FBI Mission Statement: The overall mission of the FBI is to uphold the law through the investigation of violations of federal criminal statutes; to protect the United States from hostile intelligence efforts; to provide assistance to other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies; and to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is faithful to the Constitution and laws of the United States.
The FBI is better than the ATF. Nicer people. More in tune with America’s Second Amendment rights,..--Robert Farago
Using Brad Kozak's reference to A. Conan Doyle, may I be permitted to mention Holme's "curious incident" of the dog that did not bark?
Gregory (Scotland Yard detective): "Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?" Holmes: "To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time." Gregory: "The dog did nothing in the night-time." Holmes: "That was the curious incident."
A conspiracy the size of "Gunwalker" would have been impossible to keep secret from the FBI, yet they did not disclose, disrupt or otherwise hinder its operation "in a manner that [was] faithful to the Constitution and laws of the United States." This can only be attributed to their being involved in its implementation
There is nothing to support Farago'suggestion the FBI is "in tune with America’s Second Amendment rights" and good reason to accept Mike's assertion that they are rat bastards.
At least you tried to set him straight in the comments.
Unfortunately, he's obviously one of those people that having developed THEIR theory as to the provocation....cannot honestly evaluate anyone else's. If he could, it would be obvious that this isn't just limited to a rogue agency but that all signs point to a manufactured "crisis" (to use Rahm's famous word) to institute more gun control.
As I explained in my reply to Mike's comments, the two are not mutually exclusive.
The ATF has long been a rogue agency. Rahm and Co. capitalized on the "crisis" of the Mexican drug war (air quotes indicating a long-term cancer).
As for Mike's contention that the ATF should be maintained because it's better than the FBI, well, I'm amazed. If gun owners had the ATF off their backs, the feds would lose a MAJOR driving force for gun control.

I think he'll come around to our point of view, soon enough.
