More on Boomershoot

As referenced in the post "Who will speak for you?", I requested a little more information about this awesome event for the uninitiated.  Mr. Joe Huffman was so kind as to provide the following links:

Once I get some more time, I will have to see how my M1A scout can match up.  400 yards is not too much to ask, but then you never know until you try.

I don't think you need to worry about the M1A, even if it's only a scout....
I used to shoot service rifle matches with my M1A, all the way out to 1000 yards.
400 should be a cake walk.

I'm pretty sure it will. I have it in an Sage EBR Mod 1 stock with a Leupold Rifleman Scope. If I can't hit it with that, I need to seriously re-evaluate my priorities in life.

Okay, that looks like fun. I've got a .243 that should be able to handle that with ease. Okay, the rifle can, me, well, that remains to be seen.

I have been to Boomershoot several times and it is a blast...pun intended.
The closest targets are at about 360 yards and then out to 700 yards or so.
Even the close range ones are hard to hit as they are not very big....smaller than they look in the pictures. People shoot everything from average hunting rifles to very high dollar customs and 50BMGs. My choice is a 6.5x308AI,1" barrel no taper that was built for prairie dogs.
