Help WalMart with their contribution to Napolitano's tyranny state. No, seriously. I mean it. Help them every chance you get.

Many of you have read this announcement about WalMart's deal with the surveillance state devil, but for those of you who haven't:

Press Office
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Dec. 6, 2010

WASHINGTON -- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department's national "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country, launching a new partnership between DHS and Walmart to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

"Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe," said Secretary Napolitano. "I applaud Walmart for joining the 'If You See Something, Say Something' campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities."

The "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign, originally implemented by New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and funded, in part, by $13 million from DHS' Transit Security Grant Program is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

More than 230 Walmart stores nationwide launched the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign today, with a total of 588 Walmart stores in 27 states joining in the coming weeks. A short video message, available here, will play at select checkout locations to remind shoppers to contact local law enforcement to report suspicious activity.

Over the past five months, DHS has worked with its federal, state, local and private sector partners, as well as the Department of Justice, to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign and Nationwide SAR Initiative to communities throughout the country, including the recent state-wide expansions of the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign across Minnesota and New Jersey. Partners include the Mall of America, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Amtrak, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, sports and general aviation industries, and state and local fusion centers across the country.

In the coming months, the Department will continue to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign nationally with public education materials and outreach tools designed to help America's businesses, communities and citizens remain vigilant and play an active role in keeping the county safe.

Okay, there it is. The key portion is this:

A short video message, available here, will play at select checkout locations to remind shoppers to contact local law enforcement to report suspicious activity.

Now, boys and girls, there are folks who wish to boycott WalMart over this, but frankly, they'll never notice if those of us who do aren't there. Here is what they will notice (and this idea comes by way of my good friend Bob Wright of Eunice, NM):

Now, the message says, "contact local law enforcement." Ignore that and report to the nearest WalMart supervisor. Every time you see or hear this message in WalMart, be sure and run to the nearest WalMart supervisor and point out that there are suspicious people in their store that you believe are potential terrorists, or at least people who are criminals by virtue of their violation of U.S. federal laws on illegal immigration. Insist that THEY do something about it.

(And if you want to complain to WalMart about the ethics of becoming an arm of the surveillance state, you can file an ethics complaint by email here: https://www.walmartethics.com/gcs/ethicsconcern )

WalMart upper management could give a shit less about people who boycott them. What they can't stand is having their store supervision completely tied down with complaints THAT THEY THEMSELVES SOLICITED. So, every time you see or hear this message from Big Sis at WalMart, go to the nearest manager and complain. And if they won't do anything, then demand to talk to their boss. WalMart volunteered to become part of the informant apparatus of the federal government, SO LET US FORCE THEM INTO DOING WHAT THEY VOLUNTEERED TO DO. Eventually, the complaints of the various store managers whose time is being wasted will rise to corporate, and this snitch advertising program will either quietly go away, or if they are really inconvenienced, they will announce they are no longer participating.

So, take then at their word. And I cannot think of a better time to tie them up chasing phantoms than their busiest season of the year.

What can they do? They asked for a subjective judgment. How, then can they complain if you give it to them? It is not like YOU are calling the cops or making a false report. WalMart has volunteered their own supervision to be Big Sis' eyes and ears. So blind 'em, deafen 'em, baffle them with bullshit and rob them of as much time as you can.

Take them at their word and force them to adhere to their own policy. It will drive them crazy.

PS: Forward this call as far and as wide as you can. Let's tie the bastards in knots.

It's like you're going all Cloward-Pliven on them with a touch of old Saul thrown in-make them live up to their own rules.

What exactly does "suspicious" look like? In addition to encouraging racial profiling they are also asking the public to "judge a book by its cover". The guy buying ammo suddenly becomes suspicious to someone and authorities will be called to ask him what he intends to do with it. The old lady wearing a Tea Party T-shirt is a prime target of liberals as well.

If the public is going to be encouraged by numerous retail outlets, public and private transportation providers, hotel chains, and sports arenas to report their neighbors based on how they look or the legal actions they do then we in America are no better off than Jews in Nazi Germany before the Holocaust.

I am suspicious of people who know what they want and go directly to it (externally directed), as well as those who tarry too long (waiting for orders). Anyone who seems to have high situational awareness (probably foreign military trained terrorist) or won't look me in the eyes as we pass (guilty of something). People carrying backpacks or filled shoulder bags (terror equipment), people who seem overweight (suicide vests), people alone (lone wolf terr's), small groups (unpenetrated cels) who seem to have a "secret language" (sounds like: "dirka dirka muhammed hussein jihad inshall'a dirka"). If I came in with you and we share both parents, I'm keeping an eye on you, since you have been in Afghanistan near terrorists and it might have rubbed off.

Store managers need to be kept continuously aware of this, 'specially since Big Sis asked me specifically to do this as a Junior Agent.

Cheers.

Go to http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ and tell me how anybody would know that they were seeing suspicious activity or not? I mean, don't terrists try to blend in? How could you pick them out?

BTW, check out peopleofwalmart.com - these folks should be reported....wait, I resemble that remark!

I carry my seven-shot .357 revolver with the six-inch barrel nearly everywhere I go, including Walmart. Even though I have a concealed carry permit, this one does not conceal easily. Do you think I will now be reported as "suspicious"? It is probably another attempt to harass law-abiding citizens.

A customer in Chase bank once complained to the manager who was leading my wife and me to her office, that I was carrying a gun. She explained that it was legal. When in the manager's office, my wife said to her that she had a gun in her purse. She said, "We won't tell the nervous gentleman who doesn't like guns."

Don't forget: back in the early days of the TSA, post-9/11, with great fanfare they rounded up a bunch of illegal immigrants who worked at airports, labeled them as possible terrorist threats, and had them deported -- so there is precedent for Mike's logic.

Part of the argument at the time was that because they were in the country illegally, there was a chance they could be "compromised" and thereby forced to perform some terrorist act.

Regarding the Walmart ethics website - a corporation that supports communist economies is offering to give ethics advice???

OK, one more post...

Here's DHS's contact info to report suspicious activity including illegal aliens: http://www.ice.gov/contact/ which includes this statement: "To report suspicious activity, call ICE toll-free at 1-866-DHS-2ICE."

Imagine this scenario: A dutiful Walmart customer observes multiple illegals in the store, and reports to ICE. ICE field agents arrive and conduct an investigation. Illegals are now afraid to shop at Walmart. Walmart suddenly realizes it has lost a major portion of its customer base and begins kissing illegal alien a** like never before.

Niiiiccee Mike,
Just hasn't made it to my local Wally World yet.

For Dave:

Your assumption is that ICE will actually bother to investigate. That does not compute.
