Dogs truly are among man's best friends, and they're perfect recruits; being willing, totally trainable and uninterested in politics. I have seen trained war-dogs work in ways that beggar belief. They do need a dedicated trainer and operator, but can indeed multiply force.
For Anonymous at 6:56 PM: Just remember that dogs are not political, and if trained by the Bad Guys can and will be used by them against Constitutionalists.
And if YOU try to train a dog in "police tactics", rest assured you will be arrested if the Bad Guys find out...
"And if YOU try to train a dog in "police tactics", rest assured you will be arrested if the Bad Guys find out..."
Interesting term: "Bad guys". It reminds me that the term "narc" is used by the DEA and others to refer to drug users/traffickers and in tern is used by the self same drug users/traffickers to refer to the DEA.
Ultimately history is written by the victors and "Bad Guys" will be applied by them to the side that lost.
To note, a dog wouldn't need absolutely everything listed to be useful to a militia party. Being able to alert and track is reasonable for a lot of breeds. I'd imagine Mark's "police tactics" mostly involves biting techniques and such. Tracking, moving, alerting are too similar to sporting uses to attract a whole lot of attention, you mileage may vary.
I was planning on teaching my dog some of this general use stuff.
