Ron Paul's Statement on Gunwalker. Does this presage statements by all the GOP candidates?

"Ron Paul Issues Statement on ATF Gun Scandal."

LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, 2012 GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul commented on the recent revelations about the federal government’s botched program to track gun sales. See statement below.

“The ATF has a long history of abusing our Second Amendment rights, so I was glad to see Congressman Issa demanding answers on the Project “Gunwalker” scandal.

“My hope is that the recent hearing will further expose the ATF's and Attorney General Eric Holder's assaults on law-abiding gun owners, and more people will start questioning the need for unconstitutional agencies like the ATF that exist solely to infringe on American citizens' God-given right to keep and bear arms.”

I've recently been declared a "paulista moonbat" by another blogger. And "moonbat" I may be. However, this statement by Dr. Paul is yet another reason for me to stand by him. If nothing else Dr. Paul is consistent and always stands by the Constitution.

Hey! If it comes down to a choice between Ron Paul and a monstrous, monstrosity of a state, Ron wins! And his son can be Vice President! I'd like Sarah in the mix too because that would be a winner of a team for sure.

I of course meant a winner for us.... not them.

I will eat my hat if any of the other GOP candidates actually call the ATF unconstitutional. If they say anything at all, they will claim it a good agency that has a few corrupt people in it and just needs some house cleaning.

I honestly believe that the election of Ron Paul for president in 2012, is our last chance at peacefully turning this country around.

When no one is able to refute his assertion that the ATF exists to infringe upon that which shall not be infringed, other politicians might jump on the wagon... provided they think the wagon is going in their direction.

Woody, I am right there with you! If we mend our borders and restore our Constitution, no EXTERNAL enemy can bring us down. However, a big part of that needs to be a SPIRITUAL REVIVAL, a return to the God of our fathers, before such a political renewal can happen.

I've never been the type of person to actually get off my hind-end and write my Congressman about something. This Gunwalker horseS*** has changed that. I haven't noticed the Rep. from my particular district utter a peep about Gunwalker yet, so I emailed suggesting politely that she should. If you have not emailed or written your Rep. in Congess - do it - it only takes a few minutes. I will continue to bug these people for a response even if it hair-lips the devil. It is no exaggeration to state that our government has been infiltrated by Chicago based organized crime. It has to be stopped.

Right on, Mr. Woodward. The only legitimate candidate in the running who actually understands what the Constitution is.

Remember 100% ironclad, simple candidate rule: If the press (and their controlling inner parties) are against them...YOU should be for them.

Both the Rinos and the Demon-crats hold contempt for Dr. Paul.

Therefore, sign me up for the moonbat express, as well.

All aboard !!!!!

Last election, I was one who questioned the sanity of Ron Paul, but I climbed on his wagon when I began to listen to what he said, and not what the media says he said.
I only wish he were 20 years younger.

This statement alone should be enough to nominate him to run for president by every gun owner in America.. mainly because he actually means it.

Cain has already made it clear he is NOT a 2nd amendment fan. Romney--as a typical RINO, he'll say whatever he thinks will work, then do what he wants if elected.

Works for me.

Isn't this what a lot of people were saying last time around?

I suppose they'll be saying it next time around as well...

I know a lot of people have problems with Ron Pauls foreign policy but if we don't get someone like him to take care of our own country we're screwed. I believe this will be the last election in the country before a full crackdown on our gun rights and the implementation of full martial law due to economic collapse, and the multiple of other issues facing us. As a 3per I'm prepared to fight but i rather return to consititional values without having to go down that path if possible.

Further Texas Gov. Perry is NOT the answer. I'm a texan and the only reason I want him to run is to get the hell out of here. He is a rino in sheeps clothing.

God Bless Ron Paul!!. It is a sign of just how far down the road our country has gone, that Ron Paul can be portrayed as a "Kook" for standing up for our actual Constitution. Nice thing about him is that he really means it. Perhaps the last statesman in Washington DC. I supported him last time, and I will support him this time, but the Republicrats will no doubt saddle us with another "War Hero" like Mc Lame.

I have admired Dr. Paul for years and it tore my guts out to have to vote Republican because I knew it was the only way to keep us from ending up where we are. Of course the Good Ol' Boys at GOP keep shooting themselves (and us) in the foot by continuing their attempts at electing yet another "Party Hack", our future's lookin' mighty grim Boys and Girls. 4 more years of Mr. Obama will surely kill our nation, and the best offering that the GOP can make is...Mitt Romney? He proved himself unable to run one state, let alone 50. We've GOT to figure a way to put Ron Paul in his slot at the GOP! Else, I fear all is lost.
