I have no problem at all with the idea that a religious school should have the right to decide for itself what aspects of popular secular culture it should let within its walls.
This is an argument that the school administration should be having with its faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and supporters.
Mike, if you knew a G_______d thing about American history you'd know about Mennonites. They've been here since early days, and they've been pacifist since the first. Your ignorance is showing. You are of course aware (now, because I'm telling you, you dumb___) that a) our national anthem is based on a Brit drinking song (To Anachreon in Heaven) and b) its hard to sing because of its vocal range. America the Beautiful would in fact, be a better national anthem, and plenty of folks who had a brain have made that suggestion. It's not a _______ conspiracy.
I didn't realize that there was a Mennonite Anti-Defamation League of such positive comedo-phobia. The slam that I took was rather directed at Goshen than the Mennonites, and yes I've been to Goshen and yes I know what Mennonites are.
Sheesh. That's the last time I try a commercial for Firesign Theater.
Hey Mike, Bill (and Domino) here... where's the book? "Absolved"... remember? You're going above and beyond the call of duty with the Gunwalker shit storm, and I love ya for it, but I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting for the book. Gimmee the skinny...
Domino, pour a shorty... and no licking the cork!
Love ya, bud! Bill (and the lovely and talented Domino) III
Anyone who reads the blog regularly should understand the post and not worry the least about it. Just another group of pacifists enjoying what's left of the freedoms that others earned for them.
There is a real difference between the sort of principled pacifism the Mennonites have traditionally espoused and the sort of pseudo-pacifism our panty-waisted left has been practicing for so long.

Got an infestation of hippies, Ma'am.

It really isn't anybody else's business.
I still quote those bastards (sometimes).
I'm probably the only guy I knew who listened to them straight!
Got any lynch?
I thought this was too far until I found out it is a Mennonite college. They're just being true to their beliefs.

Had no idea it was a Mennonite College! God bless them for their integrity.
