TSA to build firing range in Tampa Florida. I guess they want to be able to shoot 95-year-old grandmas who refuse to surrender their Depends.

Thanks to Irregular Steve for forwarding this link.

"The range shall be indoors". Indoor training is perfect for these retards. What?, no video games, drinks, snacks, or child porn movies? Who's running the tattoo concession? If there ever was an unprofessional, amateurish, joke of a govt. agency, this one qualifies.

Thats all we need, A TSA pervertwith a gun.

It's coming folks, armed TSA agents. You think the checkpoints at the airports were bad already, wait until the morons have guns. You will soon see an incident where the government will claim that "only if the TSA agent was armed, we could have prevented this". This will allow the arming of TSA agents. Be afraid, be VERY afraid.

So they plan to arm those little pricks... Guess they expect that people are not going to take this much longer unless they can threaten them with death....

A moral people would refuse TSA's custom.

Pretty definite set of specs there.

How many ranges do you figure meet them all? One? Two?

What's the chance some range owner buddy-buddy with the guy who wrote the specs?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Sorry guys BUT: RIF*

There was nothing in the article relative to TSA - in case you are not aware there are 22 separate agencies that comprise DHS. Previously (read existing) built indoor ranges with a specific set of capabilities - nothing in the article regarding actually building a new range. And - yes - indoors - so that specific tactics can be practiced (think Air Marshals) without interference or observation - think closed practice session for football.
Comments like the previous posters are what give the antis the ability to point out how - well - stupid us gun people are.
Not meant to be confrontational but we must be well aware of what we do/say/post.

*Reading Is Fundamental.

Ahhh, just what we need. The continuing militarization of government law enforcement agencies.

Are they going to have TSA SWAT teams now also?

Dear Anonymous @ 11:24 a.m.

Reading IS fundamental, for sure. Reading the very top of the link, AS IS ALSO POSTED, shows the agency to be DHS and the next line shows the OFFICE to be TSA.

Your rather snarky comments should be redirected to the individual who faces you in the mirror each day.

I eagerly await your retraction an apology.

The man is right. It doesn't say anything about the TSA, though it doesn't specifically include or EXclude any particular department.

Read Mike's post. Then click the link and read the top of the page where it gives information such as proposal number, AGENCY (DHS) and OFFICE (TSA). There are four lines of information as to who put forth this request for bid, which I cannot paste here because my allegedly smart phone won't let me. But read it for yourself, it's right there.

Perhaps now is the time for all US citizens to buy and learn how to use a gun and train in some kind of defensive martial arts.

They can do to us whatever we let them do. No TSA agent, perverted or not, armed or not, will ever fondle my crotch. I have not boarded an aircraft since they started this nonsense and have no intention of doing so until they stop. I guarantee if Americans stopped boarding aircraft the airlines would make TSA find some other way.

There is no justice.
Just Us!

OK - DC Wright - you want an apology - ME CULPA - MEA MAXIMA CULPA - there are you happy now?

TSA is not a law enforcement agency - they do NOT have sworn commissioned agents (ie no gun carriers).
Now as to 'snarky' - perhaps you need to rethink how we (gun people) are perceived by the media in particular - why give them any openings?

Won't post my bona fides. From what you posted I expect you wouldn't believe them anyway.

My issue with your post was the strong implication that Mike was lying in that post, talking about TSA's request for a bid. I agree, accuracy on OUR part is an absolute MUST. We can't afford to be caught stretching the truth one iota. And yes, your comment seemed somewhat "snarky," as I understand the term. It was surprising to me, as there are very few who post responses here are that way, and the general tenor of your post showed you to be one of the good guys.

I realize that TSA is not a L.E. organization; rather it's a collection of perverts and pedophiles masquerading as a government security organization. However, the implication that they may start ARMING these pervs is both newsworthy and more than a little frightening. For that reason, I felt it important to correct your apparent misapprehension about who was requesting range time.

Don't need your bona fides, you come here and Mike tolerates your presence, as he does mine; that's good enough for me just now.

Its for Federal Air Marshalls, not TSA security officers. Geez, wake up out there.

Show of hands... would anyone here patronize an establishment that took that contract?

Anonymous 12:05... you know it's for sky marshals and not TSA, AS IT CLEARLY STATES, because...???
