Unfortunately she will be the next Supreme Court Justice. The Senate is populated by poseurs who give not a fig for duty, oath, honor, or the citizen. Deals will be made that bolster Senators pretending to be reluctant to confirm an unqualified candidate that will result in their "reluctance" evaporating ala Health Care Reform.
This is why it is a good thing that the final arbiter of the law is the citizen, especially in juries empaneled. We must educate our more bovine brethren that what they have been taught so far is not true.
Not dumb - insidious. This is exactly the situation you have in corrupt countries - laws that _can_ be enforced...if someone in the government chooses to. "Equal justice under the law" means that all laws apply to all people all the time. Period. If you don't intend to enforce a law equally on all, don't make the blank law. Do _not_ give bureaucrats and/or government officials an open slate of laws they can pick and choose from in order to harass their political opponent or competitors.
This is why States need to re-establish the Right to carry without a permit. We now have it in AZ, joining Alaska and Vermont. The rest of the states need to catch up with us.
Twenty years ago my cousin started law school in Boston. She went to tell my Irish grandmother the news. My grandmother's response? In her thick Irish brogue she stated "So, you're going to be a liar now", as with the brogue, the words "liar" and "lawyer" are indistinguishable.
+1 to Suek. The perfect comparison is immigration laws; they have laws that make it illegal to enter without documentation, but they don't enforce them. Unless they want to. In the video's scenario, they'll have a law outlawing free speech, but they'll never enforce it. Unless they want to.
I think that meets the definition of a police state.
Forwarding that link to everyone I know. You can almost hear Hitler and Goebbels thinking "Yes, we lost THIS one. Give them a generation or two, however, time to forget, time to get comfortable, and then our grandchildren will succeeed where we failed." It appears to be happening.
I am glad I'm not the only one who thought she might really be a guy in bad drag. Heard the ABC news on car radio today, the news reader was extolling how much the senators all enjoyed kagan's sense of humor and how she had the senators laughing with her repartee. If that is the kind of thing that these assholes consider qualifications for the job, they would have loved Charles Manson... they say he was quick with a limerick and deadly with a pun.
Sorry... I just realized I insult Manson by the comparison.

Our Chief Anti-American Leaky Leahy sez we should all be respectful to the Jabba the Hut wannabe.
Does he mean respectful like he was with Bork? Thomas?
Did not this over chewed bubblegum body say that she thought the treatment of Bork was funny?

IT'S KEVIN JAMES! IN DRAG!!!

Kevin James in drag. Now that's funny right there. But how do you know Kevin James isn't just Elena Kagan all dolled up?
Kagan is likely to be confirmed, the RINO's will put her in.
She's just one more reason the Republic is NOT restorable.

The kind of lawyer that Bill Clinton and Barak Obama likes?
God help us all!
