jacketed ball ammunition, which was considered acceptable under rules of war dating back a century. Ball ammunition leaves a cleaner wound and may improve survival. Recent guidance from Army lawyers opens the door to soldiers firing a 9mm round that expands or fragments, causing more damage to the body.

Soliciting civil war with a cheery "Sieg Heil!" Collectivist "intellectual" harridan chants: Obama is fuhrer. Obama is benevolent. Obama will fix things with a decree. Just you wait.

Dr. Barbara LeSavoy, State University of New York, wants to kill liberty in this country, and doesn't care how many of our bodies she stacks up in the process. Her email address, should you wish to engage her in polite discourse, is blesavoy@brockport.edu.
I used to think such people were just smoking too much dope and trapped in their own la-la land, but no sentient being could be this out of touch with reality. No, she knows what she is demanding. She just doesn't care how many of us get killed in the process. "Obama’s legacy on guns should be to ban them."
I reprint this insane screed in its entirety in case the editors of the newspaper it appeared in regain their senses and delete it.
I urge President Obama to ban firearm possession in America. He is the president of the United States. He can change the country. He can do it today. I believe in him.
I voted for Barack Obama. Twice. During his 2008 presidential campaign, my two daughters, partner, and I ate every meal in our house on Obama placemats. We bought these at our local supermarket, plastic-coated, plate-sized paper rectangles with an image of his face framed by colors of the flag. While politically minded, I am not overly patriotic, so this mealtime ritual of American allegiance was odd for me. Still, we looked at the image of his face each day and we believed that he really could be the change in America.
As Obama’s 2012 campaign approached, I was a little jaded. Some of his promises to our country did not come true, and I was anxious about rising social tensions he and his administration faced. Racial inequality plagued the news, gender-based violence grew in global proportion, and women’s reproductive freedoms had become increasingly vulnerable.
Still, I did not waver. I dug into our old dining room cupboards, and found our worn but resilient Obama placements. I dusted them off, and once again, my family and I ate all of our meals looking at his image. In his presidency, we still imagined a country on the edge of change.
Today, I write this letter with a bleeding heart. I admire Obama. But he has let me down. I am disappointed because his presidency could have done more for our country, and sadly, the many taken lives who cannot read this essay. I still worry about urgent social tensions facing our nation, and I recognize their ongoing complexities in policy and legislative action. But gun violence can be averted. Can our country ever be free from senseless gun-crime?
Firearm possession should be banned in America; President Obama can orchestrate this directive. His presidency can be remembered as a remarkable turn in United States history where a progressive leader forever changed the landscape under which we live and work. This is his legacy. To establish gun control laws in America that will reduce high levels of male violence and usher in a culture of peace and civility.
Barack Obama is the president of the United States. He can change the country. He can do it today. I believe in him.

Want more gun control? Sit down and shut up.

Michael Seth Stewart, PhD., an Alabama native and English instructor at the University of Alabama and one clueless collectivist. His email, for those of you who would like to write a respectful rejoinder, is msstewart2@ua.edu.
NOTE: Well, my letter to the editor of AL.com below got bounced so I sent this directly to Stewart. Hope he likes it.
Michael Seth Stewart writes that he is "deeply frightened by the increasingly familiar gun massacres in our schools around the country" and thus demands that "Alabamians must stand up for 'sensible gun reform.'" Collectivists always use carefully crafted weasel words to frame the debate in order to win it before it begins. Let me translate his demands into plain English.
"Sensible gun reform," Stewart reveals, consists of "closing the gun show loophole." (Translation: federal seizure of the right to trade in firearms between private individuals -- not even King George III was so grasping.) It also requires "a sensible limit on types of guns that can be purchased." (Translation: the banning of all semi-automatic firearms.) And finally, he demands "universal background checks" (Translation: the creation of a federal registry of all firearm owners.)
He demands this, he says, because he is "deeply frightened" by the mass shootings occurring in the criminal-enabling free-fire areas that he and his collectivist comrades are pleased to call "gun free zones." Stewart wails that “we are in a state of emergency.”
No, we’re not, not yet. But if he gets his way we WILL be in a bloody civil war. Stewart and his ilk should forgo such tyrannical proposals for recent experience proves that the Law of Unintended Consequences still rules.
Since Sandy Hook, there have been a number of states that have passed laws consistent with his demands, notably Connecticut, Maryland, New York, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. Yet in each state these laws have been nullified by armed civil disobedience and NONE are currently being enforced by the same politicians who passed them. How do I know this? Because I have been honored to be a recognized leader of the national We Will Not Comply movement. We have publicly smuggled thousands of banned magazines into CT, CO, and NY. In CT the noncompliance rate for the registration of semi-automatic rifles is thought to be in the neighborhood of 80%. In New York it is 90%, aided by local sheriffs who have put the state police on notice that if they come into their counties to arrest anyone under the SAFE Act that it is the state police who will be arrested. We have flouted Bloomberg's recent background check laws in both WA and OR with armed demonstrations on the steps of those state capitols and we've even held a background-check-free gun show in open defiance. And the politicians don't know whether to defecate or go blind. For this is dangerous ground, making millions of heretofore peaceable citizens into instant felons with nothing to lose -- VERY dangerous ground. It requires only one Waco-type raid to set off a national conflagration.
In the meantime, we have proven that there is no tyrannical law that can be passed that cannot be nullified by armed civil disobedience. If you want to disarm us you must come and take our firearms by force. We will not cooperate in our own enslavement. In short, you must kill us. And we will not go willingly into Mr. Stewart’s collectivist good night. So advocates of further citizen disarmament must ask themselves, how many of us -- along with our families and other innocents -- are they willing to see dead in the civil war that they start in order to accomplish their "benevolent" goal? And how many of their side are they willing to sacrifice in order to win the civil war they start? Will Mr. Stewart kindly do the math and let us know? In the meantime such would-be tyrants should be careful what they wish for, lest they get it.

Rough night.

More later.

Oath Keepers has made its position clear. The organization has nothing to do with the rally. And while some who did may have worn Oath Keepers garb or appropriated the group’s name, it’s CNN’s fundamental obligation to ensure even guest editorials they issue viewpoint disclaimers for are truthful. But that would mean CNN editors would need to educate themselves on subject matter they accept. And they’d also have to be committed to standards of fairness and accuracy. Good luck with that.

"Our enemies fully understand the limitations of American strategic thought and operational history. We often learn bloody and painful lessons before an institutional awakening. The good news is that the military is a learning organization, just look at the lessons learned by Joint Special Operations Command in their operations against Al-Qaeda in Iraq and fighting decentralized enemies. Conventional forces, when empowered by leadership, are also capable of extraordinary learning and growth in competence and capacity. Ironically, to the fight by TF Smith, last year at the time of a U.S. strategic pivot to the Pacific area, events in Europe have drawn our military attention and efforts back to an area deemed an economy of force in the 21st century. Lastly, Korea taught the lessons of being a hegemon, regional conflict cannot draw a nation away from global engagement and responsibilities to allies. During the three years of war in Korea, capacity and readiness in strategically deterrent forces were maintained as to prevent a loss in other vital areas. It may be a painful 21st century for the United States unless we can honestly reflect on our capacity, weaknesses, and history to prepare for our current and future fights."

No more free Wacos. "We're all threats to them." If you're anti-liberty, anti-constitutional jack booted federal secret policemen, I can see why they view the rest of us as enemies.

Judy Thomas interviewed me the other day on the SPLC's takeover of the command deck of Main Justice. "Justice Department acknowledges threat from domestic terrorists, creates new office." I also forwarded her a copy of own reaction piece: Southern Preposterous Lie Center's complete penetration of the highest levels of "Justice" Department policy. Resurrecting the DTEC Frankenstein. This was the result:
The creation of the new office infuriated some groups that the government labels “anti-government.”
“We’re all threats to them,” said Mike Vanderboegh, former leader of the 1st Alabama Cavalry Regiment Constitutional Militia and a longtime figure in the Patriot movement. “I’ve fought white supremacists and neo-Nazis all my life. But they lump veterans and constitutionalists in with all the others.
“This is very scary stuff. To say that militias, for example, are a worse threat than ISIS? All the militia says is they’re Second Amendment activists and they won’t be rolled back any further from their Second Amendment rights.”
Actually I said, as you can imagine, a lot more than that, but it is impossible to know what the KCS editor removed from her story. My main point was that believing, actually believing and internalizing, the lies and conflations of SPLC by the armed paramilitary secret political police of DOJ and DHS were going to get people killed in a new Waco and touch off another civil war.

"Kill them all. God will know His own." Obama channels Grand Inquisitor Amalric.

"Whistleblower leaks top secret drone assassination program that reveals how 90% of people killed in one 5-month spree WEREN'T targeted."
The information shows that during Operation Haymaker, a campaign in northeastern Afghanistan which ran between January 2012 and February 2013, some 219 people were killed by drones. But just 35 were the intended targets, a mere 15 per cent. During one five-month stretch of the operation, a staggering 90 per cent of those killed were not the intended target. Despite this all the deaths were labelled EKIA, or ‘enemy killed in action’.
The source told The Intercept that anyone caught near the strike was ‘guilty by association’ and that there was ‘no guarantee that those persons deserved their fate’. The papers also reveal that President Obama is given ‘baseball cards’ which have a suspect’s portrait and the key allegations against them on them to help him make up his mind.

Gabby’s ‘Protect All Women Tour’ Appears to Be Following Bloomberg’s M.O.

Then again, perhaps lessons have been learned from Michael Bloomberg’s “No More Names” Everytown bus tour—the one that listed criminals and the Boston bomber among the “victims of gun violence” to be mourned. They had to keep locations and times secret, and away from activist gun owners until the last minute, so that monopoly of violence “supporters” would not be outnumbered by freedom advocates – and in many cases, it was pathetically obvious the tactic didn’t work. With the cheerleader press ever ready to show up at locations they would not pre-announce to the general public, the gun-grabbers not only got cropped footage to mask light attendance for the evening news, but they could continue to perpetuate the deception that a demand for “gun control,” rather than a fear of it, is high on the agenda of most Americans.

Southern Preposterous Lie Center's complete penetration of the highest levels of "Justice" Department policy. Resurrecting the DTEC Frankenstein.

Meet Southern Poverty Law Center's Lackey at Main Justice (and the federal bureaucrat who has the greatest likelihood of committing another Waco and touching off the next American civil war): Assistant Attorney General John P. Carlin.
This is the announcement that roused me from my three-day siege of chemotherapy indolence and got me back to the keyboard: "Assistant Attorney General John P. Carlin Delivers Remarks on Domestic Terrorism at an Event Co-Sponsored by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the George Washington University Center for Cyber and Homeland Security’s Program on Extremism." It begins:
It is an honor to be at this event, co-hosted by the George Washington University’s new Program on Extremism and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The partnership between SPLC and GW serves as a reminder that violent extremism is neither a new phenomenon, nor one that is limited to any single population, region or ideology. Since its creation in 1971, SPLC has been an important voice on the wide range of extremist groups throughout this country.
Now let's stop right there for a moment. Anyone who actually believes what Carlin said is either completely out of touch with the serial lying and factual conflation that SPLC has practiced over the years (see the many liberal critiques of their operations as well as the academic deconstruction of SPLC's "Brown Scare" of the 1990s presented in Professor Robert Churchill's To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrant's Face: Libertarian Political Violence and the Origins of the Militia Movement) or a dangerous political hack who ignores the facts in order to accomplish an anti-constitutional agenda.
As long as it merely uses its lies to pimp donations from the credulous, SPLC's conflations are, if not innocuous, then at least not likely to turn deadly. When they are embraced by the so-called "Justice" Department with hordes of paramilitary secret political policemen at their beck and call, well, that's what Wacos and civil wars are made of. Carlin's big sloppy French kiss to SPLC in this speech comes with an iron boot for the rest of us, in the form of the resurrection of the Frankenstein monster of the Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee. Carlin:
The DTEC was originally launched by Attorney General Janet Reno in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing with the goal of ensuring that those combating domestic terrorist activity had a forum to share information and coordinate efforts. It met regularly and it was scheduled to meet on Sept. 11, 2001, but due to the events of that day, that meeting never took place.
Fortunately, in recognition of the importance of combating domestic terrorism, the department re-established the DTEC last June. Today, the DTEC consists of senior officials from NSD, the FBI, the U.S. Attorney community, the Civil Rights Division and the Tax Division, among others, as well as other federal law enforcement agencies who work on domestic terrorism matters. As it did many years ago, it provides a national-level forum for information sharing at the department’s leadership level and within the federal law enforcement community.
The DTEC helps to ensure national-level coordination. But our local U.S. Attorney’s offices, FBI field offices and Joint Terrorism Task Forces, working closely with our nation’s police officers, district attorneys and local community officials, are the country’s eyes on the ground.
At NSD, in order to ensure that we are gaining the benefits of the information and input from those eyes on the ground from around the country, and in recognition of a growing number of potential domestic terrorism matters around the United Sates, we have created a new position to assist with our important work in combatting (sic) domestic terrorism. Just this week, we appointed a new Domestic Terrorism Counsel to serve as our main point of contact for U.S. Attorneys working on domestic terrorism matters. The new DT Counsel will not only help ensure that DT cases are properly coordinated, but will also play a key role in our headquarters-level efforts to identify trends to help shape our strategy, and to analyze legal gaps or enhancements required to ensure we can combat these threats. The new counsel will also play an important role with the DTEC by providing its members with insights from cases and trends from around the country.
A couple of things leap out from re-reading the entire statement and then making reasonable interpretations of what's behind the specific phrases. First, it is obvious that Carlin wants to expand the laws regarding "material support of terrorism" to domestic "radicals," although how he's going to get around the First Amendment for that is also not explicitly addressed. Second Carlin makes much of so-called "white supremacists" but doesn't mention "Black Lives Matter" activists who have killed cops. I suppose the fact that they get invited to the White House to get their marching orders from Valerie Jarrett excludes them from consideration.
Following the SPLC meme, Carlin considers "domestic extremists" even more dangerous than ISIS and Al Qaeda, even going to the leap of logic to assign to Tim McVeigh the moral responsibility for Jihadi attacks because he thought up a truck bomb (which by the way comes straight out of The Turner Diaries):
The full spectrum of violent extremism shares a number of common elements, and our approach to disrupting them must recognize these connections. As just one example, earlier this year, two women were charged in New York with conspiring to build a bomb to conduct an attack in the United States. While these women were motivated by Islamic extremist ideology, they allegedly conducted research into the type of bomb used in the Oklahoma City bombing, demonstrating the continuing resonance of that attack.
Of course the FBI would know how much of a threat NeoNazi and Klan groups pose, I suppose, since they have fully infiltrated almost all of them right up to the command level. The swastikas and sheetheads are as much convenient cat's paws for the militarized federal police as anything else.
In short, if there is another Waco leading to civil war, you can put Carlin's face on the puppet that starts it. But behind Carlin are the puppetmasters of the Southern Preposterous Lie Center. Something for the victorious survivors of the fratricide to recall when it comes time for the war crimes trials of 2018.
