Am told I will get out within days,

That's both good and bad,  The recovery is being described as nothing less than "miraculous"  I still lean to the left and have to have my front step rebuilt (no handrail) so I can get up and down, in and out.  Will have to get some specs and a quote (bill of material, etc).  I sure can't build this one like I did the last one.   I mean they want me out of here as soon as Thursday.  I can crawl up and down for a few days, but c'mon.

Now those of you who have sent me some magazines, hold up.  Those who are still sending subscriptions, God bless you, but make sure you send to the PO Box or PayPal.  God bless you all through this last travail.

LATER: My daughter's boyfriend is going to trade some labor for his FEG Browning Hi-Power Clone pistol being fixed by a buddy, whom I will reimburse.

I'm glad you're improving, but I never thought I'd see you described as left-leaning.

Am I safe to assume that when you state that you now lean to the left you are solely referencing a physical attribute while standing? I would hate to believe that modern miracle medicine -- especially since it is now endowed with special curative "remedies" since it's now controlled by the collectivists of the Obamanation -- somehow twisted your personal philosophy to now "leaning to the left."

I can only imagine, Mike, how frustrating it is to find yourself in any circumstance where you were leaning to the left!

>;-)

Rage, rage against the dying of the right. (I'm paraphrasing Dylan Thomas here.)

Just a little anniversary notice to cheer you up. http://eponymousflower.blogspot.com/2012/10/anniversary-of-hungarian-uprising-of.html

BTW, Vanderboegh...sir...You are more man, more patriot, more soldier and just as deadly even when you are severely wounded than all of your detractors combined. Welcome back from the dead.

Maybe 'listing to port' would be more accurate.
BTW - I may not have said so before but your daughter is simply stunning. and her boyfriend seems like a really fine young man, we ride up on the elevator Monday night. Wish I was able to help you with the handrail but you know my situation too. Prayers still going - please keep yours going for us, too.

J., You are in our prayers, as well. God be with you.

I believe you did that whole "leaning to the left" thing earlier in your life, and you managed to correct that, so I see no problem here. And I ought to know, since I have a dog who wears a lab coat and a stethoscope...

Great news!

Obviously you still have work to do. It is not my place but any fine young man would do those repairs for no other reason than to make your daughter happy. There, I said it and will go back to minding my own damn business.

Glad you're doing better and they want you to go home tomorrow !...Instead of saying "leaning left"...use "Leaning to the 'other right' ".

SB, I think we went to the same academy.

"the other right, dumbass!" was heard at least once a day in DT (defensive tactics) class. The sad thing is it was usually the same people screwing up their right and their left. How do such stupid people manage to dress or feed themselves?

Glad to hear miracles still exist. Take care.

Mike, if I was closer, I'd come over and do it for you.

It's a half day job for someone who knows what he's doing if you just need a handrail. If you want a whole new porch, it's all day and two guys. I'm trying to reach ou to folks in your are, but nobody's called me back yet. We can hope.

Bing shows a 12 hour drive each way, and I'm not as young as I once was. I keep proving that to myself. In my day, I could drive down, drink all night, turn around and drive home. No more.

Much as I'd like to, I can't afford the time or the money to get down there & back. My old Ford gets almost 12 mpg city. I'm thinking maybe 15 highway.
