Too much truth for college students to handle? Duquesne University, a nominally Catholic institution, censors a poster critical of communism. Go figure.

University Forbids Poster That Takes A Stand Against Communism.
"A poster meant to illustrate the number of individuals who have been murdered by collectivist governments was deemed too harsh by officials at Duquesne University, which disallowed the image from hanging on campus."

They are Catholic. What do you expect?

DU would probably ban these articles because of the images and concepts:

Funny, the media has no problem showing skulls, mass graves, etc. of collectivist victims dumped into the earth. We all possess skulls. They are visible when you are killed by a collectivist's bullet and allowed to decompose. Just nature at work. Another institution of "learning" alarmed by an illustration of the truth?

How is this NOT an abridgment of the sophomore's free speech....especially on a college campus?

Seems a lawsuit is in order.

To A Ninny Mouse - that means you, anony @ 9:50 AM - you might want to think before you display your bigotry and ignorance in writing.
You might want to see how many
Catholics died during WW1, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan before running off at the mouth. In fact, you may one day need a Catholic - like the writer here - to cover your back if the SHTF.

That is a brilliant comment. You are playing right into the secular progressive game plan. Let's split up the Christians because they are easier to defeat when they are divided. I am a Catholic and a conservative and I am sure are goals are aligned. Duquesne is barely Catholic much like georgetown.

J3, Catholic parishioners are one thing. Catholic leadership is quite another thing.

I think of the church hierarchy as the original collectivists. It seems to infect all Christian churches (and labor unions) that reach a certain size, big enough for the collectivists to see power in running it.

I'm Catholic as well (a convert even) and I don't appreciate Anonymous @ 9:50 AM either.

He's entitled to his opinion, however wrong, and pigheaded it may be, and I'll be praying for him.

Sadly, a great many Catholic Universities in this nation and around the world are "Catholic in Name Only".

Notre Dame even gave President Obama, the most pro-abortion president in the history of this country, a man who even called down the blessing of Almighty God onto Planned Parenthood, an honorary law degree...

I recall the Maryknoll Sisters in Central Amerika were supporters of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, as I recall. The Catholic Order supported all the things they did during their tenure as rulers. I don't think anyone got upset until someone murdered several of the order.

Having just deleted a string of inappropriate comments that seek to refight the religious wars of the 16th and 17th Centuries, I declare enough to the anti-Catholic diatribes and equally offensive back-and-forth thus created.

Sheesh.

Mike,
This is not an anti-religion diatribe, so please don't delete.
/snarc as follows:

But. . . but. . . but. . I thought that colleges and universities were places where young minds were SUPPOSED to be exposed to new ideas, and grow, and stretch, and expand.
Unless those "new ideas" contradict standard socialist/communist/collectivist/Libtard orthodoxy. THEN they're to be carefully examined, quarantined, and violated of their 1A rights.
