Obama's "Change Agent" Killer Tomato leaves the administration to go back and hide in the bushes of collectivist academia.

"Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that." -- CPT Malcolm Reynolds, Serenity, 2005.
Cass Sunstein, Obama's "Regulatory Czar" and Killer Tomato.
Back when I was a callow youth, during my Benedict Arnold period of leftist nitwittery, there was a word that none of us wanted to be accused of: radish. For you see a radish is red on the outside but white on the inside. It was a white leftist thing, "Uncle Tom" black folks being found guilty of the same crime were called "oreos." Still are, from what I hear. The left is nothing if not fully racist in its own obsessive way. Anyway, the opposite of a "radish" was a "tomato," said with approval because a tomato is red all the way through. . . Cass Sunstein is a tomato . . . A killer tomato.
Long time readers may recall my warnings about Obama's use of the collectivist practitioners of perverted social science like Cass Sunstein, first in April 2009 with this article, Obama's Change Agents: "Made more sinister . . . by the light of perverted science." Later that month I wrote more comprehensively about Sunstein in "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes."
Well, yesterday Politico carried the announcement, "'Regulatory czar' Cass Sunstein returning to Harvard."
Cass Sunstein, administrator of the powerful Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the White House Office of Management and Budget, will return later this month to his previous post at Harvard Law School, the White House will announce Friday.
Sunstein, a celebrity academic who met Barack Obama when they were both teaching at University of Chicago Law School was among the world’s most-quoted law professors when he came to Washington in 2009. He was named the new president’s chief regulatory enforcer (often called the “regulatory czar”) as head of OIRA, “oh-eye-ruh,” an office that gets little attention but is among an administration’s most potent levers.
Like Obama, Sunstein embraces “behavioral economics” – an emphasis on human behavior, rather than abstract theory, for identifying incentives to promote desired financial and environmental activity by individuals and corporations. The field of study supplied early underpinnings for Obama’s plans for health care and financial regulation. . .
So the big brain Killer Tomato goes back to the collectivist patch from which it spawned. There was some talk early on that Sunstein's theories were evident in the Gunwalker Plot, but thanks to administration stonewalling no hard evidence has yet surfaced to support that anonymous allegation. One thing to be sure of, we have not seen the last of Sunstein's socialist behavioral engineering efforts.
LATER: WND has this column on Sunstein's departure, "Is this why it's sunset for Sunstein? Regulatory czar's controversial views could become election issue."

He's proven he is a crazy loser.

Good riddance to bad rubbish !.Oh goodness gracious did I just say that?. The great regulation CZAR ! might want to " tax my dissenting opinion "!.What kind of moron would sit in a class and listen to this scumbag`s drivel?.

Sunstein is a "soft" fascist. He prefers the carrot to the stick.

In all honesty, he should really be characterized as a behaviorist, not an economist. Economists view man as a rational, purposeful being; behaviorists see man as a two-legged lab rat.

A word of warning, it is not because he is controversial that the admin is letting him go. It is rumored that if obama gets a 2nd term, Sustein might be readying for the Supremes.

It is a surprising move IMO. These people do nothing without careful calculation.

I wonder what atvantage he sees to doing this?

I don't think it's a retreat. Much like the British back in the 18th Century their brains cannot process the thought they might lose.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. Not a chance! At some point, the period for talking will end. Then, we will either lose the Republic, or regain it. It that struggle, the Cass Sustein's will be irrelevant.

Do you really think with Romney as the repub candidate that he will make it an issue? This will be forgotten quickly. Romney is a potted plant in danger of losing hugely to Obama. Look at the electoral college map right now to see how far behind Romney is. Keep in mind these people may be let go for a while but will be in the wings as advisers ala Van Jones.

Doesn't anyone think that this is Sunstein's "R&R" before his inevitable nomination for the nomination to a judicial position on a Federal appellate court. I guessing that egg is in the basket of Obama winning re-election. If he does, you can be assured that Mr. Sunstein will be sitting on the SCOTUS before the end of 2014. Given his reputation in the legal profession, and recent developments, I wouldn't be surprised if Chief Justice Roberts testified for the Senate to approve the nomination.
