Where Did the Tea-Party Anger Come From?

I pray we only have to take to the picket lines and not to the barricades.

It is well beyond anger.

betyond anger - it is to the point of principled resistance.

For a less sanguine account of the Tea Party Movement, see the July issue of Chronicles magazine. There are some "must read" articles in there.

The Tea Party is not a monolith, and unfortunately too much of it is simply an emphasis on the need for a rehashed Reagan Republicanism. And that is definititely not the cure for what ails America.

That was a good article but it didn't go far enough IMO. Someone in the comments even mentioned that Obama's support is still way out of whack with all his failures. The author mentioned it as voters not wanting to admit they had made a mistake.

The real answer lies in plain sight. Obama is the alternate choice for all those who have been taught to hate and despise the "patriarchy" or "Old order" to use PC terms. Whether these biased haters are feminists or black panthers or what have you they have placed everything behind Obama to attack and bring the demons to their knees and they will never admit to being wrong ever.

Anyway the real reason for his continued support is still the "not-to-be-mentioned" Gorilla in the room. Until that gorilla is acknowledged things will only get worse.

They aren't going to storm anything. No guillotines, no muskets, no rope. Lots of huff, puff and fluff. Photo ops for rinos, that's about it.

We blew right past anger past indignation and right into righteous outrage. The elitists have no idea what they have done.

I do Not believe the troubles of this Country can be settled at the Ballot Box. And we will have to go to the Ammo Box. And that is where the Tea Party is living with a false hope. I truly wish I was Wrong. The Republicans do Not have the courage to do what will be necessary to change the course of Socialism in this once Great Republic.

It occurs to me that it's not just the destruction of the MIDDLE class. If one defines "middle class" as home-owning professionals, the the LOWER class -- blue-collar workers and semi-skilled service workers -- is going down the tubes as well. Either the company you work for is laying off, or the company you started and own is being regulated to death by government in the name of the greater good, and you're being forced to lay off or cut pay. And it becomes a whirlpool of economic collapse. Global economy, local suffering. Your elected officials' office furniture cost more than your first house, and they're going with the flow. And saying those who are lucky enough to still have job have to dig deeper. The rest of the world says we're fat, lazy, ignorant and self-centered -- except when we arrogate to ourselves the role of World Police. They'll stick a gun in your hand and send you to Ashcanistan to die, but try to have one at home. You can't be trusted. What's NOT to be angry about, if you pay the slightest bit of attention? Now the Powers That Be want to stack the deck with judges and Cabinet members and all the way down to bureaucrat paper-pushers to whom secret surveillance, book-banning and Internet-muffling are just part of "homeland security" and interstate commerce.

On YouTube today, Kagan does not disagree with a theoretical federal law requiring Americans to eat three fruits and three vegetables, because it falls under interstate commerce. The senator interviewing her cites such an intrusive law as a fer-instance, not specifying a very similar actual one he won't name. Kagan says it sounds like a very stupid "lor," but implies stupid isn't necessarily unconstitutional.
May God have mercy. This is her consistent response to any feelers probing for fascist intent.

They put the first 2 amendments in the order that they did for a reason.

When #1 fails ... option #2 is the only option left.

Unfortunately, most people will ignore that ... and keep on hoping.

And look at just what all that hope has given us!

And really, we DO NOT want a French style "revolution".

The "Tea Party Movement" is about more than Democrat vs Republican.

I think the biggest part of the problem is probably created by Liberal/Progressive Democrats but there are a large number of RINO Republicans (or "Republicans In Name Only") who have been contributing to the growing Liberal Progressive Movement for decades!

As Dennis308 notes, I too am afraid this will have to be corrected with the ammo box (instead of the ballot box) and I too hope I'm wrong.

If enough good, decent, hard-working Americans go to the polls and vote a large number of the incombents (be they Democrat OR Republican) OUT and replace them with Independent (or NON-ALIGNED) Representatives, we may yet be able to "pull this out of the fire" before it's totally consumed...

So Linsey Graham sez the Tea Party will Die out.

We will see about that.
