Comrade Lenin's Opus. Typical Friday night in Pennsylvania: A little football, a little celebration of murderous collectivist regimes.
Outrage as Pennsylvania high school marching band commemorates 1917 Russian Revolution at half time.
A Pennsylvania high school marching band has caused outrage by commemorating the Russian Revolution in a halftime performance - brandishing red flags, military uniforms, hammers and sickles.
Historians and parents of students at New Oxford High School have lambasted the choice of entertainment which remembers an event that gave way to Communism and the deaths of millions.
Even though the school's colours are red, white and blue, they have adopted the theme of 'St Petersburg: 1917' for their halftime shows, including one last Friday, Fox News reported.
Where's the 50 yard line tableaux for re-creating this?
'It was Glee meets the Russian Revolution,' a concerned parent told Fox. 'They had giant hammers and sickles and they were waving them around.
'There is no reason for Americans to celebrate the Russian revolution. I am sure the millions who died under Communism would not see the joy of celebrating the Russian revolution by a school 10 miles from Gettysburg.'
Paul Kengor, the executive director for the Center for Vision & Values at Pennsylvania's Grove City College, added that he originally thought the performance was a joke.
'This is surreal,' he said. 'The Bolshevik Revolution launched a global Communist revolution that from 1917 through the 1990s was responsible for the deaths of over a hundred million people.
'What the Russian revolution unleashed was a nightmare – a historical human catastrophe. This is something that should be condemned and not in any way commemorated or laughed at.'
Gerson Moreno-Riano, dean of Regent University’s College of Arts & Sciences, added that there is little to celebrate about one of the most violent periods in history that saw power snatched from the monarchy and seized by the revolutionaries.
'It’s full of violence, terror, destruction and in some weeks thousands of people were executed – some thrown with rocks around their necks into the river to drown,' he said.
'It’s quite frankly horrific that a high school would be celebrating that at a football game. To raise the emblems of the hammer and sickle – the emblems of so much violence, destruction and terror – is a lack of knowledge of history.'
Lack of knowledge or just another killer tomato embedded in the New Oxford High School music department, polluting young skulls full of mush with murderous collectivist propaganda?
And here's the kicker:
And while some were upset by the performance, the Evening Sun reported that the show didn't seem to offend the judges of the Cavalcade of Bands Association Inc. show at Manheim Township High School on Saturday, where the band won first place, according to the band's website.

ahhhh yes.. another "Great Moment in Stupidity" lesson from a parallel Universe full of the patently DON'T GET IT crowd. Ya know.. had I just arrived from another planet and saw this ... I'd probably come to the immediate conclusion our species are basically Sub Zero IQ level. One thing's for damn sure.. I don't know what these schools are teaching anymore.. but they must have thrown Common Sense 101 in the trash and replaced it with "How to look Stupid without even trying". I'd submit all these Department of Education zombies need to take a refresher in the "Ten Steps to De-Stupidification" course. Either that.. or look in the mirror and guess who that moron is looking back and fire him.
well, ok....on with the show...ummm..let's try Dolts for $2k.
Who the fuck is responsible for putting on this show???
About 10 miles in the opposite direction from Gettysburg lies East Berlin, PA
The 'concerned parent's' comment about Gettysburg was quite rich. There's a REASON the Commies idolized Abraham Lincoln.
Sorry if the truth upsets government indoctrination about St. Lincoln.
Even a Yankee newspaper wrote that Lincoln was "a perjurer, a usurper, a tyrant, a subverter of the Constitution, a destroyer of the liberties of his country, a reckless desperado, a heartless trifler . . ." and intoned that there is no place in hell "that is full enough of torment to expiate his iniquities."
Speaking of collectivist regimes, Nappy the Clown's DHS Panzer force.
They still have to get out of them.

So who exactly was responsible for coming up with this farce? It has a name... and a face, and it should be published.
But there's no conspiracy or anything like that....
Just happy coincidences.
The modern progressive movement is just a softer form of Communism. It's goals are the same -- alleged rule by the common man, albeit under the direction of the intellectuals -- control over all facets of society. "Social Justice" can only be achieved through carefully choreographed rules and regulations by the self anointed governing elites (you know, those animals among us who are more equal than the rest).
Progressives are just communist-lite...

Next week the band will play "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" while the black students in the band "tote that barge and lift that bale". All this taking place in the state that considers itself "the cradle of liberty".

Next week they are doing Pol Pot's rise to power. It will be precious.
My Mom's ancestor's got over here to America from the Volga River area of Russia, while she was still Russia. That was just before the 1917 revolution. From hearing my great uncles tell it when they were still alive, they got out in the nick of time. The family came from Germany originally, and were devoutly Christian. As peasant farmers, the communist agitators had them targeted as pillars of the coming struggle, but only if they removed their crosses and replaced them with red handkerchiefs.
This glorification is plain disgusting.
You're a fucking idiot.

What an intelligent comment! One cannot even tell if you are in favor of the band's actions or the various comments.
For the record, the actions of the students are evidence of complete ignorance or stupidity or of utter failure or venality on the part of the faculty or their parents.

While this subject isn't really on topic, I agree. So, apparently, did Marshall Tito. During WW2, when he led the Communist partisans in Yugoslavia against the Germans. He was once asked, "How will your partisans, with their old rifles, fight the Germans, with their new Panzers?" His reply is instructive, as well as demonstrating his mastery of tactics: "When the Germans get out of their new Panzers to take a piss, my partisans will shoot them with their old rifles." And so they did - Yugoslavia tied down nearly 20 divisions of the Wehrmacht for a good part of the war, possibly causing the Germans to lose some key battles on the Eastern Front.
There are 250-300 million guns in the U.S. in civilian hands - as well as literally millions trained in small unit tactics and in making explosives. No enemy of our liberties should underestimate their task, not unless they don't care for their lives or those of their families.

Speaking of the police state, check out this latest video of Trentadue giving a recent speech on OKC and PATCON. I haven't seen this on the blog yet, but this really needs to be seen by a lot more people as he does the best job yet of explaining the case.
We need to make this go viral, and you can help do it. Think of all the govt agents and leftist media types who read your blog every day alone? I can just picture the scared emails to Obama officials asking for clarification (and vice versa) when they see the video posted, ha ha!
Not a surprise at all to see Holder's name brought up in this video as suppressing what senator hatch was planning to do about the case, or that part of the PATCON plan from the 90s was to run guns out of Arizona.
I am sure that was just a coincidence, right?
As an old bandsman, I deplore and repudiate this. I remember playing the "afterburner arrangement" of the National Anthem one year when my high school band did the halftime show at the Orange Bowl game. We had a coupla Phantoms fly over and light burners right at "rockets' red glare." 1968, I think it was.143
