Funny story. Except that the govt. - not ATF but another agency - is going to ridiculous lengths enFORCing a law on the books intended to eliminate the market for certain wood types. If a musician has an instrument made from one of the prohibited species of wood he better be able to prove beyond any faint HINT of a doubt that it dates from before the import ban otherwise the feds will confiscate the instrument - be it mandolin or Steinway Grand Piano (ivory on the keys).
It has gotten so bad that Fender Guitars is having a REAL hard time. Even when they acquire the wood properly, they still are subject to no-notice raids and other harassment.
Q: What do you call 500 career civil servants (i.e. bureaucrats) scheduled for execution? A: Too little, too late.
Q: What do you call ONE THOUSAND career civil servants scheduled for execution? A: A start. Not a terribly good start but a start.
When was the last time you encountered a civil servant who was either?

Now that was music to my ears. Finally, someone is using sound judgement at the DOJ.

I bet they're the ones trafficking lemonade to the unlicensed underage workers operating out of our neighborhoods too.
