Been re-reading "Exodus" and so must disagree. When the "will to fight back" depends on convincing all members of a targeted group that they are indeed facing extermination, our human nature betrays us. The very idea, then and now, is "unbelievable." Even as late in the pogroms as the official founding of the death camps, still, the Jews were unable to agree among themselves about what to do.
