I suspect knowing what I do regarding national chain restaurants this may have been a decision of the management group. Hopefully he will have it changed soon.

I tried to read this article but the Examiner has so darn many popup ads that I decided to exit and skip the article. I guess that I need to start looking before I click on an article that comes from Examiner.
Toby Keith is a registered Democrat, I remember that from an interview on TV a while back. Just sayin'...
However, I will say that the restaurant has the right to have whatever policy it wants on its own private property. We also, though, have the right to not go there and spend our money if we so choose.
However, I will say that if something terrible should happen, and an armed gunman robs the restaurant or goes into there to hurt people, it will be a big (and unfortunate) "I told you so" to them if there was a patron inside who could have been carrying concealed and didn't because of their policy.
Several hours ago, ALL of the previous pro-gun posts were pulled off of Toby's new restaurant's Facebook page.
Ooops ! The angry country music public heat is simply too much.... QUICKLY....CAVE !
Presto!
NOW they're allowing them.
GOT YA.
Nice try, Toby. You're a second amendment hypocrite. We'll be dining elsewhere. Perhaps Cracker Barrel might be interested in sharing public relations tips with your management staff. THEY didn't get it, either.
Ummm, it is not his restaurant. Or even "his" restaurant. It is a restaurant chain that is using the theme from his song "I love this bar" for their latest venue, most likely under a license of some kind.
I have not seen the contract, but it probably doesn't leave him with much legal right to complain, most likely under financial penalty if he does. His agent is probably taking heat for that limitation, but he doesn't own the restaurant, or hire the manager, or choose the legal insurance or compliance policies to go with the laws of that state.

Yep - doesn't sit well with his typical fan base!
