The NFL Goes all Bloomberg on Gun Owners

After having banned concealed carry in all of their stadiums, and even ordering women to give up their purse in favor of see-through plastic bags, (don’t ya feel safer now?) the NFL has accelerated its war on gun ownership and the Second Amendment by trampling on the First Amendment. The League has refused to air a commercial for Daniel Defense in the 2014 Super Bowl on grounds that the weapons manufacturer violates the NFL regulations for “prohibited advertising categories”. Their rejection, however, appears rooted in political activism, rather than strict adherence to long standing advertising rules.

"...see through plastic bags ..."

You can spot the women who visit prisons by their see through plastic purses.

Nice touch of ghetto culture NFL. Way to go.

We 2A advocates need to start boycotting these entities. Perhapsmif we acted withna little unity, a very loud message would be sent.

I guess the NFL acually thinks we NEED them. If enough people would stay away from their games, they will see which side of the toast is buttered.....

Obituary: After watching the Dallas Texans, cheering when we got the 'big league' Dallas Cowboys. Watching and rooting for years. Happy with the game of football. Watching Landry get humiliated by a carpetbagging crook from Arkansas. Now the crook puts a loser on the field, playing a game I no longer recognize, and demands several hundred dollars for the privilege of watching them lose. The NFL is the same everywhere. They want me to watch some fake entertainment event they call 'football'. I give it up. No more NFL. No more girly PC entertainment. Jones, et.al., can go to hell. (AT&T had to bail him out of his stadium fiasco) The crooks are winning. And they will continue to win. Right up until they don't.

In that day, Jones will retreat from Highland Park, TX to Lake Hamilton, AR, where he has armed guards in place to protect his hide. (The hypocrisy) It won't work. It won't work. It will be the same for all of the greedy, politically active (bought off) owners. That is my take on the formerly glorious NFL, and how it will all end in a pile of ashes. With the massive stadiums serving as monuments to man's greed and corruption. Collapsing into the mire and desolation of formerly great American cities.

Interesting. The NFL makes its piles of cash from the fans, and they seem to be quite unafraid of offending those fans.

Why is that? Is it because they believe fans who are shooters love their football more than they value their rights?

Oh, and isn't the NFL and NBA known for trying to tell their players that they can't own guns? That story broke some time ago.

I would be pleasantly surprised if a significant number of fans stopped spending their hard-earned money on football because of the NFL's position.

People, time to turn your back on these bozos (with maybe a protest letter to tell them why). Find another league or another sport to follow. Considering their audience, which has got to have a majority of gun owners if you ask me, they should be easily turned by a run for the exits. But it takes people deciding to go for the exits.

The NFL has for some time now, been on a chik-i-fi-cation rant with sensitivity training....for Pro Football Players? Now they are having anti-bullying arbitration negotiations. That, the tenancy for pro players to have criminal records, and now the anti gun bent...I'm done with the NFL.

Why any gun owner in this country would pay money to attend games and support the NFL or any other sports organization that suspends our Constitutional rights is beyond me.

50 plus years ago I realized that America was following Rome to destruction, and that "bread and circuses" were primary tools of the enemy. Amusement is,if you consider the word carefully a (away from) muse (thinking or reflecting) and something I don't believe we have the luxury of enjoying at this late date. Glorying in someone else's accomplishments to the accompaniment of plenty of fattening snacks and mind numbing beverages will be lamented on a future battlefield. As much as it is possible, be healthy and fit to be ready for whatever comes your way.

What makes MLB better than NFL?

Big money sports hates your civil rights, across the board.

In 1999, the businesses who contributed to the HCI campaign against Proposition B (concealed carry in Missouri) included the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, St Louis Rams, and St Louis Cardinals. Hallmark Cards and Sprint were on that list too.

Mr Davis has it right.

TPTB merely substituted "Beer and Ballgames" for "Bread and Circuses".

BTW, who in hell is interested in a spectator sport?

I prefer activities I engage in personally. Not this vicarious crap. And, within their physical capabilities, everyone else should too.

Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks."

These are businesses where the bottom line is the bottom line. If you just boycott their business they only see a drop off in revenue with no clear picture why it's happening. The corporate yes-men around the big cheese will come up with all sorts of business school B S on why it's happening. Instead, what you want to do is write a calm, well reasoned, polite letter to Mr. Cheese himself explaining why you are withholding your hard earned dollars. Explain that you also intend to explain it to his sponsors, business suppliers, and the media as well. Otherwise you're wasting your time.

Guys, the NFL is losing money and that is why they build unnecessary new stadiums and extort billions from the taxpayers in the process. The only way this will eventually end well is with the overthrow of this collectivist form of government, the restoration of our Republic and the trial of all the miscreants involved in the longstanding treason we see!
