There is one aspect of CSGV's philosophy, though, that I now realize I had completely misunderstood. The strongest reason for their aversion to gun rights isn't "gun violence," or the supposed threat of "right wing terrorism" (although they exploit both of those to the maximum extent possible)--it's that they believe that a strong-willed, vigilant citizenry, prepared to say "No!" to government excess, and equipped to back that denial up, is right now impeding the "progressive" agenda.
Part One.
Part Two.
Part Three.

"Embrace the self-defenders" -- until they're all permitted, photographed and their addresses logged in to the GPS (for their own protection, of course). Then throw them under the armored police vehicle too.
Once again, Mike, a very sincere thanks.
Keep in mind, it's not that they're afraid of our guns, they're afraid of our mindset.
They disapprove of guns because they disapprove of the habit of independence of mind.
They're far more interested in living in a world without gun owners, than they are in a world without guns.
jedge said [in part] "...They're far more interested in living in a world without gun owners, than they are in a world without guns."
I am far more interested in living in a world without gun-grabbers and other collectivists than I am in living in a world without guns and gun-owners!
So, exactly how do they think they will do this fine progressive work that needs doing without using guns?
It will take guns to overcome men with both God and guns on their side, and even then, they had better come with the 10:1 advantage in men and a supply line that will not quit. Such advantage and supply line will not exist for more than a few days in North America.
Other than that, the CSGV is basically correct that they are not fighting people who like their guns, they are fighting free people who will use guns to stay free.
Bring it, if you must.
Cheers.

And - proving the old about blind squirrels - they are absolutely right. Not that we have anything against "progressives" per se, we just don't like their idea of utopia.
Saw an old flick about William Tell recently. The people there were disarmed completely. And (as a result??) the local rulers were excellent examples of tyrannical rule by fear. Old Will was a lawbreaker who somehow kept the crossbow he was trained to use and issued in a war years earlier. Makes you think.

"The bottom line is that our Constitution is not a suicide pact."
Priceless. This was first heard around 1998. Catchy. It made the rounds at UCMP.
Actually, the safeguards in the Constitution are exactly that.
They can have my rifle when I have run out of ammo, broken the bayonet off in someone, busted the stock over someone eles' head. They had then best stop me from getting to one of my cashes, or they will have to start all over again.
Screw these pieces of human waste. It is my Inalienable Right and I will not give it up.
Back in the Corps, we used to say Semper Fi, do or die and smile. That is still how I feel today.
