Sheesh! So many "outs" in such a short story. I wonder if she really interviewed this mystery undercover man? How did she meet him? How did she even learn of his existence?

Sounds to me like she stumbled on a Secret Squirrel type with an active imagination, a slick story, and a fake badge. I'm inclined to doubt that real UC are quite so romantic or so ignorant of OPSEC.
