Just got back from the Doc.

He trimmed some of the hamburger off both feet. I'm under strict orders now to stay off my feet and keep them elevated. Sorry for lack of posts today, guys. Will try to do better tomorrow. That's it. I'm beat.

Hey -
1. You did not hire on here to do daily posts; you ain't getting the big bucks for it. Stop the apologizing.
2.Seems that I recall someone who worked with feet and legs - diabetic, arthritic and other - for around 20 years, suggesting to you more than once that you look more serious in print when you sign articles "Mike", than if you screw around and end up signing them, "Stubs", "Ampy", or "The Gimp". Take care of the feet. Do what the doc says, no matter what.
Prayers keep going for you & family - please don't forget Lynn, in your own.

Mike, you've done more this past week than most have done the entire year. The same can be said of you on any given week as well.

Take a well-deserved break, then tell us what comes next.

Been reading your blog for some time now. You apparently have the ability to be somewhat stubborn at times. For this stuff, pay attention to the docs and do what they say. want to see you around for a long time

Mike, Please do what the Doc says. We would like to keep you around as long as possible. Next time I get to walk down the streets with you, I volunteer to pull your rickshaw!

Mike
To us you are a capital asset like an aircraft carrier, the General Patton, and boot camp rolled into one. You do for us what the Green Berets do for our allies. Very few of us none that I am aware of can bring your unique knowledge to the fight. For Example the Pet milk trick and counter propaganda methods.

Your advice and influence are invaluable. We need you for more than Absolved. You think of things some of us have overlooked. Your recent grenade launcher and bayonet posts for example. I have modified some my rifles to take the M9 bayonet. But modifying other knifes to be bayonets had not occurred to me. Even with the influence of some of my friends to guide me.

So take care of yourself! Your family needs you. We need you desperately.

With love Happy D

I had this brief vision of the scene in The Guns of Navaronne, where the SS officer drops a gun on the wounded officer with gangrene. Hamburger? Yeesh. Now I'll have a swell time finding something for lunch,ja? Let your GD legs heal, willya? If you can't get comfortable enough to write that !@!##$%%^! book you've been baiting us with,lo, these many months, try dictating(oh that word) it to someone. Hemingway used to do that when his gout was driving him nuts. Just don't cut your hair when it rains. Don't forget, Jim Bowie gave a good account of himself, in the end, from his bed at the Alamo. Just a little note from one of your admirers, trying to make you feel better. (Snort, chuckle, gag). III.

Mr. Mike,
From one Alabaminized Michiganer and a fellow diabetic with bead feet, take care of yourself. I think I speak for far too many, you are needed and listened too, won't do for you to be 6 feet under and wondering what happened to the revolution...
Yours, semper fi

Mike, check your email tomorrow: I have sent you an essay about Black Eared Lichen. Advice from my parents and martial arts instructor.

Called "Hei Mer'Er" (Black Lichen) it is a vegetable that contains potent anti-diabetic compounds that promote circulation and help rebuild the immune system. Cooking is easy, just put a handful of it into any dish you cook and let it simmer with the dish. I am going to send you two packs of it. Imported, from my native Jiangnang Province. I am going to slightly delay on sending the tea, because I am now trying to get a bigger box so I can ship everything in one box.

In the meantime, follow your Doctor's advice. Infection control is the most important thing here

Mike, raw honey is used at Shriner's to dress burns. It decreases the need for grafts, prevents infection, eases pain, and speeds healing. It's also used with diabetic ulcerations and wounds, intractable bedsores, and there is no known pathogen that's immune to its antibiotic, anti-viral, anti-parasitic properties. It works when everything else fails. Here's a link to just one article. You can Google for more. I have used it often with great success. I'm in the alternative health field.

How are you controlling your blood sugar, Mike?

I'm currently using Lantis, Novolog after meals, exercise ( half hour swimming each work day ), and a restrictive diet ( Nutrasystems D + cheating with zero carb foods ).

I've got my A1c down below 8 finally, as well as dumping 20 pounds so far ... that damned edema swelling scared me into dealing with this ...
