Child-Snatchers and Gun-Grabbers Unite

That makes perfect sense, if the terms “prudent and wise” are functional synonyms for “totalitarian.” If you have children and guns, you should expect to attract the malevolent interest of state functionaries who are eager to grab both.
Also, from David Codrea: Photo of trained child with gun prompts police visit to N.J. home.
“People it can happen that fast,” Moore told the forum participants. “Most people wouldn't have stood up to them like I did.”
Indeed. And until more of us do, the bureaucrats and enforcers will continue to act like our function is to serve them.

Growing up homeschooled, we had to be very careful about what pictures we took and about when we appeared in public during normal school hours to avoid harassment by Children's services.

Sad to say it, but people need to exercise more OPSEC when it comes to pictures with their guns as this is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Mr. Moore is to be commended for maintaining his composure and resolving the situation;
This however is exactly the type of situation that can cause a miscalculation and we are going to have real problems. It will matter not who fires the first shot, the results will be the same.

Mr. Moore did a great job, given that he had no notice until after the cops were trying to get into his gun safe. No way in Hell I'd be apologizing to the cops later if I were in his shoes.

I hope that the wife/mother is now properly educated. She let the Child Threatening Service and the cops into the home, at which point the situation was out of her control. If the cops hadn't shown some restraint the kids could have spent a month in the 'system'.
