ANYBODY storming into my house without knocking and having their faces covered WILL be going down . . . I might suffer in the process.
I am sorry but all SWAT, ATF and other alphabet soup agencies employing these no-knock tactics have, through their own past actions, set themselves up for future violent retaliation from sheepdog homeowners. They have provided the thug home invaders with a perfect role model to emulate and they unfortunately will have to reap the rewards of the examples they set. Real or pretend, they WILL receive the same greeting. AND it wont be friendly
Yes, regarding the title, "Thieves and murderers identify themselves as ATF agents." I was going to say "Truth in advertising".
As for how to tell if they are real, one fellow says that the best way is to roll them over after they stop moving, and look at their identification closely. But put on a pair of gloves first, you never know what kind of blood borne pathogens they may have.
That's what I love about castle doctrine where I live. Forcibly entry is automatic grounds for use of lethal force. Oh, and what kind of optic is that on the MP5? Looks a little ridiculous...
Do you REALLY think that they will allow you to apply "castle doctrine" in the event of an action by one of THEIRS? I surely hope you are not that foolish.
Could one of our brothers in law enforcement please share the reason why these no knock raids always feature the leo types with hoods? If one of them is under cover that's one thing but why all of them?
Being a law abiding citizen, if I find a masked gunmen(s) on my porch attempting to, or breaking in, it is a direct threat to my family's life. The problem will likey be dealt with by lethal force as there would be little to no choice.
The last clowns that attempted to roust us in the middle of the night met Mr. Remington and were the worse for it.
Castle Doctrine and the right of self defense. BTW, if trespassers shoot my livestock, they set themselves up to likely suffer the same fate. Stay out or suffer the consequences of threatening my family and livestock.
30 rounds of M855 loaded and 2 spare mags in the night stand drawer. I don't expect to survive a no knock encounter but the cost to them will be extremely high.
"Yes, regarding the title, "Thieves and murderers identify themselves as ATF agents." I was going to say "Truth in advertising"."
LOL! MYself included!! I thought it was going to be about another "bad cop" incident. Instead, it adds another serious aspect to an already dangerous problem.
Pisses me the hell off when the PTB expect us to know the law, snap-to when order to do so on a smash and enter, and take it in the shorts when THEY screw up. "Oh, it was in the performance of our DUTY, blah, blah, blah..." So much horse shit.
Anyone breaking into my house will be shot regardless of who they identify themselves as. My wife and kids are in the house and it and I will protct them. Not to mention the fact that my wife and kids know how to use our firearms and will also defend themselves and each other. If the ATF, police, SWAT or the keystone cops want to enter, they sure as hell better call first, and present the warrant when they knock.
In Larry Niven's sci-fi novel "Oath of Fealty," a closed self sufficient community (called an arcology) has posted on all entrances in English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Greek, Arabic and so on "If you come through this door you will be killed." Works for me. If we can't talk like civilized people, you are NOT civilized and deserve what you get. Justified dynamic entries are very, very few.
Sedition may be correct, if you've not thought out a plan other than "grab my piece and start blasting".
For example, at my house, they have to traverse an 850 foot driveway that is not straight to the house. It has numerous choke points. Access from any of my four neighbors is worse or impossible, some of them are former moonshiners. Once at my house, they have numerous obstacles to foot traffic, many of which change locations daily. And other things.
I think the late Jeff Cooper's advice is valid, add to that you shoot until the target changes shape.
I have done nothing illegal, so according to Plumber V State, and Joe Bad Elk V U.S., I have a legal right to defend myself against unlawful arrest even to the death of the arresting officer. If I survive I will sue. If not, then I hope my family sues the living crap out of them.

They are all the same so it does not matter and I have a response!

I meant to e-mail you when I heard the story on the radio.
Part of my mind wonders if the pump isn't being primed for some "unfortunate incident" to tar and feather gun owners with.

I wonder if those balaclavas are bullet proof?
One more reason to stay away from the junky ak type weapons and stick to a properly scoped bolt gun.

I think the proper answer on how to tell the difference between real ATF agents and fake one is that the fake ones don't shoot the dog first.

Ditto!....even if they knock, they're still going down.
You got business with me, you had better call on the phone ahead of time or have your affairs in order.
"It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view." -- Jeff Cooper
I'm serious about this request.

Taylor H ... I think the optic is a laser mainly because it has no eye piece.
+1 to John Richardson.
Plus, the fake ones have never been known to stomp a kitten to death. Not that I've ever heard...
If they're ATF, and you shoot back, they'll get reinforcements. If they're burglars, they won't.

Maybe, but if it IS the ATF, you have a real good chance of being killed anyway...if it's fake ATF, an even better chance of being killed.
It's better to die a free man than live as a slave.
Someone kicks in the door, kill them all and let God sort them out.
