Bob Owens throws a hissy fit. The Fudds are overwrought. Yes, that's definitely the term, overwrought.

Overwrought: adjective. (1.) in a state of nervous excitement or anxiety. Synonyms: tense, agitated, nervous, on edge, edgy, keyed up, worked up, high-strung, neurotic, overexcited, beside oneself, distracted, distraught, frantic, hysterical.
Long Gun Open Carry Idiots Cost Us AGAIN, This Time in Washington State.
Bob Owens outdoes himself in the pejorative department, calling people he doesn't know who participated in an action he wasn't at and therefore doesn't know the details about: "drooling simpletons" who do "incalculable damage to the image of gun owners"; "knuckle-draggers" who "don’t understand the long-game, and can’t grasp that the average citizen thinks that a person carrying a long gun to a protest of any sort is most likely unhinged"; and "cretins" who need to be controlled by right-thinking people -- you know, like Bob Owens. Yup, overwrought alright.

Bob Owens is a copsucker who also is adequate at one side of the open carry argument, but cannot see the other side of said argument to save his life. I no longer visit his blog.

Rules for radicals. Demonize, demoralize, ostracize. Like watching a coyote and roadrunner cartoon. You know what is coming and how it always turns out.

Is Bob Owens on the Judenrate's payroll too?

Overwrought ... and Underthought!

Divide and Conquor is working well for the Pro-gun control non-gunners ... some in our ranks are doing it for them ...

The enemy of my enemy is my friend - learn the paradigm OR lose.

Open Carry demonstrators are NOT going to go away any time soon. Include them or throw the game.

According to Owens, the last thing we should be doing is actually exercising our rights. He prefers we negotiate them away as slowly as possible - and heaven forbid we disturb the hoplophobes in the process.

He does have a point at least worth arguing about (although one hopes for more mature language than what he used in that article to defend his point). I wrote an article exploring this point:
http://www.ncc-1776.org/tle2010/tle589-20100926-07.html

I think the time for resistance is at the initial infringement, nipping it in the bud. Another time is when the government has gone full Stalin and we are completely at war. In between those two conditions, Owens' position seems more reasonable; however there comes a point when it no longer makes sense to back up. It's a matter of opinion, but I believe we are past that point.

In the big picture, gun control is failing. The question is, why do prohibitionists give up? I believe it happens primarily because they understand that we, their opponents, have reached that point of no longer backing up, and any more advances (from their point of view) would come at extreme cost. Unlike some, I don't believe most prohibitionists (outside the really unhinged ones) want to see piles of dead bodies in their neighborhoods.

We need to do a better job of patrolling our own, folks, because if we don’t find a way to control these cretins, the forces of gun control will be certain to exploit them for every bit of political capital that they can.

A petty tyrant like Mike Bloomberg [& Bob Owens] shouldn’t be telling you how to live.

Went to 'BobOwens.com' and then to the 'BearingArms.com' website... and it seems there is a tracker being called; "Town Hall-Salem Web Network".

interesting. 'BobOwens.com' does not call a tracker, the 'PJmedia' link does not, but 'BearingArms.com' does; each way I tried to get there- from the BobOwens link, or typing address in, or from the link here at SipseyStreet.

hmmmm. Somebody is watching 'BearingArms'.

Bob needs to switch to de-caf . Someone smarter than me said the rifle has replaced the torches and pitchforks . And it's no time like the present to show up at our Capitals and remind those who we elect that their votes have consequences.

Although I don't in any way agree with Owens' veiled deference to statism AND I absolutely support what those brave Washingtonians did...I do have to ask, what exactly is wearing a gas mask going to accomplish FOR the cause of freedom, because where I sit, it should remain in the car or BOB, or even in one's EDC bag as a deterrent against government doing what it does best -- initiate non-defensive violence. But wearing it makes middle class people automatically think "Alex Jones" instead of "Boston Tea Party".

The gas mask wearer was also protesting encroaching anti-mask 'rules' such as this:

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (Washington, D.C.)
§ 22-3312.03. Wearing hoods or masks.
(a) No person or persons over 16 years of age, while wearing any mask, hood, or device whereby any portion of the face is hidden, concealed, or covered as to conceal the identity of the wearer, shall:

(1) Enter upon, be, or appear upon any lane, walk, alley, street, road highway, or other public way in the District of Columbia;

(2) Enter upon, be, or appear upon or within the public property of the District of Columbia; or

(3) Hold any manner of meeting or demonstration.
