U.S. Army Set to Ban Tattoos Below the Elbow or Knees

Current soldiers may be grandfathered in, but all soldiers will still be barred from having any tattoos that are racist, sexist, or extremist. Once the rules are implemented, soldiers will sit down with their unit leaders and "self identify" each tattoo. Soldiers will be required to pay for the removal of any tattoo that violates the policy, [Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond Chandler] said.
"Extremist"? Isn't that what they call Christians these days?

But what about queer tattoos that show diversity? Those should be allowed under Obama's military on the forehead.

oh I say, anything as controversial as Jesus or a Confederate Battle Flag, or a Gadsden or a 3% mark would need to go.....

Jesus causes you to choose, college professors have declared southern history and it's banner to be racist, and the Gadsden and the III% are a threat to the existing political order...

Can't have it...

Government is quite literally claiming ownership over a persons SKIN.

WHEN ARE THE FUCKING IDIOTS THAT DWELL THE STREETS OF THIS ONCE LIBERTY RESPECTING COUNTRY GOING TO WAKE THE FUCK UP?

The NFL is on the look out for. "Gang " tats and. "Undesirable" tats -due to HDTV no doubt. Looks like it will be demanding players have th removed as well.

I'd like to start a pool - what's it going to be? What is the relatively tiny thing that literally sets this nation afire? What little rule or command is going to issue that's lights off the coming revolution? Whatever it is I would think that losing control over your own skin would put us close to it.

But then Illinois did recently try to make everyone organ donors unless they specifically "opted out" of that. " program". Ahem - programming!
C'mon AMERICANS - WAKE UP. STAND UP. STEP UP and tell the nanny staters to STFU!

Like many of you, I've seen couples walking down the streets looking like an inner city wall of graffiti. I don't like it, but that's just the way things are. With China's aggressive, dangerous expansionism in the south China sea, the Army should concern itself with recruitment, as opposed to tattoos. That English soldier/sniper that set a world record for a long distance shot, was covered with tattoos. So, does any of this really matter, except on the parade ground, in summer uniform dress?

Awesome, a new way to get out of the draft! :D Failing that, I can throw up some gang signs, or join that biker club the ex-girlfriend is always bugging me about checking out. ;)

In my opinion, anyone who gets a tattoo anywhere on the body is an absolute fool! When I see a tattoo it makes me question the intelligence of the person.

I do agree that your skin is yours, but my opinions, above, still stand.

Well...if your goal is to destroy the military...

Seems perfectly reasonable.

I don't see what the big deal is. The military has always had physical appearance standards.

Reminds me of the guy in the 1960s that had "F*** ARMY" tattooed on the outside of his right little finger, which would have been visible when saluting. The draft induction folks had a little laugh, then assigned him to the Navy.
