Brit Twit Thinks We're Nitwits. "Obama admin faces the unique opportunity to turn Issa's witchhunt into a valuable discussion on US gun-regulation."
"Time to target gun control" he says. "US public opinion will never be more favourable than now, after the Giffords shooting and disastrous ATF gun-tracking scheme."
The UK Guardian. As left as the NY Times or the WaPo. Incredible, isn't it! Because the Hussein Regime created Fast and Furious to "legitimize" new gun legislation, it should now come to fruition. Never mind the criminality, the responsibility for MULTIPLE murders. It was the good LEFTIST thought that really counted!!!
Man. Old Rodrigo sure has his thumb on the pulse of the American public. Or mabye he has it up his butt. You can never be sure about those wiley Brits.
Everytime I see something like this from the place that Britian used to be ... I think "lend-lease". Except now-a-days, I believe, that instead of saying "Help! Send Weapons!" the creatures that occupy this isle will keep a stiff upper lip, loosen their neckties, and proffer their necks to whatever wolf is slavering for their blood.
Makes you wonder what the 'author' of the article would have done had it come to light that the Tories or Whigs (whichever Brit party was in power) had knowingly been providing arms to the IRA during the 'wee troubles' in Belfast etc.
He is using the typical liberal trick of trying to tie 2 separate issues together - gun control laws (and/or the 'wisdom' thereof) and illegal acts by a government entity(s).
"Rodrigo" is not a "Brit". I don't have the slightest idea what he is but please understand "Briton" means ENGLAND, SCOTLAND AND WALES. Those are COUNTRIES with NATIONALITIES of the SAME NAME. So a "Brit" is either a "Scotsman" a "Welshman" or an "Englishman".
"Rodrigo" may very well be a UK citizen but never, ever, ever confuse citizenship -- which is an arbitrary, legal technicality, with NATIONALITY which is a term of blood kinship.
Only stupid Americans think the two are the same. Only in America can a Kenyan be called "American" as the Pilgrim Fathers roll, spin, and jump in their graves.
E pluribus unum don't mean what the masses think it means.
Sign me, SON OF THE PILGRIM FATHERS AND TOUCHY ABOUT GLIB DISPARAGEMENT OF MY HERITAGE -- "BRITISH" specifically "ENGLISH" before it broke off to be "AMERICAN"!
Well, the Brits ARE subjects, after all. What would you expect?
Last year there was a short-lived series on BBC about some sort of plague erupting and killing around 90% of the people. In Britain, the few who managed to keep their guns or scrounge one up were virtual kings. Kinda hard to face even a pistol with a cricket bat.
What this twit - and every other commentator from other places is that the people in the U.S. REALLY ARE DIFFERENT. Everyone here is the descendant of people who emigrated from their homelands. Unlike the twit who wrote that little piece, our ancestors pulled up stakes and braved a perilous ocean crossing to find a better life. The ancestors of the people elsewhere were the ones who chose to stay put and accept the bullshit. The Europeans are pretty well all sheep who may grumble and bridle at the restrictions their governments place on their freedoms but none the less they obey. "Gun Control" such as the Brits have will never work here. NEVER!!! All any attempt to impose such on us here will do is incite rebellion.
The Brit's are correct that it is "time to target gun control", but not the way they mean it.
It's time to repeal the 1986 "$30K M-16's for US citizens, $300 for cartel gunmen" law, GCA 1968 and GCA 1934. US citizens should be able to arm themselves individually and as Militia units as well as they can afford without unconstitutional federal legislation interfering. The standard for militiaman individual weaponry is what the active duty soldier of the day carries as non-crew-served items : select-fire carbine or rifle, grenades, anti-tank/anti-helicopter weapons. Take 'em home and lock them up safely for defense of State and Country. Wide distribution of weapons into trusted hands prevents central control/seizure/destruction of them in armories by an enemy (foreign or domestic).
I seem to recall that part of the "Bundels for Britian" were request for Americans to contribute sporting firearms to help arm the British in case of invasion
Well that is the direction that I predicted it would end up going long ago. How else did the "B"ATF survive Waco and the "good ol boys". They had horses asses like Chuck Schumer making up ridiculous stories to sell to the "sheeple" and got away with it. They will try and probably get some traction when they do so again.

Just so. Or, as Robert Heinlein put it so succinctly,
"The cowards never started and the weak died on the way."
"The cowards never started and the weak died on the way." You credited Heinlein, I think it was someone else.
I thought it was Walt Whitman from "The Way West" but I just Binged the quote and most seem to credit Kit Carson. Not to put too fine a point on it, I hope; I like to attribute properly when I can.
According to comments Rodrigo Camarena left on the comment section of my blog post, he is American (I presume that means US citizen). He submitted that article to The Guardian from Mexico City.
I had a few exchanges with him there, until he said adios.

Think I'll reload some more ammo...just in case.

My response in their comment section, cited on my blog.
I was very tempted to take off the gloves, but I figured the censors would block me.
The last time that the British tried to implement a gun-control scheme in America lead to a little thing shindig at Lexington Green.
Maybe this Brit should crack a book and look into Cpt. Parker and Issac Davis, and see what that participated last time.
