Thank You Dutchman6. We were a little short on funds this year, so we spent what we had on the kids and the adults just gave cards to each other. But we ate good and the smiles on the little ones faces was well worth it.
Kwanzaa? That's a Hallmark Holiday if there ever was one.
Look up Ron Karenga, learn about the history of Kwanzaa. None of us has clean hands, but his actions back about forty years were way beyond what most of us will think acceptable.
I try to wise up African-American friends and neighbors without saying much. I don't want them to think I want to poison the well so to speak, so I suggest that they look up the history of the founder and the founding of the Kwanzaa celebration and be prepared to learn a lot. I don't know that any have gotten back to me about it, so I don't know whether any of them ever looked it up. If they did, they haven't wanted to discuss it with me.
Has Pastor Kenn weighed in on Kwanzaa? I'd like to see what he's got to say about it.
Have a great day, and may the rest of the Christmas season be peaceful and joyful for you and yours.
Av= porpeye. Perhaps Flipper's ocular organ? Perhaps not. I'm on my first cup of instant coffee, so I'll likely get better later in the day.
