The Good Guys Are Not Coming To Save Us

No one is going to ride in and save you. If you want things to get better, then YOU will have to make them better. YOU will have to stand up and take the arrows, yourself. Liberty, at this stage of human development, requires risk and pain.

Everyone talks about the possibility of a coming civil war but how many of these people do you think have the courage of their convictions.
I am an old man so I really don't have a lot to lose but most of the Molon Labe people are a lot younger and I do wonder.
We saw in Boston how the sheeple knuckled under to the police when they disregarded every right they had. I do fear for this country but it almost seems like an inevitable thing that it will follow the Roman Empire into oblivion.
Sorry to be so pessimistic.

An early version of the "Serenity Prayer" starts out with a petition for courage and is not as passive:

"Father,
give us courage to change what must be altered,
serenity to accept what cannot be helped,
and the insight to know the one from the other."

"What must be altered" is not confused with "what cannot be helped" when one has the requested "insight".

Boston is the 2nd American seat of communism but not far from Portland with LA running a strong first place.. people act as they are trained and that is what we all witnessed..
I am sad that not one hooded ninja bastard in uniform said "No, I wont do this" or if he did its buried in the folds of history forever..
That fact puts a deep divide in my mind about the possibilities of so called Law Enforcement.
Cooper defined them correctly...

I have been criticized by referring to our federal masked men as "ninja," when in the view of the critic the traditional role of the ninja in Japan was to fight against oppression and tyranny. Let us note that almost no one
ever resorts to force and violence unless he is convinced that his cause is right, but without going into that let us reflect upon the fact that a man who covers his face shows reason to be ashamed of what he is doing. A man who takes it upon himself to shed blood while concealing his identity is a
revolting perversion of the warrior ethic.

It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view.

The anti-gun proponents must sooner or later be taught that those who possess firearms actually allow them to exercise their 'freedom of speach'.

That forbearance can be removed from those of tratorous intent and their voices stilled forever at any moment that just one armed citizen makes the decision to quiet them.

They speak by leave of the armed citizen - they cannot protect that right for themselves.

That should surely give them pause for thought and lead to the understanding that discretion is the better part of a loudmouth?
