The Scorpion and the Frog is a fable about a scorpion asking a frog to carry him across a river. The frog is afraid of being stung during the trip, but the scorpion argues that if it stung the frog, the frog would sink and the scorpion would drown. The frog agrees and begins carrying the scorpion, but midway across the river the scorpion does indeed sting the frog, dooming them both. When asked why, the scorpion points out that this is its nature. The fable is used to illustrate the position that the behaviour of some creatures is irrepressible, no matter how they are treated and no matter what the consequences.
Variations commonly include a farmer, youth, turtle, or fox in place of the frog, and a snake in place of the scorpion. The Farmer and the Viper is a specific variant that can be attributed to Aesop. There is also a variation in which the final words of the scorpion are "It is better we should both perish than that my enemy should live." -- Wikipedia.
I am 59 today. A milestone of sorts.
Today, well, yesterday now, I had a meeting with some folks and learned a very interesting piece of the Gunwalker puzzle. All of a sudden, everything clicked into place. Another milestone if it proves to be true.
Tonight, for the first time since the Gunwalker Scandal broke in December of last year, I slept with a borrowed semi-auto pistol under the pillow next to me.
I am not scared for my safety. My fate has always been in His hands.
I am scared that now -- even knowing what we know -- we still might fail.
And we cannot fail, for these people are evil beyond measure. They are, in a very real sense, scorpions who care not who they sting and who they kill.
All for evanescent power.
Say your prayers, folks, The Coalition of Willing Lilliputians is going to need every one of them in the coming days.
And Tuesday approaches.

Happy Birthday Mike and prayeres for your safety.
I assume you won't be keeping that little tidbit to yourself? Thank you for your work, and God bless you and yours.
I sleep with a pistol within reach not because I am scared, but because I can.
I think Tuesday is a watershed moment in that it will be proven that day if hearings will be endless dog and pony shows or if they will actually be seriously productive.
I most certainly am hoping for a belated birthday present for you, Mike, of something besides the equine or canine variety.
Here is to some huge new details getting out, breaking everything wide open and forcing the resignations to officially begin.....
Dutchman,
Congrats on reaching the advanced age of 59! I reached it slightly ahead of you, on the 14th, Bastille day.
I will be praying for you, for David, and for your sources. Stay safe,
Best wishes,
PolyKahr
Happy Birthday Mike! I hope you will have a perfect day in your pursuits.
Just want you to know that I pray daily for your safety. I also know the evil of the people that we struggle against. It is the classic struggle of good vs evil or right vs wrong ... the acceptable and the unacceptable.
Be careful, keep that pistol ready!
Happy Birthday, Mike.
I too was born on July 23rd.
P.S. As long as one man is still stand, FREEDOM is not beaten.
Happy Birthday! You are exactly 355 days younger than I am. So for 10 days every year we are the same numerical age. How cool is that!?
I fear you are like the British in New Orleans in 1814 - fighting a war already lost. But I wish you well. Perhaps it is still possible to save our once-proud republic.
Meanwhile, here's a To-do list:
Pray
Vote
Stockpile ammo and supplies
Happy Birthday!
And remember...100 heads...
Hippo Birdie Two Ewe.
Young whippersnapper.
Grandfather has a long grey beard, but the chair is not yet against the wall.
God bless you & the family.
I am 59 today.--Mike
Harumph! You are a mere stripling, my good fellow.
May it please God that you would live many more years and triumph over your all your enemies.
MALTHUS
I am praying that the Angels are camped around you. Be smart, be safe, and God's blessing on you.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Mike, and many many happy returns.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
As our friends from Cornfield County used to say....'Saaaaaaaaaaalute.'
Happy birthday Mike!
I do thank God for you.

Happy Birthday, Mike! Keep doing what you're doing--making the collectivists curse this day, as the day their nightmare was born.
Happy birthday, Sporto! And many happy returns. How's the pin? Still rushing around on hamburger? I only say that, because my own is so much fun. I been sleeping with a pistol for 20yrs. Eh, whatever. III.
Happy Birthday Mike. Keep fighting the good fight.
Separated by a day and a few years, Happy Birthday
Nobody in this dangerous political climate where evil doers are a protected species should EVER be more than a few inches away from armed protection. If what you were told has you suddenly concerned there are other things you should be doing as well. If you want me to email you on that just let me know.
Nothing happens without His permission. Happy Birthday, warrior. Think about it. You've already won.
Happy Birthday!
But beware the evil that lurks in Sauron's lair...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE! Hope there are many more to follow.

You "DO" have more than one Pistol (friends You CAN Count On?)for Security,I hope??????
Happy Birthday, Mike, and thanks for all you do in the cause of freedom. Stay well, stay free!
Happy Birthday.
I am wondering what nugget of data would trigger this kind of reaction.
I find I shudder at what it might be.
I know this comment will make you uncomfortable, but truth must be told: what you are doing on Gunwalker is heroic. You and Codrea and the others may well turn the tide for freedom in this Republic. I hope and pray that God grants you peace and happiness to you and yours on your birthday. Thanks for all you do, Mike.
Happy Birthday Mike,
and God bless you and yours.

Happy Birthday.
Is THIS really happening in Arkansas??
Is it time yet, Claire?
Happy Birthday young feller!
(I got 6 months on ya, so I get to say that)
"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..."
Many Happy Returns of the Day!
We are all in His hands.
Mine was last week, but you got 2 years on me! Happy Birthday and thanks for all the great work you've done.
You're walkin' the Arizona Territory, be careful!
Happy birthday, sir. God bless you.
Mike, I'm sure you've heard the old joke about the difference between investment and commitment:
Take a plate of ham and eggs.
The chicken? She's invested
The pig, now, he's committed
I'd never call you a pig, but your commitment to Constitutional liberty is very much on a par with the pig's commitment to that breakfast, while the vast majority of us--myself included--probably have some serious work to do to match the hen's level of investment.
Thank you, sir.
"May it please God that you would live many more years and triumph over your all your enemies." I share that wish, and hope you all won't mind if I send it along the way.
"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..." for I am the meanest SOB in the valley. A friend of mine had a jacket he brought back from VN with that on it. Wear it in good health, man!
Happy birthday Mike!
Keep fighting, and watch your back.
Happy Birthday Mike!
I hope to someday read a very thick book covering the totality of the depths of corruption of the gunwalker scandal.
After Absolved of course.
Happy Birthday Mike,
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
