An Irregular needs some help on finding a redtick coonhound.

He sends the following email:

Do you know anyone within a couple hours of Pensacola (or on the way from Navarre FL to San Antonio) who breeds redtick coonhounds? One of my folks' hounds died and the other is inconsolable.

If you can help, please email me at GeorgeMason1776ATaolDOTcom and I will forward.

Thanks.

A male pup would be ideal. If I could pick him up next weekend on my drive to San Antonio (go to hell, TSA) that would be even better. Papered or non, doesn't matter, as long as he resembles the photo Mike posted.

Sorry that I can't help. But I feel for the poor fella (the lonely dog). I grew up with Black and Tan bloodhounds - we had 13 at one time. There was nothing quite so wonderful as running through the woods while hearing the sweet sound of Ellie, Jake, and the boys(at bay).

I guess ya' just had to be there...

Did a search for Red Tick Coon Hounds on the internet. I found my Blue Heeler pup this way. Here are links to the only two that I turned up:

In Kansas:
http://www.dogsnow.com/dog-ad-o2326161236

In Indiana: http://www.pupcity.com/puppies-for-sale/view.asp?adid=60125

Both seem to be recent, and the latter is for pups, the first for an older dog.

There seems to be some confusion between Red Tick Hounds and Red Bone Hounds, also, some breeders mention some red Blue Tick Hounds.

Don't know how much this helps, but good luck.

That happened to us when one of my beagles died. The surviving one started tearing the siding off the house until I brought home another beagle.
