The ORIGINAL gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)

My prayer for today.
Oh, Lord, grant me the strength to deal with incessant querulous anarchist commenters' jeremiads, and the time to give them justice by speed-reading them. Let my judgment be fair and my delete key be swift. Amen.
For those who may be unfamiliar with that piece of historical verse:
Remember, remember the fifth of November, The gunpowder, treason and plot, I know of no reason Why gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, ’twas his intent To blow up the King and Parliament. Three score barrels of powder below, Poor old England to overthrow; By God’s providence he was catch’d With a dark lantern and burning match. Holloa boys, holloa boys, make the bells ring. Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King! Hip hip hoorah!
Perhaps I missed the jeremiads, but I would agree with kylben here nonetheless. Personally, I'm somewhere in the fog of a few different "-isms", and generally detest labels one and all, as they make things out of human beings--even labels with which we agree.
What makes me an--ahem--"Three Percenter", despite a worldview that has some deep differences with many regulars here, has nothing to do with those labels. One can spend just a little time reading here and realize that even if you strip away all the labels and (largely understandable) ad-hominem frustration, what remains still stands on its own, as a principled defense of the peaceable against state aggression.
That, as Jeff Cooper would have said, is Problem One. If we can manage to sort that one out, we can then try and square the longer term away with each other.
What Threepers have in common with (perhaps) more purist non-aggressors is that they do not conflate aggression and violence--and we can solve Problem One with that point of agreement alone.
So we're not of a single mind. Given what we're struggling against here, that actually encourages me greatly.
Lord, if your really listening, then grant this man the wisdom to understand that men like Billy Beck, L. Neil Smith and me -- anarchists all -- are his allies in this fight. However, please do not mention the atheist part yet; I'm not sure his heart could stand the shock.
You goofs, I'm not talking about y'all. You never see the crap I'm taking about. I have but a few litmus tests for who I tie my flank to, and religion isn't one of them. If I did post what I'm talking about it would embarrass all the honest anarchists out there.
I used to be an anarchist but there were too many rules.
My take is we're going to have to invent some new kind of "ism" to keep governments, multi-national corporations, and international banks, in line... because they are built by people who only know how to organize a world that operates by force rather than by consent and voluntary cooperation.
Consider the Cold War. The `defence' of the West was predicated on Mutually Assured Destruction - the calculated, deliberate, premeditated mass-murder of millions of non-combatants on both sides. Genocide on a planetary scale.
We have nothing to apologize for, whatever we may have to do to secure liberty.
Hopefully this comment makes up for all the crap you gotta wade through.

Some of us anarchists are with you. I'm happy to hash out our differences from the baseline of a federalist constitutional republic.
You should also Remember, remember that today is the Fifth of November...
@kylben: Ditto!

Heh.
Any group has its low end of the bellcurve Cranks.
As for the Dems, the Cranks have seized the wheel.
i've pretty much converted to calvinism, so, no more of that for me. not epistemologically, anyways. just economics.
Ah, the 5th of November.
Burn him in a barrel of tar
Burn him like a blazing star-
Burn 'is body from 'is 'ed,
Then we'll know old pope is dead!
Some of the original verses are usualy left out these days.

I don't know who is giving you grief Mike.
But, I'm with Kylben.
Ignore the buttholes; there are some in every demographic.
What, exactly, do you have against anarchists?
