They should make that with a infra red barrier material, could come in handy.

Think I'll stick with my low tech 1911.

1. Do you need to wear a bowler to use that?
2. Sucks to be British

You might have a bit of a problem carrying your low tech 1911 onto a plane, into a courthouse and so on.

I have three different models of this umbrella and highly recommend all of them. And having dealt with their customer service, I can say that it is second to none. They replaced an umbrella that my wife carried for almost five years. They charged neither shipping nor any adjustment due to the umbrella's age. They stand 100% behind their products and they do it in a manner that is so quick I would not have believed it if I hadn't experienced it.

And no - I am not a shill nor affiliated with them in any manner other than being a highly impressed and satisfied customer.

Concealed weapon in PLAIN SIGHT. Neat idea there, since the thugs are looking for easy targets.

Bloody hell -- was considering prioritizing funds for a couple of their premium walking-stick umbrellas several years ago when they were "only" $189.95 ea. I still dearly want a couple for myself and the woman but that price tag curdles the Jewish ¼ of my blood into solid chunks. In fact I can hear my grandfather kvetching from beyond the grave. He says maybe the price will be down in another year.

I've had one for a couple of years. The center mast is unbreakable, but the handle attached to it feels cheap and loose. The umbrella portion is standard, nothing unbreakable. You are paying for a piece of composite with umbrella parts added on. That said, I like and use it.
