Kurt Schlichter: "Anti-Gun Rights Fascists Fail Again."
Then Hollywood moguls weighed in with their insights from behind their phalanxes of armed guards. A producer of Modern Family began demanding mass gun confiscation, not answering the begged question of whether the soft, sheltered affluent liberals his cute show depicts plan to strap on their Kevlar vests and go kick down the doors of gun owners who might not share Hollywood’s willingness to ignore the Second Amendment. . .
Obama has called his inability to massively infringe upon the constitutional rights of the American people his greatest disappointment as president, and it no doubt is. The idea that hundreds of millions of Americans are able to protect themselves without government assistance, like proud, independent citizens, must gnaw at him. But even more distressing to Obama and his coterie of liberal fascists is the knowledge that the presence of 300 million guns out there means that the American people retain their own absolute veto power.
Sure, liberals never met a civil right that actually exists in the Constitution that they didn’t want to violate, but they have a special hatred for the Second Amendment. That our citizenry is armed constrains the progressives in a way that their acknowledged (or, at least, not denied) heroes like Castro and Chavez, and their unacknowledged role models like Hitler and Mussolini, were not constrained. Without a liberal government monopoly on force, this country can only tilt so far to the left before a critical mass of Americans says, “Nah, I don’t think so,” and the progressives have to convince some group of suckers to don the uniforms that our Constitution-loving military would largely abandon and go risk dying to force faculty-lounge fantasies upon a rebellious and deadly citizenry. . .
And, most decisively, the left has lost practically – Americans have decided that we’re going to keep our guns because the alternative is to submit completely to the likes of Obama and his fascist friends. If they want to live the Aussie dream of confiscating our guns they’ll have to talk millions of Democrat constituents into training and arming-up to do it, and that’s not happening. Not only would it be super dangerous, but it seems like hard work. Liberals are putting gun control on the back burner for now, but they have not forgotten it. Their inability to disarm the American people and render them servile subjects unable to protect themselves and their rights remains liberalism’s most profound disappointment. They will try again. Which is why we Americans must remain ever locked and loaded.

That was well said. If anyone wants to get the gist of liberals/leftists/socialists/blah, blah.. and the energy their willing to expend on pushing an agenda, just listen to the old Phil Ochs song " Outside of a Small Circle of Friends". It's sort of a "we'll talk a lot but let someone else get their hands dirty" mentality..
It is a great article. We are winning, and we should act like it. I wrote a response to Mr. Schlichter that has my list of what I think we should push for next. Check it out, but I'll give you the first 3 here: 1) repeal all "sporting purpose" language, 2) repeal ban on handgun purchases across state lines, 2nd 3) repeal ban on new machine gun registrations for "civilians" (and repeal that stupid, non-Constitutional language, too).

It is hard to understand a mind and mindset that on the one hand is horrified by the thought of busting down doors to confiscate people in order to deport them because they aren't even supposed to be here in the first place while on the other hand salivates with desire at the thought of doing violence upon innocent people who have done nothing beyond exercise their enumerated rights.
It is either traitorous behavior done intentionally or it is a serious mental illness. Blatant hypocrisy doesn't quite cover it.
Kurt Schlichter is great. Each of his articles makes you laugh out loud in between the parts of his stories that make you weep for your country.
Ditto. Very well said.

“We are told: ‘It is a universal truth, that he that would excite a rebellion, is at heart as great a tyrant as ever wielded the iron rod of oppression.’ Be it so. We are not exciting a rebellion. Opposition, nay, open, avowed resistance by arms, against usurpation and lawless violence, is not rebellion by the law of God or the land. Resistance to lawful authority makes rebellion. … Remember the frank Veteran acknowledges, that “the word rebel is a convertible term.” – Novanglus Essays, No. V, 1774 – 1775; The Works of John Adams, Second President of the United States: with a Life of the Author, Notes and Illustrations, by his Grandson Charles Francis Adams, Volume 4; (Boston: Little, Brown and Co., 1856), 10 volumes. - John Adams

Hi Mike,
Very Well Said!!!!!
A Big "10-4" on being "Locked and Loaded!!!"
Got Gunz.......OUTLAW!!!,
III%,
skybill-out
I am beginning to wonder if these idiots even have a clue as to what would happen if the government tried the total confiscation scheme? They can't possibly, because if they did, they would just shut up and not talk about it so dreamily. Participation in a voluntary registration and turn in would be as small as it is here in Kommiecticut or NY. That means a majority of Patriot gun owners across the country still armed and ready for what may come. How many of them have even heard of the III Percent Catechism, never mind follow it? Oh, it would be bloody for sure, with intolerable high body counts on both sides. If the petulant child is still in office, he would not back down, but try to ramp it up. I seriously doubt much of the military would be up for gunning down their fellow citizens to enforce confiscation, and the police do not have the numbers. I do, however, believe that most of the "heavy lifting" of such an operation would fall to the alphabet soup of armed government agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS, EPA, HHS, DEA, USPS, etc.) that would be more than willing to "just follow orders."
the biggest problem, as I se it anyway,…
is the 'they' have total CONTROL of the 'news media' and are free to brainwash sheeple 24/7/365….
Where as our side' has to fight tooth and nail for every piece of rebuttal we can muster, which truth to tell isn't usually all that great due to the appalling APATHY of millions of gun owners in the USA. (witness the 2-3 million gun owners that stayed home last November in NY State alone …when 600,000 more of them would have been enough to stuff Andrew Cuomo the fekking tyrant down a toilet…)
That day will come however….
Ultimately, the most significant barrier to the successful imposition of martial law in the U.S. isn't the wide availability of existing firearms already in the hands of free citizens, or even the technical capacity of said citizens to use the tools of productive industry to make more such arms (and ammo) even if somehow gradual advances in registration allows the piecemeal confiscation of all legally manufactured firearms.
The most significant difficulty is that the forces on which the collectivists would be relying to enforce their will are not and never will be true believers in Marxism. A significant fraction of them (particularly in the enlisted military) are seriously committed to freedom. The balance of the remainder are mercenaries or simple crooks, willing to engage in violence as long as it pays well compared to the risks.
If America had in place established mechanisms for the direct mass confiscation of tangible wealth, this would not be an insuperable difficulty. But the American system of mass wealth confiscation relies almost entirely on the manipulation of an unbacked fiat currency. And the effects of any attempt at mass imposition of martial law have non-trivial impacts on the perceived value of that currency, both domestically and internationally. This has been tested repeatedly with local incidents, and the evidence is conclusive. The Federal government (and the Fed) have no power to avert the negative impacts of martial law on the value of the dollar. A mass imposition of martial law across the U.S. would, more or less quickly, make the dollar worthless, and if the dollar becomes worthless, the Feds have no way to pay the mercenaries still willing to serve them without resorting to direct confiscation of tangible assets.
When your problem is figuring out how to bust down doors to confiscate firearms, you have a difficult but basically limited problem. When you've got to bust down doors to confiscate anything and everything that has direct utility for human existence, your problem just became unlimited.
Other totalitarian countries have avoided this trap by having adequate mechanisms for direct wealth confiscation in place and using a currency that wasn't liable to collapse if they resorted to imposing martial law. The Feds have neither, and no plan for acquiring either.
