Collectivist tyrants get what they wanted with Seattle weapons and ammo tax scheme.

As you may have heard, we have lost the first round of legal challenge against Seattle Gun "Tax", and while we will, of course, appeal, this will cause some changes at Precise Shooter in the short to medium term. On January 1, 2016 sales of guns and ammunition will cease at our Aurora location. We will continue doing transfers and sales of accessories, cleaning and reloading equipment while the licensing at our new location outside the city is in process.

As I have commented elsewhere, they will most likely NEVER collect a dime of this tax. Other than forcing legitimate, tax paying businesses out of town, what will they have accomplished? If those shops move out of town, the city will end up with a net loss of revenue. The criminal element buying and selling guns on the street will certainly go on unfettered. I'm sure the legal gun owners will not be rushing to the next "gun buyback" scheme to turn in their firearms. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

East coast, West coast, LOTS, of gun control. LOTS AND LOTS of noncompliance--NO civil war, or even widespread civil unrest. Could it be your majic ball broke?

I found this gem while familiarizing myself with what's going on here:

'Seattle City Council President Tim Burgess said the tax was a "legitimate and appropriate way to raise revenue for gun safety research and prevention programs" in the city.
"Judge Robinson saw through the NRA's distorted efforts to put gun industry profits ahead of public safety," Burgess said in a statement.'

Sounds like Tim Burgess wants to get his share. With it he can create a new useless government program and punish law abiding citizens at the same time, all while driving small gun stores out of his utopian city.

Christmas came early to Tiny Timmy. And Santa Claus was in the form of a county Superior Court judge by the name of Palmer Robinson.

Addendum to my previous post:

I did a little research into King County Superior Court Judge Palmer Robinson.

She's a woman. She was first appointed by former Governor Gary Locke, who went on to be appointed Secretary of Commerce by Barack Obama, and then was appointed Ambassador to China by Barack Obama.

Keep in mind the Dems have been packing the federal courts with judges just like Palmer Anderson for seven years now, all with the approval of good Republicans like John Cornyn, Orrin Hatch and John McCain.

Galaxie_Man, as a an unhappy resident of what used to be California I am afraid you are wrong. Dead wrong. The blue-state fascists in large American cities are expert at stacking the court system with their own people, including at the Federal level. We voted, for instance, to preserve traditional marriage a few years ago. The result? A gay Federal judge pronounced this unConstitutional and proceeded to marry his boyfriend. So to with everything from medicinal mary jane to queer marriage (before the Supremes legalized it) to sanctuary cities. Hell, my state legislature just gave three million illegal aliens drivers licenses, then voted to register everyone to vote when you GET your driver's license. It is the largest act of electoral fraud in American history. They did it under color of law in broad daylight and got away with it.

You labor under the delusion that the rule of law still exists. State and Federal laws will both be winked at if it serves The Agenda. And if they fail this time, they will try again next year... and will bus in as many illegal Mexicans and Syrian 'refugees' as they feel they need top dilute your voice and drown you out and expand the power of The Party and The State.

Stockpile. Stockpile NOW. This time next year -- or in years after, barring a series of miracles -- will be too late.

"As I have commented elsewhere, they will most likely NEVER collect a dime of this tax."

Remember Obama has said that the Income Tax is not about raising money to fund the Federal government. Rather it's about "fairness".

This new tax is not about compensating anyone for "firearms violence". Rather it's about punishing current gun owners and persuading potential future gun owners not to become one.

Assuming that all members of the Seattle city council are secular, atheist, progressive leftists, they therefore believe in the sanctity of the phrase "women's health". Unless and until they repudiate the murder of those still in the womb, anything else they propose to 'save lives' is mere steam rising from the turd.

Seattle has often been called the "San Francisco of the North" - apparently they are trying to live up to that nickname. In case some have already forgotten, the last gunshop in SF recently shut down. Apparently the city elites in Sealth (original spelling) are reaching for the same results..............
Full Disclosure: I lived there for a while and not all of the people who live there are flaming liberals but they are certainly cowed by those who are.

Taunting us for the absence of a hot civil war?

Give it time, and see what happens when push actually comes to shove.

The city of Seattle will run headlong into Minneapolis Star Tribune Company v. Commissioner, 460 U.S. 575 (1983), in which the US Supreme Court ruled that no business can be singled out for a special tax.
