Folks,
I knew that something like this was coming. Jesse Trentadue -- and my old friend Roger Charles, LTC, USMC (Ret'd) -- have been doing the Lord's work on the OKC case, carrying on where our late friend J.D. Cash left off with his untimely death.
Actually, I've been holding off on my second letter to my bud Eric H. waiting on this. I guess it's time to talk to him about the subject, "No More Free OKC's, Either." Maybe tomorrow.

FBI Releases Tapes of Bombing Aftermath
Attorney Questions 'What's Missing' From Recordings
By TIM TALLEY,
AP
OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 27) - Long-secret security tapes showing the chaos immediately after the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building are blank in the minutes before the blast and appear to have been edited, an attorney who obtained the recordings said Sunday.
"The real story is what's missing," said Jesse Trentadue, a Salt Lake City attorney who obtained the recordings through the federal Freedom of Information Act as part of an unofficial inquiry he is conducting into the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.
Trentadue gave copies of the tapes to The Oklahoman newspaper, which posted them online and provided copies to The Associated Press.
The tapes turned over by the FBI came from security cameras various companies had mounted outside office buildings near the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. They are blank at points before 9:02 a.m., when a truck bomb carrying a 4,000 pound fertilizer-and-fuel-oil bomb detonated in front of the building, Trentadue said.
"Four cameras in four different locations going blank at basically the same time on the morning of April 19, 1995. There ain't no such thing as a coincidence," Trentadue said.
He said government officials claim the security cameras did not record the minutes before the bombing because "they had run out of tape" or "the tape was being replaced."
"The interesting thing is they spring back on after 9:02," he said. "The absence of footage from these crucial time intervals is evidence that there is something there that the FBI doesn't want anybody to see."
A spokesman for the FBI in Oklahoma City, Gary Johnson, declined to comment and referred inquiries about the tapes to FBI officials in Washington, who were not immediately available for comment Sunday.
The soundless recordings show people rushing from nearby buildings after the bomb went off. Some show people fleeing through corridors cluttered with debris. None show the actual explosion that ripped through the federal building.
FBI agents did not report finding any security tapes from the federal building itself.
The FBI in the past refused to release the security camera recordings, leading Trentadue and others to contend the government was hiding evidence that others were involved in the attack.
"It's taken a lawsuit and years to get the tapes," Trentadue said.
He received the latest batch of tapes over the summer in response to an April request for video from security cameras in 11 different locations. Nothing on the tapes was unexpected.
"The more important thing they show is what they don't show," Trentadue said. "These cameras would have shown the various roads and approaches to the Murrah Building."
Trentadue began looking into the bombing after his brother, Kenneth Trentadue, died at the Oklahoma City Federal Transfer Center in August 1995. Kenneth Trentadue was a convicted bank robber who was held at the federal prison after being picked up as a parole violator at his home in San Diego in June 1995.
He was never a bombing suspect, but Jesse Trentadue alleges guards mistook his brother for one and beat him to death during an interrogation. The official cause of Kenneth Trentadue's death is listed as suicide, but his body had 41 wounds and bruises that Jesse Trentadue believes could have come only from a beating.
A judge in 2001 awarded Kenneth Trentadue's family $1.1 million for extreme emotional distress in the government's handling of his death.
Jesse Trentadue said he has received about 30 security tapes, including some images that were used as evidence at bomber Timothy McVeigh's trial. McVeigh was convicted on federal murder and conspiracy charges and executed in 2001. Coconspirator Terry Nichols is serving life in prison on federal and state bombing convictions.
Trentadue said he is seeking more tapes along with a variety of bombing-related documents from the FBI and the CIA. An FOIA request by Trentadue for 26 CIA documents was rejected in June. A letter from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, which reviewed the documents, said their release "could cause grave damage to our national security."
Trentadue said he gave the latest set of tapes to The Oklahoman because of their historical value. The newspaper has agreed to provide copies to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.

A Marine Lieutenant Colonel is NEVER referred to as "LTC."
That is army lingo.
If you have to shorten a Marine 0-5's rank, it is Lt Col - or, simply, sir.
Its a shame that there are so many who have never served that are so ignorant about customs and courtesies.
Such as referring to all serving members as "troops."
That is usually the "honorific" given by a press flack or politician who could care less about the distinctions between services and uniforms - having never served and considering it the duty of the unwashed.
It is especially disturbing coming from a right wing source who really should know better.
Pay attention, folks. They served - you didn't. Give them proper respect.
Anonymous,
As serious as the subject matter is, the best you can do is criticize Mike for "gasp" using LTC to describe a Marine Officer. Lack of understanding of all the little details surrounding the Military and their customs in not ignorant, making a big deal of it is.
BTW...I served and I think all the regulars give the troops, soldiers, sailors and marines plenty of respect when due.
Dear 6:08 PM,
Thank you for enlightening us former snuffies regarding USMC protocol. As you choose to use the anonymous tag I am at a loss as to how to address you using the proper honorific. Please forgive me. However, be advised there are those of us who HAVE served (E-4 US Army combat Engineers) who do not give a rodent's derriere for your nit picking bullsh*t.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!
Ret. AF Gen. Partin, who at the time was considered the foremost explosives expert in the WORLD, upon examination of the site and the photos and other documents stated unequivocally that the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building could not possibly have happened as portrayed by law enforcement.
Remember the Unabomber? What was done when his whereabouts were discovered? Everything was tagged and bagged, including the cabin he was living in, and removed to Washington. There to be used as evidence.
What happened to the debris and evidence of the OKC bombing and the Waco murders? All of it was trucked out and buried in undisclosed locations with security measures taken to ensure that they are cannot be examined.
Does anybody really need more contradictions than those three to be certain evil was and is afoot?
I wouldn't assume any thinking man would.
Ummm...it would stand to reason that Mike might use 'LTC' instead of "Lt Col".
His son is Army, ergo, he'd be more familiar with Army abbreviations than with other branches.
Lighten up.
There's too many matters of actual import ongoing right now to get caught up in the nuances of service branch etiquette differences.
Especially on a civilian weblog.
I suppose it's _possible_ that the four cameras that would have shown the explosion were all being swapped out or ran out at the same time. But when I last worked security, we swapped tapes at midnight because that's when it least likely anything would be happening. And a swap or run-out would simply start late, or end early, but certainly would have cause a _gap_ in the recording as seems to be implied. I'm reminded of the 18 minute gap in trhe Nixon tapes.
So: Video conveniently missing, explosives expert says it can't happen as described, a seismic recording showing _two_ events (the second being the stronger) which the feds blow off as an "echo"... Right.
They served - you didn't. Give them proper respect.--Anon
Mike's service to his countrymen is beyond any polite man's ability to dispute.

Mike,
In your informed opinion what does Terry Nichols know that would shed light on the hidden facts, and will he ever speak? I imagine that being in federal custody means that if he becomes inconvient he may commit "suicide."
If you can you should point a camera at your local Fed Farm. That way when they Pelosi the building you can put a copy on you tube. And mail Mike a copy.

Sounds like the evidence locker full of whatever they had seized was set off by the bomb outside. They do have a bad rep for explosives handling. Just saying.
Casey,
Terry Nichols, part of one ARA support cell with Fortier and McVeigh, knows very little more. Pete Langan, aka Commander Pedro, of the Aryan Republican Army, now being held virtually incommunicado in federal prison (last time I checked in Virginia, I believe) knows everything. He is only alive because he has a "in the event of my death" affidavit hidden somewhere. Not even 60 Minutes could get past the fed curtain to see him. His fellow commander of the ARA, Richard Guthrie, ended up at the end of a dirty bedsheet in a jail in Covington, KY two days after telling an LA Times reporter that he could tell her "a lot of shit" about OKC.
Of the original conspirators, Langan and the fed provocateur Strassmeier could tell you the most, followed by Michael Brescia, and a couple of the lower level ARA bank robbers like Kevin McCarthy. Brescia was, I still believe, John Doe #2, who helped rent the second truck.
You'll never get Strassmeier to talk (he's in Germany) so Langan is the best bet, but it will never happen.
