Slouching toward civil war. Empowering the Federales in Colorado

"In military affairs, quantity has a quality all its own." -- Clausewitz.
"Oh, SHIT." -- George Armstrong Custer at the Battle of Little Big Horn.
WND reports: "State grants Secret Service vast new powers."
A bill is heading to Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper’s desk that Republican lawmakers say would give members of the Secret Service broad arrest powers in the state and could provide a framework for federal agents eventually to enforce gun restrictions.
“This is absolutely insane,” Rep. Lori Saine, R-Dacono, said. “In theory if a Secret Service agent is in a county where the sheriff has refused to enforce some of the recent unenforceable gun laws, the agent could arrest an individual if he believes the law has been broken.”
The bill.
Trying this hat on for size in Colorado.
Resister in the Rockies comments: "It's 1939 Again! The SS To Be Granted Arrest Powers in Commierado."
The Secret Service, for its part, tells us:
The Secret Service employs approximately 3,200 special agents, 1,300 Uniformed Division officers, and more than 2,000 other technical, professional and administrative support personnel.
My Uncle Bill killed bunches of German arschlochs wearing this scary patch. They died just as dead as their Fuhrer.
My observation: Why don't these citizen disarmament Colorado puke politicians threaten us with something we're scared of? In the event of civil war, the much-vaunted Secret Service (at least that part of it that ignores their oaths to the Constitution) would:
A. Be so busy protecting green-zoned politicians they wouldn't have time and personnel for anything else, and,
B. Their entire pitiful complement would represent less than a week's worth of casualties. After that, no more SS raid parties, in Colorado or anywhere else.
The question is, how many of these new SS wish to live to see retirement in that event?

I always heard Custer's last words being, "where did all these f-ing Indians come from?"

I could see "where did all these rednecks come from?" being famous last words, as well.

What the hell has happened to Colorado? Too many residents taking vacations at Martha's Vineyard? Unbelievable!

I'm puzzled why the Colorado bill is directed towards the Secret Service. Their duties are: investigation of financial crimes and protection of high Federal politicos. If the intent was to create a mechanism of enforcement of state gun laws (that otherwise were not being enforced) why didn't they name ATFE instead, or if it's numbers they want, the entire DHS? Is Colorado run over with counterfeiters? There's some backstory here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_Gang

The Cairo Gang was a group of British Intelligence agents who were sent to Dublin during the Irish War of Independence to conduct intelligence operations against prominent members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA). Twelve people, including British Army officers, Royal Irish Constabulary officers and a civilian informant, were assassinated on the morning of 21 November 1920 by the IRA in a planned series of simultaneous early-morning strikes engineered by Michael Collins. The events were to form the first killings of Bloody Sunday.

...fuse is burning, burning, burning ...

With the simple stroke of a pen, free men become criminals. Tyrants with pens making criminals of free men.

With the simple twist of words, criminals become terrorists pursued by federal police.

I ask, who are the traitors? Who committed the treason? Tyrants write laws condemning free men to ruin.

An untolerable act.

That's easy. The new H.R.347, which gives authorities the right to arrest you for simple protesting around those who the SS is protecting. Youbetcha. And, if I'm not mistaken, they can sentence you up to 10 fucking years...for protesting. Don'tcha just love Amerika?

These lady's and gentlemen once swore a oath of ' personal loyalty ' to Adolph Hitler . Guy's , as regards this ' Obama litmus test ' and recent revelations about demands of ' obedience ' placed on DHS officers and others . People your only obligation is to the Constitution of the United States and the American people ; ie , your own loved ones . Resign before you carry out illegal, immoral orders and risk becoming lepers in your own land .

Obama is coming to CO on Wednesday to celebrate gun control. He'd just love to arrest a bunch of gun owners while he's here. Can't let the prezzy or the press see the protesters or they might get nervous.

@SWIFT: "hat the hell has happened to Colorado?"

Remember how the GOP types were gloating a few years ago about how all of the Blue States were losing population, while the Red States were gaining? Well, guess who the Red States were getting Blue State statists.

What Americans need is a legal scholars analysis of how and when an armed insurrection against a tyrannical government such as Obama's can be legally undertaken. I have yet to see such an analysis. Perhaps one already exists, but is being kept from public view. If one does not exist, it would seem reasonable. It is needed. The armed Americans or militia must have a legal basis to begin any armed rebellion against a regime no longer restrained by the Constitution.

@ JAQUEBAUER: I don't believe that you will ever find a clear cut law describing when it is "legal" to overthrow a tyrannical government.

Just as the old adage that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," so it is with tyranny, liberty, justice or any other condition of humans. What to me may be a vastly overreaching government attempting to control every facet of my life may be viewed by a progressive puke as achieving overriding social justice with fairness for all.

We're living in a time where the vast majority of several generations have matriculated through leftist, statist controlled indoctrination centers (euphemistically called public education). To most of them the controls being asserted by the government are appropriate in assuring that we live in a safe and fair society -- they have no concept of liberty, self reliance or self discipline. To them the government is the provider of all that is good and the degree of liberty that is safe for us to be entrusted with.

According to the UCMJ officers are required to follow all lawful orders under all circumstances. But the same codification requires honest and responsible officers to not only refuse to follow unlawful orders, but to relieve the commanding officer who gives such an order from their command. But if an inferior ranking officer does relieve a superior ranking officer for violating the constitution it is up to the inferior officer to justify his actions after the fact.

The same case must be made after enough frustrated citizens arise in rebellion to throw off the shackles of our increasingly fascist government asserting more and more controls -- tyranny under color of law -- over our lives. If you're waiting for a "legal" green light for such a rebellion to take place, you are doomed to die wearing the yoke of tyranny you're complaining about.
