Conflation Orgy Begins: Mass Shooting in Arizona Leads Mother Jones to Libel Me.

This is the first time I've been home today, although I was informed by cell phone of the multiple homicide in Arizona. It doesn't take long to be libeled by the left-collectivist press, though. A link sent to me by several readers goes to Mother Jones, where I've already been libeled by Jim Ridgeway.

Mike Vanderboegh, a former 1990s militia leader from Alabama, enouraged (sic) readers of his blog to throw bricks through the doors of members of Congress who had supported President Obama's health care bill last spring. One of the doors broken was that of Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot at a rally in a Tuscon supermarket earlier today.

That's a damn lie. I called on people to break local Democrat Party HQ windows. I specifically did not ask people to break federal windows because that is a federal crime. In point of fact, I called on folks to break windows because I was fearful of incidents of real violence such as this.

Now I don't know this murderer's story. He is said by the radio to be a 22-year old Afghan war vet. Whatever his grievance nothing justifies this mass killing, I don't care who the target is. My prayers go out to his victims and their families.

Even so, the collectivist conflation machine begins again.

LATER UPDATE: A reporter friend of mine says in an email, "Fox is reporting that his favorite book is Mein Kampf." Hardly surprising. If so, Ridgeway knows he's not one of mine for he detailed the militia's campaigns against the neoNazis in the 90s in both the Village Voice and George Magazine. If this guy is a neoNazi then it will make the conflation campaign slightly more difficult but hardly impossible for the fact-challenged media.

Yet later: No "Afghan war vet" (apparently he CLAIMED to be one), the Army issued a statement saying he was rejected for enlistment. Obviously a mental case, said to be more liberal than anything by some of his acquaintances and obsessed with the 2012 Mayan calendar crap. But according to the Pima County sheriff this is all because of political "hate and vitriol." "It may be free speech, but it's not without consequence."

See, it is STILL my fault.

Predicted yesterday that ATF would need to have something massive happen in order to take the heat off of them. Now we have this. Coincidence? Maybe, or maybe not.

If you read the shooters youtube channel (his name is classitup10) and his myspace (fallenasleep) you will see he shaping up to be a leftist of sorts. Free republic has a thread about him going, he is not even close to a conservative.

Anyone saying he was politically motivated by anything from the RTC movement is a liar.

The kid's YouTube videos demonstrate he's messed up in the head. No discernible political views - jsut incoherence.

I have no doubt this will be used as a pretext to ... ?

Looks like we're looking at our age's own USS Maine or Reichstag fire.

Fine. Then let's get it over with now.

He was a leftie/liberal according to this link:

His favorite books not only included Mein Kampf, but also the Communist Manifesto.

If you view his YouTube videos he is clearly delusional. His videos are nonsense and unfollowable. He clearly was suffering from schizophrenia or something like that.

Sad day. Not good for our cause in the least. I'll be praying for all involved.

Shooter was a Lib.
young woman in Arizona, Catie Parker, claimed on her Twitter feed that she went to high school and college with the gunman, and was in a band with him. She described his politics in the past as "left wing, quite liberal, & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy." She also described him as having a lot of friends "until he got alcohol poisoning in '06" and dropped out of school. "Mainly loner very philosophical."

Since learning of the Arizona shooting, I’ve been checking in on what appear to be mostly liberal progressive sympathizer sites.

These people have been so busy wanting to slash throats and call names, they appear unconcerned that Ms Gifford’s prognosis seems to be fairly good and that apparently some members of her staff, along with a child and a federal judge, may have been killed.

These people have already decided that a conservative right winger will be identified as the shooter and that Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, Fox News, and of course ALL Tea Party members are to blame. Didn’t see your name mentioned in any of the sites I was scanning, but will be surprised if you aren’t included in the people to blame lists.

My wife called me around 1400 today to ask me if I had heard about the AZ shooting. I got to work and started running down references. Fairly soon I found a link to his "manifesto".

Folks, the boy's thought processes are SERIOUSLY broken. Not bent, BROKEN! I mean his writing makes Ted Kazinsky's screed look downright rational! The last time I read anything half so disjointed was when I worked at the San Antonio State Hospital back in '73 (back before the bleeding hearts on the left turned our streets into the world's largest open-air insane asylum). We had a patient who was diagnosed as Paranoid Schizophrenic. To keep peace on the ward I read some of his writing. Sounded a lot like the AZ shooter's "manifesto".

Working with that guy taught me one long-lasting lesson. Paranoid Schiz are DANGEROUS! They are always type-A personalities and damned aggressive to boot. Part of their delusion is that they are super intelligent - even though they manifestly are not. The dangerous thing about a Paranoid-schiz is that if you challenge their delusion IN ANY WAY they will attack you without notice and without any provocation.

I am not a shrink nor am I a psychologist. I did double-major in psychology and work the better part of a year in an insane asylum. That boy who did all that shooting in Tucson is seriously, SERIOUSLY crazy.

His YouTube ramblings are captured on The Blaze. He appears to be clinically mentally ill, repeating himself, making up languages and posing pseudointellectual, pseudophilosophical syllogisms. A self-obsessed narcissistic leftist, offended when a military recruiter presented him with a Bible. Offended by "In God We Trust" on our coinage. Doesn't sound like a Threeper at all. He sounds just smart enough to think martyring one of his own would blow back on the RTC/BoR movement: his legacy.

Bit of Research shows it likely wasn't even close to a threeper sympathizer:

Guns (voting record from http://giffords.house.gov/legis/bipartisanship.shtml )

Congresswoman Giffords signed Amicus Briefs submitted to the Supreme Court in support of rights granted under the Constitution’s Second Amendment regarding the DC and City of Chicago gun bans.

Congresswoman Giffords is a cosponsor of the Veterans Heritage Firearms Act which allows a 90-day amnesty period during which veterans and their family members can register in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record any firearm acquired before October 31, 1968.

She was a cosponsor of the Second Amendment Enforcement Act in the 110th Congress. It would restore Second Amendment rights in the District of Columbia by correcting DC’s law in order to restore the fundamental rights of its citizens under the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and thereby enhance public safety.

Congresswoman Giffords spearheaded a letter to Southwest Regional Chief of U.S. Forest Service Gail Kimball on May 12, 2008 expressing concern of decreasing opportunity for recreational shooting on National Forest Service land. It was signed by Congressman Trent Franks and Harry Mitchell.

Aren't they taking gang members with violent records, though? They must have ... seen something in him. If he talked like he writes...

He means "conscious" dreaming, not "conscience." For something that "informs his political information," you'd think he'd at least get THAT right. A legend in his own mind.

Despite his rejection from the military enlistment, ponder the following - Question 11f from USDOJ/BATFE Form 4473, used when purchasing a handgun from a FFL:
"Have you ever been adjudicated mentally defective (which includes a court, board, commission or other lawful authority that you are a danger to yourself or others or are incompetent to manage your own affairs) OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?"
We can be sure that if he was able to answer "No" to that question that real soon now he will have to answer "Yes"..... if he is ever allowed to roam freely again.
Can anyone relate to John Hinckley's situation?

Wonder what his thoughts were about Obama encouraging his messianic followers to "bring a gun to a knife fight?"

Zimbio.com: "In February 2009, [Judge John] Roll received hundreds of threats after he allowed a lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants against a rancher to go forward. "They cursed him out, threatened to kill his family, said they'd come and take care of him. They really wanted him dead," a law enforcement official told The Washington Post in May 2009."

Anything to do with that really weird video that's one of Loughner's favorites, a hooded terrorist Death figure shredding the American flag in the desert?
Maybe Giffords wasn't the main target.

Mike,

Do any of the Threeper's have a law degree? This smearing has become routine, so any claim that "oh, we just made a mistake" is no longer faintly credible.

Think of it as an expansion of the Clinton ROE: sue them before shooting. Plus the unintended Lenin reference: buying the ammo that'll be used against them.

Two for the price of one. They get rid of a Dem who wasn't toeing the party line, and they get to start in on more gun control

The man is a leftist psychopath. He has nothing to do with right-wing gun worship, thought or activities. He is a self-described conscious dreamer, with bones to pick with anyone involved with education or the "abuse of grammar".

He does not now, or apparently ever, have a full deck.

STILL, his use of a Glock will prove to be all that is needed to make this into the poster crime for anti-gun posturing and eventual legislation. NEVER expect the left to play fair. ALWAYS expect them to work tragedy into a political bogey-man for public consumption.

The kid is a loon, but the leftist spinners in political offices around the country will make him out to be from the far right.... cuz everyone KNOWS that gun crime is always a RIGHT crime.

Don't let anyone try to tell you, or people near you, that this is anything other than a leftist nut job gone violent.

I agree 100%. In the 60's the CIA experimented heavily with mind control. While debunked as, well, bunk, I think their efforts were highly successful. Couple that with the extremely advanced technology of today and you have a recipe for a disaster such as this.

I am in no way a conspiracy theorist (well maybe I can't say that now, ha ha) but I think the MK Ultra program was a great success and continues today.

Could there be another (rational) explanation??
