Sipsey Street has confirmed through sources in Arizona and Washington DC the following allegation:
Within the past few days DEA in Phoenix was survielling what they believed to be a dope load. A traffic stop was executed. The haul was not drugs but instead 50 to 60 AK-47’s, wrapped in cellophane and intended for Mexico that were purchased during Fast and Furious. DEA has the guns and ATF is reportedly scrambling to take possession of the guns from DEA to avoid further bad publicity.
Am working on further details and when I have them, gentle readers, you will too. Of course Senator Grassley and Darrell Issa will be fully informed as well. This simply confirms what the whistleblowers have been saying all along -- no one knows how many thousands of Gunwalker Scandal weapons are still out there and how many thousands of Mexicans and Americans will die as a result of their use by criminal gangs.

UPDATE: With Sipsey Street and other media outlets sniffing around the story since yesterday, the Feds are scrambling to fit the seizure into a narrative that does not focus more attention on the Gunwalker Scandal. There is a hastily scheduled press conference in Tucson this morning at 11 a.m. where this is expected to be addressed to all the media. Another source tells Sipsey Street:
"We are being told off the record this is where the guns were discovered. HOWEVER, much like you we still can not confirm that DEA still has them and is not giving them back to ATF."

Mike I haven't noticed, but are any of the F&F guns been discovered heading North to gangs in major US city's rather than heading south for the border?
Nope the smell emanating from DC is pure unadulterated Marxism, mixed with political opportunism, politics as usual, extortion, manipulation, greed and the media gearing up to support Obama's re-election or run like hell if that doesn't work out.
That other odor? That would be the Constitution and Bill of Rights being used as toilet paper and being burnt as a part of socialist ritual cleansings.
Caught red handed.
Isn't that handy, the agency that is under investigation for wrongdoing has authority over said wrongdoing and will take the evidence over said wrongdoing.
Conflict of interest? Uhhh, I think soooo.
Those guns should immediately be labeled as evidence in an ongoing investigation, fully documented and stored by FBI. Is that adequate? Who can be trusted these days? What a conundrum...
These nice weapons should be issued to US citizens via CMP, along with an invitation/field manuals for "start your own Constitutional Militia kit".
Destroying useful material assets is stupid, like Cash 4 Clunkers made the price of decent used/cheap cars go way up. New rifle manufacturers have nothing to fear from unlimited AK-47's from CMP because the markets are so different.
I expect the ATF/DEA to have the furnaces fired up to destroy these evidence weapons ASAP (for the children). Sen. Schumer will be on hand to congratulate them for keeping American inner cities safer for dirtbag politicians.
Cheers.
Holy chit Batman! Do you see what keeps rearing its ugly head? : )
8:19 Anon:
The FBI is an agency of the Department of (in)Justice, answerable to Eric Holder. As is the BATFE.
I don't think you want to park any important evidence with the FBI, especially given their demonstrated competence at hiding unflattering evidence.
"Those guns should immediately be labeled as evidence in an ongoing investigation, fully documented and stored by FBI."
On a related note: Does anyone here think anyone outside of government will ever get to see/examine the "evidence" of illegally converted AR15's that were the justification for the Waco raid?
Nah.... Didn't think so.
The ATF will spin it to show how well their "Fast and Furious" project works. Remember, they were found on our side of the border heading to Mexico. They were intercepted before getting to Mexico. The gang was busted. Therefore F&F works!!!
I'm gonna be sick now folks!!!
This is a good sign. The DEA is breaking ranks with ATF.
It indicates that other agencies who were drawn into Fast and Furious know the game is up and wish to paint themselves as having been unwilling or reluctant participants in that operation.
Keep punching away, Mike. The conspiracy shows signs of breaking wide open. :^)
