Update

I have been getting some inquiries (some in the form of criticism for slacking) about why I haven't been doing more original work lately. It is a fair question and deserves an honest answer. The fact is that, quite apart from the diagnosis of the resurgent liver tumors, I have had some fairly stiff problems with eating and drinking lately. The esophagus is proving increasingly problematic with acute pain on swallowing, worsening heartburn, and occasional inability to eat without regurgitation. Yeah, I know, too much information. But the fact of the matter is that these problems have caused some weight loss -- I literally have to force myself to eat -- and point to worsening stenosis in the esophageal junction.
I will be getting a swallow study on Wednesday which should tell us more, and will let you know what's up. I am still hoping to cover the NRA convention and then to do a run out to Colorado and Washington state (and perhaps Oregon, we'll see). In the mean time, keep me in your prayers please.

You aways do what you can do, and never fail to do what you must do.

Keeping your health up is one of the most important things in life.

Your site always has interesting facts and articles.

May God bless and keep you close. Your health will improve, and the great body of original work that lies within you will see the light of day. You are always in my prayers.

Obviously some people need to walk in your shoes.

"In the mean time", Mike, you remain much in the thoughts and prayers of the Lord's little flock in Archer, FL. We appreciate all you do in the service of liberty.

Is Ensure or the Slimfast protein drink go down better?

Mike,
Sir, you never need to apologize for failure to live up to the expectations of someone else. Tell 'em to pound sand. I hardly believe they're paying you a salary. Most of us appreciate everything you do. Keep on keepin' on. Speedy recovery, and all that!
Best wishes.

Tell the moronic poxy sons-of-bitches who are criticizing you that you're sick. Liver disease is no laughing matter. No one who has not experienced the malaise that comes with it has any faint fekking notion of how miserable it can be. Sick as I am (with similar issues) if I knew their names and where they lived I'd already be on the way to beat the living crap outta them!

All you dingleberries-for-brains fellating oedipae who are giving Mike grief need to STFU and be glad you get what you get!

Hang in there, Dutchman. We got your back. Me? I'm dying so I got nothing to lose. Lemme at em!

People are busting your chops because you're not working hard enough? WTH is that?!?!

You already do more than you should (due to health issues). If they need more original work, they need to shut up or STEP UP. Selfish pricks like that piss me off.

Mike V, your impact is huge!

In the days that follow when we all are no longer here there will still be stories of how Mike V and his irregulars carry the standards before us upon the ramparts of tyranny with freedom in his heart and the fight for liberty in their words and deeds!

Death before slavery!

take care of your health first

Yup. Ensure is a great source of nutrition when eating is rough. Chalky as it is - it's worth the loot. Mike, that was the absolute answer to my weight loss that was getting dangerous. It could be your survival aid and maybe even be worth a praxis post. ;)

I am always amazed that people can be that callous and ignorant. You are in my prayers and I always appreciate what you do get done. I am unable to do much these days myself. Do what you can spend what time you can with Rosey and the children and grand children. I don't see many heroes getting much done either.

Keep up the fight and do not go gently into the night.

I would second the recommendations about Ensure.

After my bypass, I could eat nothing, and lost a lot of weight.

I found that by placing Ensure in the freezer for a short while, it had the consistency of a milkshake, and was quite appealing.

After a few weeks on that, my appetite slowly returned.

I still keep a few cases at home on standby.

If they want original content, tell them to write some. If they want stories of adventures in the defense of liberty, tell them to get off their asses and make some.

There will always be those who, as John Stewart Mill spoke of, are made and kept free by the exertions of better men. Some of those better men lately are women. Tell them Kit says to grab their balls and start acting like men instead of pansy keyboard warriors who have to live vicariously through the courage of others.

Much love and respect to you, Mike.
