I believe that she is the same individual that featured in a puff piece by 60 Minutes many years ago on diploma mills and the civilian DoD workforce. If I remember correctly, she stated that she didn't know her degree was not from an accredited institution.
For the quote "Laura Callahan says she thought Hamilton was real, just one of many of legitimate schools that offer courses and degrees through the Internet.
"I wanted to finish college. It was a completely personal goal of mine," says Callahan. "All through my professional career, there was never a job requirement that required me to have an educational degree."
The former Homeland Security executive says she couldn't afford the time or the money for a traditional school, so she checked the Internet for an online university..."
I suspect that Herr Bushler's DHS appointment gave her Senior Executive Service (SES) status, which is why she spent a year on paid leave after they caught her and revoked her security clearance.
Once you're SES, you get to ride the federal gravy train for life, no matter how much fraud you had to engage in to get there.
Let's say she honestly believed her 'online degrees' were legitimate. How did she believe it was legitimate to buy them in 2000 and 2001, then claim on her resume the degrees were awarded in 1993,1995, and 2000? Apparently she thought it wasn't legitimate to get bachelor's, masters, and phd all within about a year, so she falsified the dates.

The Left doesn't have any moral, legal or ethical standards. Therefore they believe they can't be held to any.
Did Slick Willie's White House staff ever get their security clearances?
