Fox News's Glenn Beck, reacted with visible incredulity when fellow Fox host Bill O'Reilly asked him whether he considered same-sex marriage "a threat the country."All anti-collectivists had better concentrate on what we share, because the collectivists will be shooting at us shortly and we'll need all the reliable allies we can get. And no, Tom Baugh, that DOESN'T include the Nation of Islam or the neo-Nazis."Will the gays come and get us?" Beck asked. "I believe what Thomas Jefferson said. If it neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket, what difference is it to me?"
''Honestly, I think we have bigger fish to fry," he continued. "You can argue about abortion or gay marriage or whatever all you want. The country is burning down."

At last, our country is getting some perspective, even if the politicians are not.
It looks like a backlash IS coming at the polls. So it will be more imporant than ever for the pragmatists and compromisers to avoid mentioning the real freedom candidates whenever possible and keep the names of globalists and pseudo-cons like Gingrich and Huckabee and gun-banners like Romney in the fore. Familiar names of career politicians with -- guess what -- an AGENDA.
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis.
The thing is, gay marriage is a threat to our country. So is the wholesale slaughter of preborn babies, and other outrageous immorality, such as the perversion of God's law so that "Thou shalt not steal" is suddenly "Thou shalt not steal, except when you can get the government to do it for you." The problems we face as a nation are the direct result of our national immorality. God is not mocked, that which you sow, that also shall you reap.
It's time to weed the garden.
If people would be doers of the Word, rather than hearers only, a lot of our problems would take care of themselves and God would do the rest. He said so. Stand against all sin. Judge the sinners and call them what they are - liars, thieves and murderers - No matter what religion they cloak themselves in. And render the appropriate sentence. We cannot allow them to go unpunished and expect things to go well for us. Denounce them publicly.
If you want freedom and prosperity, be Torah doers as Yeshua taught us.
Government is an obsolete construct in and of itself.
And the most dangerous entity on the planet.
Especially if those who wish to use government to enforce "God's law" upon us all get control of the current levers of power.
A return to the Articles of Confederation would be a good first start, separation into four or five sovereign nations even better.
The idea of these United States as an unbreakable, unitary nation has always been bunk. I live in South Carolina, that means I really don't care what gets built in New York City, for example.

WC, there have always been those who take the easy downward path. We can educate, and lead by example, but as we have seen, in the end laws only control those who obey the law, and individual circumstances can cause anyone to stray outside the lines as a matter of survival if not convenience.
I don't care who people love, as long as they love rather than hate.
My stepdaughter, who I think of as my DAUGHTER, had an abortion before I ever met and married her mother. She grieves for that lost child every day. She will never get over the consequences of her decision. I also know a woman whose single mother gave her up for adoption. She's 52 and still trying to get over being given away.
I don't feel that I'm here to decide for anyone in whose moccasins I have not walked for a lifetime. People who feel they are God's, or Allah's, or Yahweh's or Ahura-Mazda's or whoever's arbiter of what others WILL and WILL NOT do deny the free will that we are BLESSED with. Usually they make things worse.
I only know that if someone directly, intentionally harms me or mine, I will act.
And squishes like Beck will make it possible. He proposes to stand for morality, then embraces the immoral. He is as dead to me.
I tend to agree with WarriorClass.
Past time for a "R E S E T"

The problem with people like WarriorClass is that they think that everyone should be judged according to their Christian religious law. Now tell me what makes it ok for your religion's law to be enforced, when Sharia law is bad? What happened to the whole idea of liberty? You know, as long as they are not hurting anyone else, let them do as they wish. Instead of freedom, you want tyranny, but with your ideas being enforced. Also, I don't think the many Deist or non-Christian Founding Fathers would agree with you.
I am a patriot. I love my country and the ideals on which it was founded with an unquenchable passion.
I am not a Christian. I am well aware that the Framers were, but their ideas on Liberty do not require any particular religious viewpoint to appreciate.
My struggle in these dark days is to rid us all of those who would tell free men and women how to live. I will not accept any ruleset imposed by fiat, whether that ruleset originates with a party committee, or somebody's holy book. Collectivism has a lot of faces. Some of them look out from pulpits.
We all have motes in our eyes. I'm a grown boy. I'll look after mine, you look after your own.
I don't think any of the founders, whether they were Christian, deists, or non-believers would agree that abortion and homosexuality, and a whole host of other things would be ... wholesome ... for our country.
It's a slippery slope when you start making excuses to justify immorality. As ... here we are. Imagine where we will be ... if ... we do not get a grip.
In case no one has noticed, the down fall of America is directly related to its morality ... which is fast approaching to ... zilch.
For good or evil ... right or wrong ... every word and every action has consequences.
Gay´s and Abortionist, Hell if I care anymore, I have come to see that If I want Liberty, I Must Also Let Others Be Free.
This Don´t mean that I have to Approve or Not. As long as Someone does´t try to Force their way of life on me what Right Do I Have to Force My Religious Beliefs on them.
WTF people, Neither I nor YOU are Fit to Judge, ¨Let he that is without Sin Cast the First Stone¨
¨I¨ know ¨I¨ can not cast that stone. If you think you can, go right ahead But BEWARE! ¨As You Judge So Shall Ye Be Judged¨
To Many times, through out History, Religious beliefs have be used for Inexplicable Crimes. And that goes for examples like the Crusades and Inquisitions to the Soviet Ukraine Genocide or Pol Pot in Cambodia, Conversion To or the Elimination of Faith.
Will You Be Free Men and Women or will you be just a Collective of Another Sort. I Choose FREEDOM and LIBERTY and I will stand with Any Man or Woman that will like wise Choose Freedom and Liberty for each in their own Manner. By the Way My God´s name is Jehovah and I will worship as My Conscious sees fit. That is Between Myself and Him.

WC,
I am a patriot and USMC veteran. I also am not a christian. So what gives you the right to lay down the law as you see it, and I have no right to mine. Let's leave the right to religious freedom as is and just remember we are all Americans in a very big blending pot.

All big talk radio hosts/TV hosts (Beck, O'reilly, The Pillsbury Doughboy, Savage, Olberman, Maddow, Jones) are just displaying some variant of the government's shill. The only news that is worthwile is when it comes from your own interpretations (God gave you a brain, use it) and what is availible in blogs/independent alternative media. (Like here)
I'm not so sure Beck is a pacifist...he does have a firing range in his house. He just isn't advocating violence...yet. I doubt his current pacifist meme will last beyond certain events, probably coinciding with our own set of "You shall not pass" lines.
In his position, he has to be careful. He has caused them no small amount of grief and they'd love to have a reason to get rid of him/discredit him.
I sincerely doubt that Beck is a pacifist. He has a firing range and an armory in his house...that is not pacifist; it is preparation for what may come. I suspect he has a "You shall not pass" line, just as we do. His pacifist meme will not survive beyond that point where he must defend his home and family, and his country, against those who would kill or enslave.
He has to be careful to discourage violence NOW, as he is a major target for the collectivists. He has caused them no small amount of headaches. They would love to have a reason to remove him. Same as all our other public personalities--they cannot call for violence and must counsel against it FOR NOW, because calling for violence gives the propaganda artists a way to discredit (and silence) them.
We are engaged in a propaganda war in which people are picking sides. We desperately need our side informing people and trying to pull the lost sheep back from the insanity of collectivism and cult of personality. People lose their minds en masse, but regain their senses one at a time. Each one that Beck, Rush, Hannity, Coulter, Vanderboegh, Codrea, et. al., convince of the righteousness of our cause, is another one who we will not have to face on the battlefield should that come to pass. That is well.

Mike V, you have such good info and though-provoking things to say. Stop demeaning yourself and your message by harping on your inability to accept what is good about Tom Baugh's work and what isn't.
Like a lot of us, his message is a work in progress. Some things he gets right, some he doesn't. The same is true for you. I liked reading your posts a lot more when you were willing to accept each of us as we are, without expecting perfection. Don't make it personal, buddy. You are better than that.

"The problem with people like WarriorClass is that they think that everyone should be judged according to their Christian religious law". Do you mean that quaint phrase of Jesus', "As ye have done it unto the least of these my Bretheran, ye have done it to me?" Or, "Love God with all your heart and soul and mind, and Love thy neighbor as thyself"? Or, "No greater Love hath any man than he lay down his life for his friends"? "IHS"
Warrior Class is spot-on. What two men (and a midget, and a goat, and maybe a great dane) do in the privacy of their own home is their business. But when they demand that I sanction their conduct, they are making it my business.
Homosexual "marriage" has never existed, never been recognized in any civilization in recorded history, ever. But now homosexual "marriage" is being called a fundamental human right, and the libertarians agree. How can something be a fundamental human right which is created from whole cloth? And if we approve of this new right, what right will be invented next? Approval of homosexual "marriage" gives license to the civil rights industry to create whatever rights they can think of, and force them on us at the point of a gun.
All that the left does is connected. It is not a melange of separate viruses, but a vast tumor whose purpose is to kill its host.
Wake up, libertarians.
"If you want freedom and prosperity, be Torah doers as Yeshua taught us."
So, you travel to Jerusalem each year to make sacrifice? You keep all those Torah laws to the letter?
God sent his Son to create a New Covenant for a reason.
God wants his people to be free to choose the right path. Not to be brought to it by any sort of force. If this were not true then why even put The Tree in the garden at all?
The problem with people like LibertyForAll is that they haven't thought their position through to its logical conclusion. Without a moral basis there is no order that you would likely enjoy. The law of nature is power, and those with power lord it over you even now. Is that what you want? If so, you have it and have no basis to complain for the way things are. Good laws make room for liberty, bad ones take it away. Biblical law was given for our liberty and protection. Homosexuality leads to death. The Bible was given so we could have Life. Can you say that about the Koran? Not if you have read it. Even the non believers have benefited from our Judeo Christian heritage and, although they don't realize it, their ethics have come from that culture. And you now cry at the loss of it.

Do you sincerely believe that the Judeo/Christian law code has its corollary in Sharia? Judaism and Christianity have almost nothing in common with Islam.
What happened to the whole idea of liberty?--LFA
How can liberty exist in the absence of morality? Can you show me where atheism as official state policy has been productive of anything other than wholesale slaughter?
MALTHUS
There's alot to be said for banishment as a means of ameliorating lapses in social standards. It's an age old remedy.
But even now as the eaters of liberty rejoice in the belief that they have advanced their cause by banishing the rival God from the hearts of man, common sense from the mind, and moral sense from the public square, it hasn't quite dawned upon them that the embittered clingers have been stealthily and steadily banishing from their lives those who don't adhere to their 'archaic' [Constitutional] standards - even as we remove ourselves as best we are able from the trap of contributing to the general decay and livelihoods of those who promote the dissolution of our God-given rights.
Unfortunately the corrupt termites scurrying about within the cracks of the great tower of bullshit they've constructed upon our backs have conspired to make it very nearly impossible for a liberty-minded man to not materially contribute to our own demise by default of laws and edicts too numerous to count without recourse to machines run by bullshit experts.
Even as this Gordian knot of participation in the grand scheme of their rule-set has tightened the coercive bonds on the polity they insist on imposing an ever-contracting peace space in which a free individual may maneuver to disentangle himself from the whole mess.
...A recipe if there ever was for resistance, the sword, and fire.
Get off of my back and I'll back off my trigger.
It will probably astonish some commenters here to learn that I have morals, thank you very much, and an ethical code, and it's been my experience that most people on the liberty side of the equation do. Mine may not happen to match yours on all points, but if that's a problem. it's your problem. I could care less what you believe as long as you honor your contracts and respect my rights. The state of your soul is not my responsibility.
Don't like gay marriage? Fine. Don't marry any gays. Don't officiate at their ceremonies. Don't rent them a hall for the reception. These are all your rights. What you don't have a right to do is use the power of the State to prevent the marriages. Marriage is not within the purview of the federal government.
Of course gay marriage is a fundamental human right. We have the right to do anything that does not initiate force against another, and you cannot make a credible claim that you are in any way harmed by this. Gay marriage may offend you, but as offense is taken, not given, that too is your problem. While it is true that no earlier society embraced gay marriage, most earlier societies embraced slavery and the divine right of kings, so I tend not to look to them as positive examples.
One of my favorite Sowell quotes goes roughly, "If people are free to do as they wish, they will almost certainly not do as we wish, which is why utopian planners end up as despots."
Death to despots.
I was about to share my two cents worth, but I'm in much too foul a mood right now.
You know it's bad when you're helping your grandson understand the fall of Rome, and he says "that's just like now."
Malthus doesn't seem to get the fact that there is a world of difference between Christian principles and Shariah "law". I am an atheist, yet I believe in the Christian principles that WarriorClass believes in, because they are fundamentally right, decent, and respectful of the rights of others. Shariah is not, and never will be, unless someone out there really thinks it is right to cut the ears and nose off of your wife simply because she can't stand your hairy ass anymore.
We can agree that gays have a right to love one another _without_ agreeing they have a right to change our legal system and cultural/Christian principles by making gay marriage a "right". Love is universal. Marriage between man and woman is universal. Changing marriage to include gay unions is not.
If we permit gay marriage to be considered a right, what comes next? Man-Boy marriage? Marrying a six-year-old child so you can have sex with him/her?
Moral values do exist separately from religion, but the Christian _values_ (not religions - these values exist in Judaism and elsewhere) that this country was founded on are right, proper, and eternal. This atheist says we need to cling to them, because they are part of what makes America exceptional - above and apart from many of the other countries, cultures, and societies of this world.

Now I am going to Say what I think here because I believe somebody needs to say it.
First off I want to point out that I consider Myself to be a Christian in the Traditional Sense that I believe that Jesus Christ paid the price for my admittance into heaven or my Salvation if you will. You can belive what ever You will that is for You to decide.
I do try to understand what I read in the Bible and there are couple of things that I don´t understand, But there is something that I do see and That is ¨The Second Greatest Gift that God Gave to Mankind after Salvation, was and is the Ability to CHOOSE.¨ We are not animals, we have Thought Process, We are not Driven by Pure Instinct. This is less apparent in some than in others. But that ABILITY TO CHOOSE, Has also been Mankinds Greatest Burden.
But there is something else I see and that is that To Many times, through out History of Mankind, Religious beliefs have be used for Inexplicable Crimes and for the Control of Other People´s lives. And that goes for examples like the Crusades and Inquisitions and Jihad or to the Soviet Ukraine Genocide or Pol Pot in Cambodia, Conversion To or the Elimination of Faith.
Now My Qestion to You is,
Will You Be Free Men and Women or will you be just a Collective of Another Sort. I Choose FREEDOM and LIBERTY and I will stand with Any Man or Woman that will like wise Choose Freedom and Liberty for each in their own Manner.

BIG FYI on Glenn Beck... A successful con-man speaks solid truth about 99% of the time.
From wiki - "The first known usage of the term "confidence man" in English was in 1849; it was used by American press during the United States trial of William Thompson. Thompson chatted with strangers until he asked if they had the confidence to lend him their watches, whereupon he would then walk off with the watch-"
Beware of what Glenn Beck asks of you.
Back ground info - GB he is NOT a patriot by a long stretch. He was first in calling for the arrest of the Constitution loving, radical, lawless sign waving/sign posting terrorists known as Ron Paul supporters (not to be braggadocios, but we were the first to be on the Homeland security's domestic terror watch list - MIAC report)! The 3%, before 3% was cool.
Recall the "confidence man" from above.... Glenn Beck is now calling for one of the most heinous forms of taxation ever imposed on a people - a hidden tax known as the "Value Added Tax" (VAT tax). What the people can't see, the people won't feel. Just what an over-sized, bloated, and out of control government would love!
I see some fairly heated comments here and I just want to say that every single Threeper here is precious to me, no matter how you got here or how developed your philosophical or ethical precepts are. I neither can, nor want to, dictate to anyone. I can tell you what I think, as I have done. My understanding of the Bible is that Elohim is for Life and hates death and every thing that leads to death. Before Liberty, you must have life. I want you all to choose life and with that life achieve freedom and abundant Life. I want to encourage, not discourage, you in this and I want you to know that the God of the Bible is with you. I want you to understand the dangers of choosing, or allowing, things that lead to misery and death and therefore choose life. All of you here are my brothers that I care for deeply. I only pointed out a danger that I see so that you, my brothers, will not accept less than what Elohim has in store for you - Abundant Life, victory and freedom.
Whether you Believe or not, you are on the right side of this conflict and I am with you.

Take your blinders off. Glenn Beck is almost alone in exposing the truth about what is happening to this country. You don't have to agree with everything he says or his religion to still be thankful he is on the air.
