Agree with the sweep comment, but just a FYI, back when I was on active duty, we used the weapon safety - this finger off the trigger business is relatively recent. Not a bad idea in the civil arena, but for war, finger on the trigger and thumb on the safety might not be a bad idea .....
Makes me wish I lived in Alabama so I could vote for him. Of course, I could take a tip from the progressive playbook and come down there to vote for him anyway.... well, maybe not, I couldn't sleep if I did that. May God bless his campaign and bring him and the people of Alabama victory!
I agree. I'm not sure the symbolism of throwing a weapon around will give the subtle message he wants to give. I'm COMPLETELY for what he is saying, but people with firearms knowledge are going to call him on that and people without firearms knowledge are going to freak out. If he'd kept it in a rifle holster on the horse with the stock obvious, that would have sent a better message.
He's got my vote. I'd feel better if he would have locked and loaded an M1 Garand with AP and changed his cowboy hat for a helmet, camouflage, circa Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. And then fixed bayonet for the commies out there.
He is not teaching gun safety for NRA juniors and Mall Ninjas.
Give 'em the finger in front of the trigger guard. Semper Fi Mountain Rifleman
Always refreshing to see someone that understands that the "dick" goes under the horse not on top of it.
I must say the whole rugged cowboy thing sure appeals to this old cowboy. Here in Dakota Territory we are having a large turnout of politicians wearing blue jeans standing in front of farms and other props to make the voters think that they are down to Earth people, instead of assholes who have never had their hands dirty.
At least I think I would have to believe that this one is sincere.
It used to make me ill when Tom Daschle was campaigning .... God I was happy to get rid of him ... and George McGovern the old socialist bastard himself.
It is interesting though, as I watched the video, then clicked to view comments back here, I was thinking, "I wonder how many people have already called him on the trigger?" Wow. Exactly what I expect from such a disciplined (mostly) group of folks.
Really though, johnnyreb is right, the libtards wet themselves at the sight of the rifle, if not earlier when he called them out for trying to keep people in the dark. I hope someone like him runs in Tennessee.
Dam´n Mike If he was running in Texas I´d sure as hell vote for him. Sweeping the rifle is not a good idea even though the hammer was down and his finger was outside the trigger guard, and the rifle probably was´t even loaded.
Can we please get past this trigger control nonsense? I am as big a safety advocate as the next guys but the "4 rules" are not biblically carved in stone! Just remember you sweep your own leg or crotch or ass cheek every time your draw. I am not suggesting that we ignor safty just get beyond the idea that if we call people out we are somehow better gunmen. Its an elitism. Its so bad its even festered into the airsoft kids. Just take a look at some of the photos posted by the Airsoft guys. If you are not standing there holding your airsoft gun with your index finger along the frame then you are a pansy!
Calling this guy out makes you sound like a bunch of assholes. Listen to his message and move the frak on. Its not a training video.
Funny stuff ... all you heroes talking about trigger discipline and the like. It figures considering all the side issues I see everyone courting these days as opposed to restoration to Constitutional governance.
It is the reason that I am slowly but surely losing faith that anyone will do a damn thing when it counts.
"Never mind the important stuff let's worry about whether they wiped their asses properly". The gun was nothing more than a prop to send a message!!!!! Realize it.... everyone there knew it was unloaded... and yes I know all about "unloaded" firearms.
Dakota, I like your thinking. The Marine should run for president. He's the only politician that knows what the hell he's doing. Semper Fi Mountain Rifleman
If this IDIOT doesn't have enough sense to handle a firearm, much less keep his "booger pickin'finger" off the trigger until ready to shoot..........what makes you think he has enough common sense to be elected to political office? Looks like yet another RINO progressive/"PX-Clothing Sales Ranger" collectivist to me.

I second what anonymous said @1:46
and if he really means business tell him to get a bigger rifle!:)
......love it!
Agreed. Trigger and muzzle discipline. Other than that, he sounds like a put the hell to the yeah kind of guy.

Trigger fail,
otherwise
HELL YEA!!
Actually, I'm sure he knows since he is a marine and a cop... BTW, did you see the hammer? It's safe.

If you Alabama boys don't want him, send him down here to Florida!!
Powerful ad!

Hell, he has my vote and I live in Utah! (And let me add a "me too" to the comments about his firearms discipline.)

Do ya'll really think the idiots on the left know anything about trigger discipline?
After they saw the rifle they probably pee'd themselves anyway.

The rifle is unimportant. The man's sentiments ARE.
WHERE THE HELL ARE THE REST OF THOSE WITH A PAIR??
Hell, I'd vote for him. Then I'd make him write the Four Rules a couple hundred times.
Oh, wait. I get to go vote for Rand Paul today!

*Sigh* Rule 3 violation: Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and the decision to shoot has been reached.
I like his straight-shootin' take-no-prisoners rhetoric, though.

Jeeez can't see the forest for the trees.
DUH! He is obviously stroking the trigger on purpose. It is a message to all of his political enemies.
More Powerful rifle? A .30-30 is nothing to sneeze at.
Too fudd for my tastes. I need to start seeing political adds with AR-15s in them.
