The collectivists, at least, understand how crucial county sheriffs are to the success or failure of their plans.
From Texas:
Law would fire sheriffs for defying gun control measures
Supporters of the 380 sheriffs in 15 states who so far have vowed to defy new state and federal gun control laws claim that legislation is starting to pop up around the nation to fire any state elected or appointed law enforcement official who doesn't obey federal orders.
The first effort emerged in Texas. Legislation proposed by Dallas Democratic Rep. Yvonne Davis would remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws.
What's more, it would remove any elected or appointed law enforcement officer for simply stating or signing any document stating that they will not obey federal orders.
A gun lobbyist told Secrets, "Beware because once something like this is introduced in one state, it will be followed very quickly in several other states."
From Colorado:
Colorado sheriff says lawmakers holding up pay raises over gun stance.
“Senate Dems have made it known, ‘Sheriffs, obey or no pay for you,’” said Maketa, one of some 30 state sheriffs who attended public hearings on the gun bills to voice opposition. “The first word that comes to my mind is extortion.”

The assholes who would support this "law" also seem to be the same assholes who cheer when LE ignores immigration law.
The irony.
So now they want to pass laws that would fire elected officials?
We need to examine that move ... and how it may be applied at the Fedral level ... to infringers of Constitutional law - perhaps!

So much for Texans reputation of being alleged conservatives.
This oomes as no surprise to me, as my sister's children in the DFW area (Ft Worth side) are all flaming lefto-fascists who voted for Ubama uber Alles.
We'll see how dedicated the OathKeepers are if such laws pass. Will they renounce their association with Oathkeepers or hold the line?

It's a good thing Joe takes himself so seriously, because I can't think of anyone else who does.
Hey Joe - do us all a favor - shut the fuck up.
Sheriff, what we have hear is a failure to communicate. Let us put it simply: that's a nice pension you got there. Be a shame if anything happened to it and your family was left penniless out on the street. You have a nice day now, you hear?

The Left grows more desperate every day. They've overreached and like Giap at Tet, underestimated OUR resistance and the effectiveness of his VC in the South.
All that remains is for them to lash out like toddlers often do.
This is an excellent reason to form a local Committee of Safety. If your sheriff has the fortitude to stand in the face of fascist "lawmakers" then he shouldn't have to stand alone.
If I was a Sheriff in Colorado, it would be a ZERO Tolerance for the speed limit laws when it comes to certain elected Pubic Officials (no I did not mis-spell that since those Officials are skrewing us). I remember times when a trafic stop usually meant a thorough going-over for brake lights, turn signals and the list is endless. Those Pubic Officials might get more than they bargained for.
How exactly to you "fire" an elected official? Tell me how, because I and some of my neighbors would like to fire Senator Feinstein. I wasn't aware that there was any way to fire an elected Sheriff. I suppose some states have recall, and some might have impeachment. But fire? Tell me how that works.
Not in Texas. No Sir.
In Pennsylvania, the silence of the Sheriff's Association has been deafening. The Sheriffs have long been held in check by the politically motivated, Pennsylvania State Police. I have long supported the Sheriffs attempts at realizing their full and chartered power, because they are elected. The Pennsylvania State Police are appointed, serial liars, and nothing but a political force. But, due to the silence of the Sheriff's Association on supporting the Commonwealth's citizens, I withdraw my support. Many have written articles about how divisive the debate on the 2nd Amendment really is. While all of the divisions are real, new ones are appearing daily, as I mentioned above. Patriot citizens have long memories.
So, if a blatantly unconstitutional law is passed at a state or Federal level, then these legislators demand that the sheriffs enforce that law? If anything, the sheriffs are saving the state money by not enforcing blatantly unconstitutional law. Not enforcing such laws is part of the checks and balances built into government. Of course, fascist government officials would have a problem with this concept.
Talk about "shut the f**k up", our friends in law enforcement would be smarter if they didn't publicly announce their intentions. There is no stealth in that. Then, if/when those laws are passed, just keep it a secret that they're not enforcing them. That way the leftist scum wouldn't have advance notice which encourages them to propose laws at this time to fire those LE people.

This is why Soros went after Secretary of State positions across the country. Progressives need he SOS positions in their camp to facilitate doing away with county sheriffs altogether. Time to take note- some states have already eliminated their elected sheriffs.
It's all in effort to consolidate executive power.
Got Militia!!
I propose that anyone attempting to remove a lawfully elected Sheriff. By the citizenry of that County would be guilty of a felony and subject to arrest and hanging from a tree on the edge of town as a warning to all would be tyrants.
FOR THE LAST TIME FEDERAL LAW DOES NOT TRUMP EVERYTHING ELSE.
Federal law is only applicable in those things outlined in the Constitution ....PERIOD!!!
So they'll start with the non-enforcement of immigration law?
Politicians pass laws the way most people pass turds, and in the same anatomical fashion. If pols wanna abolish Sheriffs in the state where the Sheriff is immortalized in film, I suggest that EVERY tyrant who votes 'aye' is subject to immediate arrest (for overthrowing lawful government) and barring that, I would happily rejoice the hanging of each and every one of those miscreants!
SWIFT ... I'm in PA. If you'd email me at (myusername) at "me.com" I'll exchange contact with yiu to discuss the local political situation (if you're interested)
