Sheriffs like this one need to hear from us. They need to know the people thank them for honoring their oaths and doing their jobs. Now that there is a half dozen or so of these cases online, they should be posted on a dedicated website so we can send our own sheriffs a link to it. Maybe they will be inspired by the dedication and diligence of their peers and it will give them a heads up on these federal shenanigans. Let them see what doing their duty really means. They should also be reminded that there is Constitutionally lawful backup available if the feds have a problem with that.
I'm thinking that if someone offered me a nice cold glass of raw milk, I would likely decline. Being raised in a very protected environment, I'm not sure my system could handle the unpasteurized bugs.
I wouldn't call the cops if they then took a sip themselves. They're entitled to take whatever risks they deem 'acceptable'.
When this story came out a couple of weeks ago, I sent them an atta boy...
"Dear Sheriff Rogers:
I left a message to you on the Elkhart County Sheriff Facebook page, but I wanted to make sure you know that we citizens of this state appreciate you for keeping your oath and protecting the rights of the Amish dairy farmer from the marauding Feds.
You are truly a "peace officer" and a credit to your profession.
This nation would do well to have more men and women like you serving us and remembering the solemn oath to which they are sworn.
rexxhead, I truly feel sorry for people like you. Living in such a clean, sanitized environment will surely spell death for you soon anyway. Do you have gallons of hand sanitizer stashed away? Air freshener too? Myself and millions of other people grew up on 'real' milk. It's also another way for your body to build an immune system, something you obviously don't have. Lotsa luck WTSHTF!!!
@rexxhead -- I'm with you. They can have all they want, I've got no problem with that. But, I *have* spent quite a few hours inside of milking parlors. I'm OK with drinking milk from cows I've met -- but I'll wait till it's gone through the pasteurizer, thankyouverymuch.
