Pilots and passengers rail at new airport patdowns.
"We spend my child's whole life telling him that only mom, dad and a doctor can touch you in your private area, and now we have to add TSA agent and that's just wrong," he told Reuters. "At some point the terrorists have won."

If the airlines lose more customers and are bankrupted, they will be nationalized.
Death by regulation, then assimilation. Then, on to the next target.
Glad to see people are speaking up and threatening to boycott the airlines. That's what it will take: economic pain for the CEOs and boards of directors of the industry that allows this abuse.
Commenter Intrepidpatriot says "I fly at least 6 times per month, and I whip out my pocket copy of the Constitution/Bill of Rights and tell them they will not violate the 4th Amendment on my watch."
Sounds great. And they let him on the plane anyway? All it takes is to remind them in print that they're being unAmerican? Let me slap my forehead and send a copy of the C/BoR to the local federal building, airport commission and airline offices, as they don't seem to have any. I find it hard to believe that if the Border Patrol won't let American motorists through an internal checkpoint in Arizona without a search or an accusation of "terrorist" for refusing...
Seriously, though, that WOULD change things if enough people would do it. And turn around and leave the TSA screening area and cash in their plane ticket and use it for gas money.
Don't know if this is real, but I'm inclined to think so based on their own behavior.

I am pleased by the comments left on the article.
Just keep the damn Muslims off airplanes. Problem solved.
Sibel Edmonds really nails it here:
Paying To Be Raped
Snip:
Every single day millions of us are being subjected to the shameful processes of being searched, screened and viewed naked, patted, groped, fondled, poked and stroked by badge-wearing strangers- police under a different name. Every single day. Millions of us, Americans. Being violated. Being degraded. You know exactly what I am talking about. I am taking about me, you, your mother, her brother, his brother’s wife and toddler son, their grandmothers. I am talking about the systematic degradation of our people. I am talking about being raped of our dignity, privacy, and decency. I am talking about a daily systematic rape we actually pay to be subjected to. I am talking about severe violations we elect people to bring upon us. Yes, I am talking about traveling, TSA police, and being reduced to naked and helpless subjects of government police practices.

An excellent explanation of why this is happening can be found here:
http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis.asp
Here is a small (but still fairly lengthy) excerpt from the latest issue of "Imprimis"
"It is a tragedy indeed that new generations taking office attribute failures in governance to insufficient power' and seek more of it. In the judiciary, this has seldom been better expressed than by Justice Thurgood Marshall, who said: "You do what you think is right and let the law catch uP." In the Congress, it presents itself in massive legislation, acts and codes thousands of pages long and so monstrously overcomplicated that no human being can read through them - much less understand them, much less apply them justly to a peoPle that increasingly feel like they are no longer being asked, but rather told. Our nation finds itsef in the position of a dog whose duty it is not to ask why -because the "why" is too elevated for his nature - but simply to obeY.
America is not a dog, and does not require a "because-I-said-so" jurisprudence; or legislators who knit laws of such insulting complexity that they are heavier than chains; or a president who acts like, speaks like, and is received as a king.
The president is not our teacher, our tutor, our guide or ruier. He does not command us; we command him. We serve neither him nor his vision. It is not his job or his prerogative to redefine custom, law, and beliefs; to appropriate industries; to seize the country, as it were, by the shoulders or by the throat so as to impose by force of theatrical charisma his justice upon 300 million others. It is neither his job nor his prerogative to shift the power of decision away from them, and to him and the acolytes of his choosing."
I urge you to read the full article. I find the monthly "Imprimis" articles to be always enlightening and thought-provoking. You all should consider signing up for the free subscription.

I have not flown commercial in years, due to both the TSA and the airlines. And now, this travesty is actually being allowed by passengers who will allow all of their freedoms to be violated for the privilege of being allowed to fly on an out-of-control airline.
I think it's beyond time to show the airlines and the TSA that there are alternate ways to travel, and maybe put a few airlines out of business.
These pervs and thugs will be dealt with.
I wish I could buy your book now, damn it!

"These pervs and thugs will be dealt with."
If by dealt with you mean given raises, more authority, and carte blanche to do as they please without any consequences, then yes, you are correct in your assessment.
It's just a matter of time before the porn scanners show up at courthouses, and other government buildings. Going for jury duty? Bend over and spread 'em. Gotta get a passport? You know the drill.
I'm debating with myself whether they show up in all public buildings and places like football stadiums, or if it's train and bus stations first.
To hell with TSA and the airlines. The airlines are not innocent in this either. They do have influence.
I was going to fly over Christmas to visit relatives and recreate. NOT NOW. I WILL NOT be gropped and manhandled as if I were entering a jail.
I'll still go, but I'll be driving. It will cost more in time and money, but my freedom and privacy are worth more.
I couldn't be more pissed about this. Not about me spending extra time and $$, but the fact that we really have become a police state. Heck, even some southern interstate routes now sport checkpoints manned by BP. And the fact that the terrorists have a defacto win by us losing our liberties. Nice job Herr Napolitano.
It's time to push back-HARD. They can't or wont't secure the borders, but they can grope me and my family at the airport. Truely upsidedown...

BINGO ! Nailed it.
.
All this because someone dropped the ball on the other side of the Atlantic and let the underwear guy fly when he should never have been on a plane. Oh, and don't forget that the packages of explosive were being shipped into the country from the other side, too.
We get to pay by losing our dignity and being molested by TSA because we want to fly out of an airport. BS!!!

Hi Mike,
"Night of the Body Scanners!!" Sounds like a really bad Spook "B" movie turn reality! It's bad enough that our privacy is now a thing of the past, airports today-tomorrow the world!, but every time someone steps into one of those things they get "zapped' with good old "radiation" and since these are not a one time thing for the flying publc or everywhere soon, the stuff will add up!! After a while you glow in the dark and wonder why you're dying of cancer!!

I wonder if there is any such thing as a paint or harmless media that could be used to write messages on our bodies that would show up in the scanners. That way, it's a freedom of speech issue also. Something like "Don't grope me Bro". Get creative. I'm certain the public would find it’s inner Shakespeare.
How about some metallic tape or foil to write out the message.. or maybe some metallic paint to mark it on a t-shirt.
