Not really telling us anything we didn't already know about state-run media, but interesting nonetheless.

“You have done a good job in your reporting of the USSR.” -- Joseph Stalin to Walter Duranty, reporter for the New York Times.

The descendants of Walter Duranty let their hair down on JournoList. Jonathan Strong has a story at The Daily Caller on the JournoList Email Scandal entitled "Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright."

Here's a taste of the internal thought processes of the Walter Duranty Press Collective.

Part of me doesn’t like this shit (defending the Reverend Jeremiah Wright) either. But what I like less is being governed by racists and warmongers and criminals . . .

I do not endorse a Popular Front, nor do I think you need to. It’s not necessary to jump to Wright-qua-Wright’s defense. What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. In other words, find a rightwinger’s [sic] and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear. Obviously I mean this rhetorically.

And I think this threads the needle. If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists. Ask: why do they have such a deep-seated problem with a black politician who unites the country? What lurks behind those problems? This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction. -- Spencer Ackerman, Washington Independent, in emails on JournoList, a private discussion group for "journalists."

"Walter Duranty is the greatest liar I have met in journalism.” -- Malcolm Muggeridge.

Walter Duranty was Joe Stalin's favorite New York Times reporter. Duranty tried his damnedest to ignore the Great Famine that Stalin had forced upon his people in order to get rid of "undesirables." Worse, he attacked other journalists who were honestly reporting on the tragedy.

We always knew that the state-run media in this country slanted, lied and did everything they could to achieve the result their political masters wished. Reading it in their own words -- so boldly and so brazenly collectivist -- is illuminating. It makes you think that Bill Clinton was onto something when he declared the press and intelligentsia of his Serbian enemies were legitimate targets of war.

Well, as Billy Beck said, "All politics in this country is now dress rehearsal for civil war." Obviously, according to JournoList, all journalism is now dress rehearsal for civil war as well. I wonder when the present-day Durantys are going to figure out that we've figured out that Acton was right when he said "The theorist is worst."

Let me only point out that it was theory that informed my judgment of contemporary American politics.

Pragmatism is for losers, mate: it's a big part of how we got to where we are. Anyone who hates on theory, per se, is useless in this fight.

Wonderful picture of a traitor with the hangmans noose still around his traitorous neck. I hope that they buried him that way.

There is much more work to do in this same area.

I see the Brownshirts are about to up the ante in the kulturkampf. This will make for an interesting confrontation because it will not be nearly as easy to intimidate a resolute, well-armed man as it is to kill defenseless babies.

Journalists choose the profession because they have some command of the language and because they want to Change The World... which they know very little about that is actually so. The best ones have held one or more real jobs first.
As for the Right "going after" the Left... do they really have to? The socialists are never far away, often right in your face.
Anyway, that comment says it all about the concept of media impartiality. 86% of journalists describe themselves as Democrat -- oh, and "moderate," too. You know, like Bill "When people abuse a right you have to limit it" Clinton.

That is OK I was planning on killing things press related once they cut my leash anyway.

Please realize that this is far bigger than these named persons. This is absolute proof of conspiracy but not all the conspirator are named or known.

Pictures, addresses, cars, restaurants, vacation spots, biographical information etc.

They are quoted regarding their wish to engender fear. They do not fear. They do not fear because they are anonymous. They do not fear because there is no accountability for them. The government, yawns at their activities and has no interest in them. WHY?

If they truly believe this, they are going through life with blinders on, but we knew they were anyway. That person in the oral office and his minions have done more to divide this nation than anything that I can think of.

"You gonna be ruled by the BLACK MAN now cracker!" Also don't forget about 'killin'crackers and they babies"!

they think this will make us live in fear.

they don't understand us at all, do they?

funny, I had noticed that only the collectivists acted so. Isn't this called projection?

To this I point out...

GALATIANS 6: 7 (KJV)

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Everything that you do has repercussions. It comes back to you one way or another.

You cannot escape the consequences of your actions. What you do comes back to you.

You will see the long-term effects of your actions.

What goes around comes around.

Your actions all have consequences. Don't ever be fooled into thinking that your actions don't have consequences.

Don't think you can get away with bad choices even if you don't seem to get caught.

Remember verse seven tells us that God cannot be mocked. He sees it all.

You reap what you sow.

They don't have to get everyone to live in fear, they need only get enough people to live in fear. So far, I'd say that they're succeeding.

Those who think "Fox News" is "Conservative" are as delusional as the rest of The Enemy.

For the record, the only study of which I am aware, which carefully tabulated the leanings of every major network found that Fox was *EXACTLY* neutral.

Every other network was "left-leaning" by a margin of 3:1 or more.

Now...

Pay attention to Fox NEWS. CLOSE attention. Yes, you'll find that they *SEEM* to lean "right" a bit - on the surface - but in reality they're just repeating The Party's line just like everyone else.

The truth is that Fox is the only one which makes any effort to *SEEM* neutral - which makes them seem "right-wing" by comparison to all the other extreme-"left"-wing outlets.

*NONE* of them are to be trusted. *ALL* of them are corrupted by necessity -- "playing the game" is the only way they can get the access to the powerful necessary to do their jobs. Fail to "play along" too often and you get blocked out and are left repeating what others have already reported.

Further, even the "trinity" of Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck are beholden to Leviathan -- they are there to provide a "safety valve" for the more tightly-wrapped among us, and to further the illusion that we still have "Freedom of Speech" and "...of the Press."

I'm not suggesting they're traitors, but NEVER forget that NONE of them would be on the air save for the blessing of Leviathan.

All that said, it's plain that nearly every person involved in "journalism" today is nothing more than a willing participant in The Enemy's Ministry of Propaganda.

EVERY ONE of them.

That thought actually works both ways. Doesn't it? I think it very safe to say, I am one who is somehow supposed to live in fear. That's a laughable, if not insane thought on their part. I fear no man or any gubmint thug. Bring it.

there will always be a certain amount that will live in fear.

however, I think what the original author meant is to bring fear to those that do not normally live in fear.

that is a difficult thing to do.

sure, you'll get some "hobbyists" to give in..you know the type..they own guns, but they're not "into" guns. they barely know anything beyond their particular sport, and would never carry and don't understand those that do.

most gun owners..and I'll expand that to "weapons owners" (while many bow hunters are "purists" I think they understand) will not be scared. we understand how to deal with fear and work through it.

they will not scare the ones they are trying to scare. they will only make more of us dig our heels in.

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway." John Wayne

the people that wrote these things have no concept of courage. this is their fatal flaw.

DD,
great point. I was a Fox News addict years ago and watched my old CO, Oliver North as he led us through the invasion of Iraq. But I also noticed a lot of propaganda that just tweeked my senses enough to know this wasn't right. Hannity lies through his teeth and the rest of the pack is just as phoney. Aside from the cute girls(sex does sell) there's not a bit of truth there. But they have caught the attention of mainstream America as being the only source of truth and honesty during this troubled time. And with a great deal of basic human psychology, they figured out how to tell you just what you want to hear. Sucking up to the vets overseas was also a great idea, brought the whole patriotic scene together and Fox News is now the backbone of American reporting.

My great fear of this is how they will separate us into different groups, so busy fighting amongst ourselves that we forget who the real enemy is. And we did it to ourselves, all volunteers in the name of fair and balanced reporting. Gov't sponsored media that even Goebbels would be proud of.

What an opportune window into the mind of the collectivist scum. Their projections give us much insight into what they fear, no?

Interesting that they sit in front of windows as they work. Threaten to metaphorically throw people through them. Then photograph the result.

Do they ever think about what can be put through that window into the studio?
I mean smaller than a Mack truck. Those who live in glass houses and all that.

Toaster 802,
If all of our actions will have consequences, what will be the consequences of doing nothing.

I/We have done nothing or not enough for WAY TO LONG. And it has almost to the point the doing anything would be acceptable.

To call Julius Streicher a newspaperman is like calling Adolf Eichmann a train ticket vendor.
