The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens.
According to the announcement by "National Gun Day" on Facebook, you can still go buy your ammo any day this week, tho yesterday would have been preferred, as a paperwork "bubble" to get the bastids' attention.
You know something I'd like to see? I'd like to see the expression "Law-abiding Citizen" leave the lexicon of freedom-lovers. Abiding by the "law," whatever they say it is, just isn't the virtue it may once have been.
I agree, Joel. Who would want to be "law abiding" for the 20,000+ unconstitutional laws on the books concerning the "shall not be infringed" right to keep and bear arms. It's sort of like "taking the law into your own hands." Who would want to, hundreds of thousands of them unconstitutional.
I'll wait for the next gun show and buy it on the cheap from the bulk dealer/ lowest bidder. Sorry, but the economics of buying ammo for 4 dollars more a box from a local dealer is just not a good policy in my book, National Ammo Day or not.
2000 rounds of Federal Champion #510 .22lr in 4 cartons of 10 boxes of 50 each, $16.90 x4, no sales tax in Oregon. I greatly favor this packaging at the same price as loose-packed "bulk" .22lr with an alleged 25 or 50 rounds more per carton.

Buying $800 of Shotgun reloading components this week
Spider Monkey
I missed it too, Mike, but I would say that the 2K rounds of 7.62 and the 600+ of .40 I bought in the past month send a pretty strong message
Got mine yesterday (500), and took time to send a birthday greeting to Kim du Toit.
192 rounds .30 here.

I buy at once a month anyway. Does that count?
I've been saving cash for a while, so I could buy a bit more than the suggested 100 rounds--for this reason.

I had forgotten it was yesterday but picked up 100 rounds of 7.62X39 I was planning on getting anyway.

If you can't afford silver, you can afford ammo.
Cheers.

That is well stated. :^)

I spent the weekend expending ammo at an Appleseed, does that count?
Will celebrate by replacing it and maybe pickup some more besides later this week.
