The American Tyrant's Insoluble Conundrum

The swarming activity, the intensity of life and work that kept busy half a million villages such as this one in the enormous territory of China, were the very force that the Japanese were powerless to annihilate or conquer. The Nipponese had succeeded, in the last few years, in pushing their way along roads and railroads, along the rivers. They had seized important towns. But the innumerable rural communities had remained out of their reach -- even in the occupied area. They could not possibly take them all, subdue them all. Behind the enemy lines, in huge vacuums left between the scattered Japanese battalions, comparitively free villages continued to strive for survival: they provided a basis of operations for guerrilla warfare and were the backbone of China's resistance. It was because the peasants had not submitted to the invaders and had stubbornly kept their hearts in the war that Japan, in spite of her overwhelming superiority in weapons, had been unable to bring the "Chinese Incident" to a victorious conclusion. -- Eve Curie, Journey Among Warriors, 1943, p. 366.

The United States of America comprises 3.79 million square miles or 9.83 million square kilometers. In that immense space are upwards of 306 million people. We are the third largest country in the world by land area and by population.

There are also, in that immense living space and formidable population something on the order of 250 million firearms in private hands.

Clausewitz wrote that in military affairs, "quantity has a quality all its own."

Now do you understand the would-be American tyrant's insoluble conundrum?

Now do you begin to grasp the military problem of subduing that many people, spread out over that many square miles, with that many firearms?

And most importantly, now do you begin to understand your inherent power? Do you begin to realize how silly it is to worry about the federal government's perceived power and your own perceived weakness?

The bully succeeds by terrorizing one victim at a time, playing on the fear engendered in the other potential victims. When one kid stands against him and the entire schoolyard, by his example, recognizes the power of numbers, the bully is finished.

So too with "gangster government," as Michael Barone describes the present administration.

It doesn't matter what small percentage of the population stands up to oppose American tyranny -- IT WILL STILL BE ENOUGH.

So prepare to get off your butt and STAND.

The time is fast approaching to remind the hired help who's really boss around here.

The Powers That Be, including the 7th Circuit Court, seem to think we are British or Australian subjects who will merely grumble under our breath as we toss our guns into the recycling trucks. "Aw, shucks, guys, at least we tried."
Uh, no.

Even at only 3 percent, our numbers far exceed those of the "gangsters" who think they are in charge.
The bully is fully aware of these facts, that's why all the Olofson type cases they are trying to get away with. Their only weapon is to intimidate us and make us fear them as much as they fear us. Well guess what gansgters, it ain't working. We care about our Country a hell of a lot more than we fear any thug govment bully.

This would make me feel a lot better if Mao hadn't then succeeded in doing as bad or worse to China than Japan would have.

Your argument is a good one when it comes to foreign invasions. However, when the people themselves dismiss all opposition as wild-eyed racism, when they attack self-defense as uncivilized violence, when they deride simple decency as religious fanaticism, when they not only cheer the bully on but declare a would be dictator as their savior, all bets are off.

When, to fit the day, a man faces down a line of tanks in the city square, and the crowd angrily throws him aside because he is blocking the parade...

...Then, there will indeed be blood, one way or another.

I believe the three percenters will be enough. I hope so. I see signs that far more than three percent are waking up, and beginning to see the threat.

Please, that enough of them wake up in time.

Here is what will be the challenge: unification and coordination.

And here is why it will be immediately critical sooner than we all desire: look back to Nazi Germany and their progressive internment of undesired people groups. As long as it wasn't "my" group, people stood by and watched and did nothing, thinking it would never be their turn -- until it was too late and they were in a ghetto, box-car or camp.

As soon as the feds start going door-to-door confiscating weapons, we will need to consider ourselves activated. If we do not take this lesson of the creeping suppression of resistance from the Germans of the last century, it will be quite possible for door-to-door operations to quietly occur, systematically, without much fuss masked by carefully released details implicating the gun owner whose arms were recently confiscated had done something illegal.

By the time the veracity of that claim is made, the feds will be far down the road.

If we look at the ongoing and persistent figures posted by the BATF on weapon seizures, I think this pattern already begins to be manifesting. What could stall it is better communication and coordination amongst gun owners... a way for neighbors to know for sure that the guy down the road was in fact not doing anything illegal when raided. A way for the silent wave of ongoing raids to be tracked, analyzed and the information disseminated needs to be quickly established.

I think we are in a dive, presently, with the erosion of freedom and control over our government. Just look at the carte-blanche nullification of legal contracts, the political cronyism and favoritism so reminiscent of the U.S.S.R. - there's a storm surge coming but we (the majority of US citizens) don't yet perceive it because the bulk of the force is beneath the surface.

It would seem the Afghan people have the correct mindset in this regard as well. Nobody seems to get very far in "conquering" them. First the Russians, and now, sadly, us.

Well. For the Afghans; first the Macedonians, then a bunch more people including the Mongols, then the British, then the Russians, then us.

I think a study of Iraq tactics may be a better fit for what we could expect here from a government who will wage war upon it's own people.

Airmobile. Japs did not have helo's.

Hit and run raids using Airmobile assets are not impossible to counter, Take Vietnam for example. But helo's and flir do make it more difficult to play hide and seek. And we must remember, The VC/NVA and Hadji had access to medium and heavy infantry class weapons. CONUS types do not.

Obama said to Muslims gathered in Cairo: "...there are some who advocate for democracy only when they're out of power; once in power, they are ruthless in suppressing the rights of others. (Applause.) So no matter where it takes hold, government of the people and by the people sets a single standard for all who would hold power: You must maintain your power through consent, not coercion; you must respect the rights of minorities, and participate with a spirit of tolerance and compromise; you must place the interests of your people and the legitimate workings of the political process above your party."
Stipulated, we are a constitutional republic, not a democracy, but... do you think he means those guidelines should apply HERE too? Doesn't look that way, so far.

"The bully succeeds by terrorizing one victim at a time, playing on the fear engendered in the other potential victims."

This is utterly true. I had the privilege of meeting my paternal grandfather's brother about 15 years ago, when he was 87. He had lived in Russia/the USSR/Ukraine his entire life until then, but finally got out. His son translated a story about what happened to him in 1951. I'll spare you all the details, but for our purposes here's what's important: he was walking home from work one day, minding his own business and not having done anything wrong. Suddenly, a big car pulled in front of him, and 3 very large men with prominent bulges in their coats leapt out and "invited" him to have a discussion at the local NKVD headquarters. He was dumped in a dark, dank holding cell for a couple hours, then grilled for many more hours about every detail of his life by people with the attitude that he had done something wrong. No water or food was provided. No phone call home. No lawyer. No one read him his rights, because he had none. He's lucky that he wasn't beaten, just for the fun of it. Finally, he was released and went home (it was further away than work, and he had to hoof it in the middle of the night).

I asked him why this was done. He said, "Don't you know? Stalin and Beria did this to everyone, completely randomly, so that we would all be terrified of them...and you know what? It worked."

Such are the methods of a bully or a tyrant.

Ah, Mr. Carter - unfortunately, more and more actions/inanimate objects and even thoughts are considered "illegal" by the general population. They have been sold a bill of goods, naturally, but it was SUCH A DEAL!! The payoff was perceived security, safety from all those evil things and people.

We can't wait for our neighbors to recognize that the only truly illegal act is the initiation of force against the innocent.

I suggest the hired help wear dogtags, so next of kin can be notified. And bring body bags, lots and lots of body bags.

Everything now is illegal, most of us have broken at least 10 laws today. If my neighbor down the road is getting raided I hope I'll be able to get my 3% on and help. Unless he's a pediphile or rapist. I started to add a murderer to that but we will need those type of people, there won't be any lawsuits filed in these types of actions, you either get all in or all out. I hope I'm in.

we don't infantry class weapons YET. They just haven't been "donated" by the other side...

WILL YE STAND?

Will ye stand as we did on Lexington Green, formed up on that hallowed lawn?
Will ye shoulder yer rifle and fire it true, if Redcoats come in the dawn?
Can ye wait ‘til ye see ‘the whites o’ their eyes’, as we did on Breed’s famed Hill
And Howe twice retreated before our fire, as result of our Rifleman skill?
Ye’ve sworn ye’d defend yer Rights in this Land, and ye’ve answered ‘The Drum’.
WILL YE STAND?

We lost a few fights in Seventy-six, but then crossed the Delaware
And caught those Hessians by surprise in Trenton ’s village square,
Though next year we lost Fort Ti we regrouped, and cut off Johnny Burgoyne,
His five thousand men? He surrendered them then. Saratoga was our’n to rejoin.
From there we purty well swept our land clean. If it’s dirtied again
WILL YE STAND?

By your fireside you sit in the comforts of Home, with your family grouped all around,
and your Rifle is cleaned and the ammo is stashed where it can be easily found.
But it takes more than will. It takes training and skill. Have ye practiced that new-fangled drill?
Can ye shoot the ‘Half-Mile’ using Rifleman’s guile, and also hit targets at hand?
Then you’re ready, my Friend! We’ll meet proud in the end. But for now, lad
WILL YE STAND?

It should be obvious. Any "leader" who does not want hardy, pioneer spirited armed strongmen comprising his nation, but who wants downtrodden, broken spirited subjects, is a tyrant undeserving of anything but scorn and corporal punishment to the cheers of the liberated masses.

JEC II,
You're being successfully deluded.
"As soon as the feds start going door-to-door confiscating weapons, we will need to consider ourselves activated."
It has already started. And it is not just the "feds."
The Democratic People's Republic of New Jersey outlawed possession of military-look-alike rifles, even those bought with a state-issued permit. Possession of a single 20-round magazine can get you years in prison.
And the raids are quietly going on in the DPRNJ and few are paying attention.

I watched an old movie about WWII in school many years ago. It showed China as an area where the Japanese soldier only controlled the area he was standing on.
The same thing can happen here, as the foreign soldier, or even the government soldier can't control an area if the people support us.
We must make sure it is known we are defending the Constitution, and they are doing something Unconstitutional and illegal. We need to attack where we are stronger and disappear when we are weaker.
Cache weapons and ammo now. When they come looking for it, you sold it for cash at a "Gun Show". Use their lies and twisted beliefs against them.
Remember one well aimed shot can make a difference, one shot at a time.
